The property is owned by a non-profit organization and is located in a private valley near the ocean close to Cambria, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo on California’s gorgeous central coast mid-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We are located in an area of wineries and estate homes, close to everything but with very serene privacy. That rare privacy combined with convenience to all amenities is one of the reasons we chose to establish Dancing Deer right here. It's so very peaceful and beautiful and just a wonderful place to connect, unwind and rebuild.
As rental space for your retreats, workshops, meetings & gatherings, Dancing Deer Farm provides the perfect environment for many types and sizes of gatherings and activities.

About Maria Bucaro
This property is owned and operated by the Center for Reuniting Families, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. On November 15, 1994, the Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose: To establish and maintain programs providing both teen-oriented and adult assistance to educate and encourage choices that are positive for the individual, family, community and for the greater stewardship of the earth through experiential exercises and to develop a teaching institution disseminating educational material to the public. In addition to our core goals, at Dancing Deer Farm we provide a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.

Perfect place for a weekend with friends and children
This is the second time visiting Dancing Deer with a group of friends with children. We had a great time. It is hard to find a place with 6 bedrooms. The kids had fun running around and playing outside. The adults were happy to catch up, do some running and hiking in the area and go wine tasting within walking distance. We already are talking about coming back again.
Beautiful house (clean) located in an excellent country area, near traditional wineries.
We stayed (5 families) 3 nights to receive the year, and we are so happy we chose this property.
Maria was excellent and responded quick all my questions which were few since the house and amenities were all clear and good.
Thank you Maria for everything and see you soon.
A peaceful sanctuary surrounded by nature
Dancing Deer Farm is located in one of the most beautiful parts of inland central coast. Set in the midst of vineyards, woods and rolling hills, this quiet sanctuary has been the perfect location for professional training retreats that I offer. That is why we have returned and having an annual reservation at the Farm. The staff has been most hospitable, helpful and prompt in handling any issues that have arisen during our stay. We have used the Country House and Barn and the Casita which have been clean, comfortable and highly suitable for our needs. In good weather we have had a graduation ceremony outside in the small amphitheater. We are very happy to have found Dancing Deer Farm and are calling it our new home. Thank you, Lucia! You are an amazing group and we are proud to have you here!
Wonderful experience all around!
I woke up on my wedding day to a deer standing right outside my window. Aside from the bresthtaking views, the best part about this venue is the opportunity to stay on the property with family and friends. We stayed in the cozy Country Haven for 2 nights. This meant that we could take our time both setting up and breaking down after the event (which was important since we DIY'd most everything) AND party long into the night! Maria was so great to work with and answered and encouraged all of my questions. The amphitheatre was lovely and literally needed no decorations in my opinion. The Fawn Hill barn and surrounding picnic tables created an excellent atmosphere for the reception...I loved the twinkle lights, reclaimed bucket lanterns, as well as the awesome moveable bar! We had a fantastic wedding weekend at Dancing Deer Farm!
Fantastic home, ambiance, land and location.
Wow! This 6 bedroom clean and airy home was perfect for our 11 person retreat -- and the property is a treasure. Arriving at Dancing Deer Farm we immediately felt the peace and connection with nature. The owners are wonderful about letting us meander the paths through Dancing Deer and the adjoining 35 acre forest. Hard to believe this is in the middle of the wine country 25 minutes from the ocean when it feels like being in a mountain retreat. Kitchen is big enough to have fun cooking together. We had great conversations in the deep leather couches, then meals, dancing and art in the multi-purpose room. Thank you Dancing Deer Farm for providing such a special place that can be used for so many purposes. Your attention to detail and willingness to do so much to make our stay special is MUCH appreciated. Your are really nice people. I've already re-booked for May!
Perfect for Family Gatherings/Reunions
This property was the perfect venue for our Thanksgiving celebration and weekend! Perfect for all ages, there are trails for walks, a teepee for drum circle, a labyrinth for meditating, a barn for large dinners, and an amphitheater for jam sessions. Plenty of areas to congregate in and outdoors, and plenty of ways to retreat and find solitude. We enjoyed all of it to the fullest extent. Excellent location in Templeton and gorgeous views everywhere you turn...and yes, there are tons of Dancing Deer!
With the coast only a 30-minute drive away, you can easily visit the beach for surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and parasailing in Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria. And just north of that, visit the elephant seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon!
If you are here during the summer months, the Mid State Fair in Paso Robles is always a favorite activity, and easy to get to at only 8 miles away! Head south 30 minutes into San Luis Obispo for more central coast fun, including hiking some of the Seven Sisters of San Luis Obispo - our famous peaks of volcanic remains!
We have hot springs just a few miles away, and on site healing practitioners offering a variety of healing modalities, so if you'd like to ensure your stay is relaxing and rejuvenating, we've got you covered!
And if you like good food and good wine - this is the destination for you! With nearly 200 wineries in the county (two are directly across the street from us!), and a farmer's market almost every day, your taste sensations will be pampered and nourished!
If lake activities are your thing, it is a short drive to several area lakes: Santa Margarita, Nacimiento and San Antonio. Enjoy fishing, camping and boating activities!
Take some time to appreciate our state's history with visits to some of the original California missions - Mission San Antonio de Padua, Mission San Miguel Arcangel, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and Mission La Purisima Concepcion are all within driving distance.
Come let us show why some have called this the Happiest Place in America!
