Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)
This beautiful one-bedroom (50 sq meters - 540 sq feet) is in the historic Marais district : the address is Rue Vieille du Temple, a stone throw from Rue des Francs Bourgeois. With its 17th century beamed ceilings, it is indeed typical of the area.
The apartment is located on the second french floor with elevator (third floor US).
The furnishing and amenities are good quality, in a tasteful contemporary parisian style, with clean lines and a controlled use of color.
The living room enjoys a particularly bright and airy feel, thanks to the very high ceilings and tall twin window bays (street facing, with double glazing).
The bedroom is perfectly peaceful, thanks to a courtyard orientation.
The kitchen is equipped with all you would need for cooking (hob, extractor, dish washer, microwave, all dishes and utensils, etc.)
The bathroom is well designed and has a shower cabinet and wash basin.
This apartment has all that one would hope for in terms of brightness, peace and quiet, comfort, modern amenities and style.

Why Carole chose Les Archives
The area is very central, lively and has a delightful Parisian village-like atmosphere. The historic Marais is perhaps the most popular choice for Paris vacations. The wonderful patina of the historic 17th-century buildings is sharply enhanced by the designs and colors of as many forward-looking boutiques. Cafés, restaurants and museums abound. Living here, you'll have everything within immediate walking distance and won't have to use public transport.
What makes this Apartment unique
This elegant one-bedroom of 50sq meters (540 sq feet) located on the 2nd french floor (3rd floor US) with elevator offers a stylish and spacious living room with high ceilings that retain their 17th-century beams. The large living room windows open onto a typically charming Marais sidestreet with fashionable boutiques and restaurants just around the corner. The courtyard-facing bedroom is perfectly quiet, so you’re sure to sleep well. With double sleeper sofa in the living room, and a bathroom accessible from the hallway, the apartment accommodates 2 to 4 guests.

Carole made it easy to travel to Paris! I highly recommend the location. The apartment met all of our needs and then some. Le Marais is lovely with cafe's, restaurants and shops on every street. My daughter and I found Paris to be friendly, and we were able to walk everywhere. From the apartment, it's a 5 to 10 minute walk to Notre Dame and from there we were able to stroll the banks of the Seine to any location our hearts took us. All the walking made it easy to enjoy guilt free pain au chocolate!
Good value and location
Positives: The flat is well located. It is fairly spacious with a kitchen, bedroom, and large living area. The price was good for the neighborhood - which is wonderful and convenient to restaurants and transit. It has many windows for fresh air and light. The kitchen was well-appointed. The building felt secure and had an elevator. The owner was accommodating in allowing us to drop our bags before check-in. The instructions should be revised to say “exit the elevator to the right - it is the first door on the right, in the small alcove”. We spent some time knocking on the wrong door. There was a complimentary bottle of wine.
Negatives: The decor seemed tired (dusty old plastic plants, 1980s brown and tan throughout) and the flooring (woven sea grass) was uncomfortable on stockinged feet - and there are a few “spongy” spots. Some of the linens had suspect stains (duvet, bottom sheet, and towels), and the bathroom wall tile had “stuff” on it. There were 2 extra pillows - but no pillow cases for them. The upstairs neighbors are noisy and stay up late, and there was a TV or radio playing all night in the flat right below the bed - so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The smoke alarm started blaring for no cause - we called the owner who directed us to a ladder and told us to take the detector down and remove the battery - it was not repaired or replaced during our stay. There is a hairdryer but no outlet in the bathroom or near the bedroom mirror - so awkward.
All-in-all, a good value and my complaints might be too picky. But they are the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.
The perfect place for us!
Ben and I had the good fortune to stay at this apartment for 2 1/2 weeks and it was perfect for us. The owner, Carole, has been very responsive and helpful.
The location of the apartment is great. While staying here, you are in the middle of everything - with great shops and restaurants right out the front door!
The photos are accurate. It is a bright apartment even in the winter months when we were there. The elevator is a treat after walking the many miles we walked every day. The apartment has everything one would need and it is kept up to date and very clean and neat. The washer/dryer came in very handy for us - it is amazingly quiet! The booklet they have prepared has information about everything one would need to know, including instructions for all the appliances in the apartment. The wifi signal is strong; we didn't watch TV but it is there. The living room is very large and it is a very comfortable space to relax. You'll have a good night's sleep in the very comfortable bed and you will enjoy the good, strong hot water in the shower!
We felt very safe and secure and hated to leave at the end of our stay.
We would definitely stay here again.
Great apartment and great location
Everything was great, from check in to check out! No problems whatsoever. Would definitely stay again.
A wonderful spot
We just returned from a three week stay at Carole's apartment and would return in a minute. The apartment is quiet, warm and very nicely appointed. it is quite large by Parisian standards with a spacious living room, bedroom, nice kitchen, and compact, but perfectly nice bathroom. The location is great--close to good restaurants and shops and a great spot from which to venture out into other parts of the city. We have stayed in a number of apartments in Paris over the years and would put this one at the top of the list.
Wonderful apartment in historic area of Paris
Very comfortable apartment in a great area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The neighbors were a bit noisy, but we let Carole know and she has said that she will address this issue. The apartment was clean, comfortable and welcoming.
