Great place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

Great place to stay! We really loved getting outside of Colorado Springs and into the mountains! Woodland Park and Divide are cute little towns with great local spots. We loved the view and hot tub!

Beautiful

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time. This property is in a beautiful location. We did run out of propane and the spare was empty, after the first night. It was all together a wonderful time, though we did worry about running out of water the entire stay.

Good Functional Comfortable Cabin in a Gorgeous location

  • 5 of 5

The first thing you will notice about the cabin is the beauty of the surroundings. It is nestled in a valley due west of Pike's Peak, tucked in so close that you can't even see the summit because of the rest of the mountain leading up to it from the west. You do however get a majestic view of the valley to the south, and way off in the distance you can see cars on the highway at night. The neighborhood is not busy at all, we saw only a few other cars there during our three night stay.

The cabin itself is cozy and functional. The wood burning stove in the living room works well, but if you're not into making a fire (it is super easy in this stove), there is baseboard heat in every room with individual thermostats, so every room in the house is comfortable no matter what it is doing outside.

This is not one of those super amenities cabins like you see sometimes, but it is also a great deal less expensive than a lot of what is on vrbo, and this one has 4 queen size beds (actual queens, not full) in 4 different bedrooms, 2 upstairs, 2 down, each of which share a comfortable bathroom. The water is on cistern, so pressure is a bit on the low side, and there is no dishwasher, probably for the same reason, but it is no big deal. Bring paper plates if it bothers you to hand wash dishes. The deck could use sanded and repainted, but it is in good repair, nice and solid, and the grill works quite well. Heats evenly, which is unusual for a rental cabin.

The hot tub had a button that didn't work, but it was hot enough to be comfortable and it was outside for stargazing. Totally lovely. There is also a tire swing and a porch swing hanging from trees on the property.

Overall, this place is totally worth the price. You get a lot for what you pay for. My wife and I went with one other couple and we did nothing but hang around the cabin the first day. Second day we drove north on 67 for a few miles and hiked around Mueller State Park, then went back to the cabin and chilled out some more. It was a lovely getaway, and the cosmetic blemishes that some reviewers have pointed out made zero difference in how much we enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to get away for a relaxing vacation in the mountains.

Great view; not the cleanest cabin.

  • 3 of 5

If you're looking for a mountain view in a quiet area, this cabin is it! Fantastic views of the Pike's Peak mountain range at over 9,000 ft elevation. No barking dogs, no noisy neighbors. You will be 45 minutes from Colorado Springs, not the advertised 30 min. This is a very cute cabin with lots of room, but.....if you have any allergies I wouldn't advise it. Every curtain and every blind are an inch think with dust! There is a cute decorative bear on the kitchen windowsill that not only is covered in dust, but also has cobwebs on it! Gave me the creeps while I was preparing food. Made me wonder how clean everything else was. I had to spend over 1/2 an hour using our own personal hand vac to try to clean off the curtains and an artificial Christmas tree that was secured to the wall in one bedroom & was touching the bed. This tree was so full of dust, it was SO disgusting! Also, be aware that the owner goes overboard warning you not to over-use water. I'm sure people have abused this, but then don't advertise that you supply a washer & dryer. This cabin stay was the 2nd week of our vacation & I had planned on doing some laundry; but they warn you that you could run out & too bad for you, so why would a person try doing laundry?

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed the view and the space. As for the dust, it is a mountain cabin and while we do clean after each guest, I recognize that each person's standards can be different. I'm glad you were able to find a way to accommodate your special requirements. Dennis & Jen

Great Hideaway for relaxing girls trip!

  • 4 of 5

We wanted a place set back in the mountains that we could relax and the Heavenly Hideaway was the perfect location. Sitting out on the deck in the mornings listening to the bird and watching the sun rise was my favorite time, I even got to see several deer run through! The hot tub was exactly what we needed. We came out for our annual girls trip and could not have asked for anything better. It was a quick trip back to town or to Mueller State Park to hike. Thank you for letting us enjoy your hideaway!
