Located in a Queen Anne Victorian in the heart of San Francisco, this location is a perfect setting for exploring the City. Visitors without cars will find a wide range of transportation options: all MUNI train lines are within a couple blocks, including the Historic F line which travels down Market Street to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, farmer's markets, shopping, museums and more. For travelers wanting to visit Union Street, the Marina and Presidio MUNI bus service is available on the same block; the same bus runs through the Castro and Noe Valley in the other direction. Even traveling to and from the airport is just one train connection away. Rental cars are available from several ZipCar locations within a couple blocks. Cars are discouraged; save money and hassle but not having a car in San Francisco. The clean bedroom with private bath is located in a historic Queen Anne Victorian in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood with a wrought iron gate.
A Comfortable Place in a Great Location: This studio has its own exterior entrance. This studio features a comfortable queen size bed, designer sheets, a separate, private bath and separate area for coffee, microwave and supplies and a fireplace. An additional twin bed is available for an additional fee. Stroll to nearby outdoor cafes, a French bistro, a wide range of diverse bars and dance clubs, the historic Castro Theater, the historic Mission Dolores and much more.
Amenities: Your hosts will welcome you with an initial setup of fresh linens and towels and coffee, and are happy to direct you to all of the wonderful amenities San Francisco has to offer. Your hosts both speak English, and one speaks German (Deutsch), and the other speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese.
A trained hospitality and restaurant professional, the owner lives in the same building.

This building is located in the very heart of San Francisco, with access to great transportation all over the city and much to do within walking distance. The neighborhood is safe, pedestrian-friendly and public transportation options are abundant.
This Queen Anne Victorian is located on a street lined by old Magnolia trees. The Castro district, restaurants, shops, parks all surround this location.
We couldn't be more pleased with our accommodations while visiting the awesome city of San Francisco. The rental was conveniently located for all of our excursions, the room was beautiful and fit our needs completely and our hosts were gracious and helpful. We had the utmost of privacy while knowing we were being looked after. Helpful insights about the neighborhood and the city beyond were shared with us. We ate at amazing restaurants at our hosts' recommendations, too. We will definitely stay at the beautiful Castro Home again on our next visit.
My wife and I spent 6 days here in the heart of the Castro district. The ground floor efficiency apt. is comfortable, clean, and quiet, complete with a kitchenette and sitting area. There's a patio facing the street which is pleasant for morning coffee, although there's quite a bit of loud street traffic on Castro Street (barely audible inside the apt though.) Queen bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Easy walking distance to many restaurants, Duboce Park, Market Street, Buena Vista and Golden Gate Park. Apt. contains a binder full of info about nearby and more distant attractions.
My husband, 6 month old and I traveled to CA for the first time and stayed at Nick and Laurence's place. Upon arrival, Laurence greeted us in their small, clean apartment-like place. The mattress did hurt me and my husband's back. Everyday I really enjoyed Laurence and Nick's daily tips via emails about sights to see, food to eat and local attractions that we could check out.
The district we stayed in was a good location for local eateries and shops and easy access to public transportation. Like any big city there were bums in the area. Also, we were able to hear the city traffic at night. But overall was a good stay.
First time visitors to San Francisco. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nick & Laurence made the reservation process smooth and professional. Laurence warmly welcomed us and provided lots of valuable information to ease our minds about getting around in this very busy city. They even have a nifty three-ring binder with more info that was fun to peruse.
The apartment was very clean and modern. Small but usable kitchen stocked with a Keurig coffee maker (and K-cups) plus condiments, etc. The bathroom has a tub/shower as well as extra toiletries if you forgot something. Perfect for a couple! Vacation, second honeymoon or even visiting family => the place is close to mass transit, shopping, Castro/Mission sights and more if you are willing to walk a bit.
N&L provided several emails as our stay progresses with more suggestions. Those hints were quite welcome and we used several to enhance our visit including visiting the farmer's market just a block away.
Although we didn't have to contact N&L while were staying in the apartment, Laurence made it clear that he was available to help us as needed.
We highly recommend renting from N&L. We will definitely contact them as a first resource when we next visit San Francisco.
The property is well-maintained, clean and centrally located near public transportation. Bus stops, street cars and subways are either outside the door or a block or two away. We rented a Zip Car one day that was literally right around the corner. The unit we stayed in for 3 nights was clean and very quite in the evening. The bed was very comfortable too.
The owners were very hospitable and offered tips throughout our stay. Many of which we used; especially for nearby restaurants. There are plenty of good food establishments for reasonable prices nearby. The price for the unit was reasonable for San Francisco. My wife and I would stay here again on future visits. The only downside I can mention is this part of town is more for adults than a family with children. Evenings in "The Castro" can get a little gritty. But that is no fault of the owners and all of SF may be like this. We mainly went to the main tourist attractions during the day and didn't really visit the different little sub-cities within SF other than China Town. We really enjoyed our stay at this property and our visit to SF. Next trip we'll see things we missed in the city this trip and will also hit the wine country. N & L, thank you for helping make our trip a great success.
Located on a Magnolia tree lined residential street just north of San Francisco's famous Castro District. This quiet residential neighborhood is safe and walkable with nice restaurants and shops. And across Market Street is the historic Castro Street theater, restaurants, bars and shops. One block away is our weekly Farmer's Market (seasonal). Located within blocks of ALL San Francisco MUNI light rail lines and the historic F line which features historic street cars from around the world and is a fantastic way to travel to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and more. You won't need a car! See the map - look how many parks are located nearby. Hike? Play tennis? There are a number of tennis courts nearby - play tennis surrounded by redwoods and views of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay. Or walk a few blocks down 16th Street to Mission Dolores which is where San Francisco was founded. VIsit the historic wooden church which still holds services in German. Dine outside and enjoy the California sun.
