About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

One of home's unique amenities is 3.5 baths- each bedroom has it's own bathroom so no sharing!

4-person golf cart is available to guests. Nothing like riding to and from the beach in style & comfort- cart can be driven to end of beach access trail that is just off the beach. Great for carrying all your beach gear and trips back & forth to the house from the beach and the pavilion. Nothing gets my kids more excited than a golf cart ride for ice cream @ the Pavilion- great family time and memories!

Beautifully decorated home in the highly desired Pelican Bay community of Wild Dunes- quaint neighborhood with a great location! Screened porch overlooks 6th fairway of Links golf course. Pelican Bay is favorite section for families. Our home is just 100 yards from the neighborhood pool (no fee to use) and 150 yards further to the widest beach in Wild Dunes and the entire area. Home is also only a very short walk to all the activities of the Wild Dunes Pavilion, tennis center, golf, etc.

Whether you are with your family or a group of friends, this is the perfect vacation home in Wild Dunes- in addition to all the amenities inside, you can enjoy the screened back porch that overlooks the 6th fairway of famous Links course (Weber grill provided), rock on the front porch that overlooks the quiet cul-de-sac, and enjoy the very clean & expansive carport under the house (picnic table, outdoor shower, etc.) We want your vacation to be a great memory and we have made every amenity available to help with this!

All bedrooms are equipped with high quality linens and all the comforts of home- TV & DVD in each room, bedside tables, dressers, lamps, nice chairs, etc. Master bedroom is located on main floor and has a queen bed, office desk & large sitting area with view of golf course, and full bath. There is also another half bath on the main level. The 2 bedrooms upstairs have their own full bathrooms- 2nd room has a queen bed and a private balcony; 3rd room has a day bed with trundle (can convert into 2 singles or a double bed) and bunk beds. 2 pack & plays and inflatable mattresses are also available.

Kitchen & dining:

Kitchen is equipped with all the cookware & dining ware needed for the most elaborate meals. Dining room table seats 6.

Home is very child friendly. The following items are provided for you to use as needed: high chair, two pack-n-play cribs, bunk beds, two child gates, and child locks & child proof door knob covers.

Located just a 20 minute drive from historic Charleston, there are countless sites to see, places to shop, and great dining. Within 5 miles there are over 15 restaurants, 7 golf courses, 3 marinas and several parks. If you don't feel like leaving Wild Dunes, there are daily activities for both children and adults: Wild Dunes Resort is known for its two championship resort golf courses, its beautiful beaches, great tennis, and laid back lifestyle. Wild Dunes is a gated community with 24 hr. security patrol.

Great home for a get away

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for 2 couples and one single adult! No sharing bathrooms, and the living room was extra large with 2 seating areas. We loved the screened in porch, and the covered front porch. The beach access was a 3 or 4 minute walk, or seconds on the golf cart. We toured Wild Dunes a few times in the cart. What a fun amenity! There is a very private pool steps away from the house, and another very large community pool down the street. This is a perfect location for a mix of privacy, yet so close to all the action. It is a quick drive into Charleston, and we discovered a great outdoors mall in Mt Pleasant, just over the bridge into the isle. The house is well equipped, and even has a Keurig coffee machine- nice touch!!!! I highly recommend this house as a home base for a vacation in this area. There is a marina nearby to rent boats, jet skis, etc. for those water lovers.

Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying at this house. It was spacious enough for 3 adults and 3 children to enjoy without feeling like we were stacked on top of each other. The house is well taken care of and doesn't feel outdated in any way. We really liked having the golf cart at our disposal as it made getting everyone and everything to the beach in one trip very easy. We are especially grateful for the wonderful owners. We were scheduled to arrive during the "500 year" storm that literally dumped 26 inches of rain in the Charleston area in 48 hours. The owners were extremely easy to contact and very accommodating while we tried to work around the weather and figure out a different arrival date. We would definitely come back to this property without hesitation and will highly recommend to anyone willing to listen. Thanks for making our vacation everything we expected it to be.

2nd time around

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in this vacation home. We had such a wonderful first visit several years ago that I was concerned that somehow we might be disappointed. NOT SO! The fantastic owners had made several decorative updates and added even more useful items to the already well supplied home. You really do not need to bring anything except personal items. This house is perfect for friends or family and is very easy to entertain in. Having been to the Charleston area many times over the years, we were most content to stay in Wild Dunes, go to the beach, cruise around in the new golf cart and relax "at home". Not one detail has been overlooked, a lot of care has been taken to make this a lovely and comfortable spot to be enjoyed. We will return!

Wonderful Beach Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful beach home, and we can't say enough about it!! The home is beautifully decorated, has everything a renter might need, and nice touches along the way with plush towels and comfortable linens. The home is extremely roomy and has a great living space downstairs for enjoying family time. The kitchen table can fit a large crowd making meals fun and enjoyable. The screened-in porch is wonderful to enjoy your morning coffee and look at the scenic view of the golf course. The beach is so close to this home, about a 3 minute walk, and the golf cart was a HUGE hit with everyone in our family. Pelican Bay is a quaint neighborhood with a great pool that is accessible at all times and free for those renting in Pelican Bay. The home is also located on a cul-de-sac making it fun for kids to ride bikes and play outside. Our family loved going into Sullivans Island for dinner, which was a quick 10 minute drive away, as well as into Charleston, which is a quick 20 minute drive. David, the owner, was great to work with and extremely responsive with any questions we had. We absolutely loved our stay, and we can't wait to come back and rent this home again!!!

Feels Like Home!

  • 5 of 5

If you have any hesitation renting on Homeaway or VRBO, DON'T!!! At least not with this homeowner, David Pearson, who was such a pleasure to work with and so accommodating! Everything on this listing is 100% accurate. From the moment you walk in the front door, you feel at home at 26 Pelican Reach. Wonderful location, everything you need for a beach home! We had 5 adults and one teen and the house was a perfect size. The home is so comfortable and has a great layout for enjoying family time. The home is roomier than it appears in the photos - the living room can seat at least 8 adults very comfortably without having to utilize dining chairs or bar stools. The dining room was the perfect size for us to enjoy game night as well. Also, the house was very clean and well supplied with towels, toilet paper, kitchen accessories, etc... Lastly, the golf cart was a hit and a great way to explore beautiful Wild Dunes.

This was our first visit to IOP and we loved the island. Don't miss Acme - great seafood just a few miles down the way. We went there shortly upon arrival on our first night and were welcomed to Low Country with pimento cheese grits, fried shrimp and she-crab bisque...delicious! (I find TripAdvisor to be a very reliable source - Acme is ranked #1 restaurant on IOP. Also, David will send a packet with great info about the area as well, including dining options). About 7 miles down is Sullivan's Island - wonderful, laid back vibe with some good restaurants/bars (Obstinate Daughter is a great dining option). Happened to be there on New Year's Day for the annual Polar Plunge that starts at Dunleavy's Irish Pub, an event not to be missed should you find yourself in the vicinity on Jan. 1 (Dunleavy's is worth a visit regardless)! We enjoyed touring Ft. Moultrie at the end of the island as well - entry is free from 4-5 daily and only $5/family any other time.

The commute to Charleston is an easy one (about 30 minutes one way) and we never had issues with traffic. We found the city to be extremely easy to navigate and parking was easy (although know that most of the garages only accept cash). Once parked, the city offers free trolley rides along the more popular routes. The Visitor's Center is a great first stop for maps, tours, etc... On the flip side, live like the locals and visit The Blind Tiger and/or Griffon's for drinks/pub food and Pearlz Oyster Bar for great seafood. We will be back!

We can't say enough about this place. We have stayed here twice and both times it has been a wonderful experience. The house is very clean and updated and we feel right at home there. There is easy access to the bike trails and most importantly the beach, which is an easy walk or take the golf cart, then it's less than 2 minutes from garage to beach parking. Dining and shopping is everywhere from IOP all the way to Charleston about 25 minutes away. We have rented numerous vacation properties and have NEVER encountered owners as accommodating and helpful. This is the way vacations should be! We absolutely love it and will be back again soon.
