Dawn Beach Estates Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths plus patio shower (Sleeps 6)

Welcome to Villa Sea Watch, an elegant Mediterranean villa with Caribbean décor. Nearly 3000 square feet of Caribbean open views, its pool and patio sitting sentinel right over the ocean, with amazing views of St. Barths, St. Kitts and St. Eustatia. Sea Watch has three bedrooms, three and a half baths, and is newly remodeled, inside and out. Private, private, private! Caribbean splendor describes Villa Sea Watch, enveloped by lush tropical gardens, plenty of private parking, and every room enjoys ocean views. Every bedroom is en suite and has its own private balcony over the sea.

If you do feel like tearing yourself away from this luxurious villa for happy hour, gorgeous Dawn Beach, is just a short walk away. It’s the five-star Westin Resort and Casino's beach bar and seaside pool, lined with tall palm trees on both sides. Gorgeous… and fun. A must see. Mr. Busby's Beach Bar and several other four star restaurants also nearby. Canoa on the pier is great as well.

After a day at the beach, the peace and serenity of Sea Watch are so very welcome. Party or relax in the sun’s rays and refresh yourself in the pool, perched on the cliff's edge. The full service wet bar is right next to the patio! Make yourself a frozen drink, turn on the stereo, sit on a lounge and relax. Enjoy outdoor dining with unbeatable ambiance. El fresco dining is easy, too, with our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Or enjoy grilling fresh seafood or steaks on the patio with the spectacular views all around you, the sound of the surf and a summer breeze. If you are not into al fresco dining, the large formal dining room, sunny breakfast room also overlook the sea. All dining areas enjoy spectacular views. Afterwards, relax and enjoy the piece and thrill of stargazing. Shooting stars are common from Sea Watch's patio.

PRIVACY is provided by your own tropical gardens of palm trees, fig trees and bougainvillea, that envelop one side of the patio, and wrap around the rest of the villa. Tropical gardens and turquoise sea! Privacy is also due to the dead end road. Your unparalleled views are the turquoise sea, St. Barths and tropical paradise; the sounds are the lull of the surf and the sugarbirds in the morning. Morning and evening walks are lovely as well in our friendly neighborhood.

There are arge flat screen TV's in Living room and MBR, but there's no entertainment quite like star gazing on the ocean (which we are), watching shooting stars or the full moon over the water. There's cable, wifi, cell phone, high quality linens, beach towels, coolers for the beach, airport/car rental meeting with our local agent who will escort you to Sea Watch, give you keys and show you how everything works. There's a large full service wet bar in the living room right off the patio... how convenient! And guests leave leftover booze in the bar, as well as beer in the bar refrigerator. Make a drink and sit by, or in, the pool and watch St. Barths or the occasional dolphins. Our ocean-front, pool patio is a blast... or you could just relax with a book and listen to the surf.

We only charge our guests for the number of bedrooms used and/or number of people you have in your party. But the whole villa is yours, whether two people or six.

Conceived for those who truly enjoy luxury and getting away from it all.

About Cherie Santasiero

We first fell in love with Villa Sea Watch, in Dawn Beach Estates, in 1992, after falling in love with St. Maarten/St. Martin in 1983. We enjoy the privacy of the estates and Dawn Beach, only steps away. We have stayed on other parts of the island, but nothing beats the feel of community here, surrounded by mountains and turquoise ocean, and some of the best food anywhere! We truly enjoy great food and drink, and we can stay right in our own area, nestled between Dawn Beach and Oyster Pond with its lovely European looking marina, a short distance to French St. Martin. We absolutely LOVE romantic, fun, SXM!

Cherie Santasiero purchased this villa in 2005

Why Cherie Santasiero chose Dawn Beach

Living luxury right over the ocean! A short walk to Dawn Beach and Westin Resort and Casino, and 4 & 5 star restaurants everywhere right in the neighborhood, yet peaceful and quiet, away from the noise. From Villa Sea Watch, you can walk to Dawn Beach, one of the most beautiful displays of turquoise water anywhere. Sleep or relax to the soothing sound of the surf. If you like snorkeling, Dawn Beach has a live coral reef! Busby's Beach Bar is the best, day or night, among other great restaurants, right on Oyster Bay. Walk to The Westin for happy hour, also right on the beach.

We have stayed in different villas and luxury resorts, but Villa Sea Watch is conveniently located to great food, beach, great beach bars and the best, tremendous views of St. Barth's, and the most incredible turquoise ocean. It feels like home. We wanted to be on the ocean, but not right on a beach, because we like more privacy. The villa sits atop lava rock, so it is protected, yet only a few feet from the ocean. Every room overlooks the sea. The pool hangs over the ocean's edge, and there is always a breeze. We eat and live on the patio! Of course, the pool and patio just happen to be a few steps away from the fully equipped wet bar! The people of St. Maarten are sweet and friendly, too.

What makes this villa unique

This is in an elite, private, quiet gated community. People know each other and are friendly. This somewhat off-the-main path community has everything: glorious beach with a live coral reef, fantastic beach bars, Westin Resort within walking distance, which has a full service casino, and several restaurants. We can drive to 'the action' if we like; what's best is that we come home to a peaceful evening. The tropical gardens surround the villa and patio/pool. We enjoy peaceful nights sitting on the patio watching a magnificent sky loaded with stars we never get to see at home (and we live in the country!). We also have the most incredible photos of the full moon over the ocean. You can see St. Barths, St. Kitts, Nevis and Eustacia in the distance. Heavenly.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Cherie, what a fab trip we had. The house was just as we remembered it to be (had been there last in 90's). Our friends truly loved it as much as we did. Hopefully we can return next year! We have some great photos as well as memories. Too bad we lost so much money at the Westin ;( Good fun!

Thanks,

Chris M.

Beautiful home and ocean view

  • 5 of 5

Villa Sea Watch is named correctly. It sits on top of a rocky cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with nothing to block the view.

The pictures on the website accurately show the home, and it's even better in person. Each of the three bedrooms are very large, with comfortable beds, terrific sunrise ocean views, air conditioning and private bathrooms. The master bedroom is alone on the upper level with a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. The home would work well for three couples.

The main level has a dining room, living room, kitchen, wet bar, breakfast area, and two bedrooms. The open-concept dining/living/kitchen areas are not air conditioned, but are screened in and get a constant breeze when all windows are opened.

The pool is large and deep, and the deck has both sunny and shaded areas, plus a propane grill for outdoor cooking. It's a great spot to watch and listen to the ocean.

The home is in a private gated neighborhood, so traffic is nearly non-existent - no road noise at all. The area is a near the Westin hotel/casino (a five minute drive on a truly rotten road - but it's passable if you go slow and pick your spots), and several beach bars and restaurants.

Cherie, the owner, was a delight to work with. She responds quickly, and went above and beyond what we would expect to make our stay a memorable one. We highly recommend the home, and would definitely return.

Owner's Response: Dear Alan, Thank you for a beautiful and well-thought review. I just may use it for our description! We appreciate the time you spent writing this. Did you take a walk to the Westin side of Dawn Beach? We walk almost every morning and enjoy the peace and beauty before people go onto the beach. But the most fun and five-star restaurants are on the other side. And you are right about the road. We have a few jokes about it. Luckily it's short. Thanks again, and remember that we always give discounts to repeat renters. OH: Roselia said you guys were immaculate! We appreciate that too! Best regards, Cherie Santasiero

Love Sea Watch!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Sea Watch in October 2015 and it was the best place I had ever been. The views and the home itself are second to none. Everything is top quality! The owners were overly compensating! We received a wonderful gift basket upon our arrival. I was just reading the review that an unhappy renter left. I cannot believe that they had one thing to complain about! We had an unforgettable time at Sea Watch and would go back in a moment given the opportunity!

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, You are soooo sweet to write this review! Thank you so much. I hope people reviewing this realize that I do not know you personally. There are some people who will never be happy, no matter what you do for them. I went out of my way for them, just as I do for all my guests. They wanted to leave at 6:30 pm when I had other guests arriving at 4:00! As you know, I stay personally involved with our guests and do whatever I can to make their stay the best vacation ever. I am happy that you had a great time. Thank you for taking the time to write this. Again, I very much appreciate your feedback on this matter. Cherie Santasiero

Disepointed. ...pictures should be updated

  • 2 of 5

Great view but not the house we expected.Matresses in the kids room are impossible to sleep on.Our girls tried for 2 nights and then decided to come and sleep with us.

Two days after we arrived we wanted to do some laundry but found wet smelly towels still in the washer!!We realized that this might have been the case with the towels we are using and the sheets we are sleeping in.That day we bought detergent, washed and dried everything, also requested to have no cleaning from them until the end of our stay:we didn't want to start all over again...It is disepointing to pay the price of a 4-5 stars hotel and not have a confortable, clean bed to sleep in.

Owner's Response: Dear readers, Our housekeeper left towels in the washer, because the guests arrived hours earlier than they were supposed to and she was still cleaning. They wanted her gone. All photos ARE updated and recent. Mattreses and beds are new. All linens are top quality, and the kitchen is less than a year old. All new tile throughout, new bathrooms, furniture, and more, over $200,000.00 is upgrades. This is the first time I've heard a complaint. The man called our agent to complain saying he was staying till 3:00! When I finally reached them to explain I had other renters arriving the first thing he said was, "First, Missus, the property is beautiful and very clean, but I AM staying and I AM recording this! We talked to owner who said we can stay till 3:30.". I said "I AM the owner and I never spoke with you nor gave permission to stay unless I had no renter coming. Your wife was supposed to call me to ask or check our calendar. If no renter is coming, they could stay until 11:30, NEVER 3:30 I told him we had another family coming and it takes 7 hours to clean. He told our agent, and me, "I don't care!" Our agent was shocked at his behavior. The rental agreement also states "garbage must be taken to dumpster." They left a weeks worth of trash inside. I had to hire a man to take it and spray. I believe this poor review, which is the only one we've ever had, is because the renter refused to leave at check out (10:00 am), and insisted they would leave at 3:30 p.m. "because the owner ok'd it", which is not true. The housekeeper fled in tears and called me. This was the most upsetting and horrible experience I've EVER had from a renter. As usual I bent over backwards to help these people, with a rental discount, car rental rates, a large welcome basket.. I have emails from the Mrs. telling me how nice and helpful I am, and how beautiful the villa is. I suspect nothing will please these renters. They over-reacted because they had to abide by the rental agreement. They stayed until 11:30 anyway. It is not an owner's fault for late flights out. My agent had to check to be sure they were gone. They abused our housekeeper, agent and me. We are amazed at this renter's abusive and deplorable behavior. Please check out our reviews and you will see, since 2005 when we bought this villa, I spend a lot of time giving great care and personal service to our guests. Sincerely, Dr. Cherie Santasiero

Our Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location. That’s the realtor’s mantra. It’s clear that Villa Sea Watch has a magnificent location. An unbelievable view. Villa Sea Watch seems like our second home. Our family of six adults has stayed at VSW four times, all magnificent vacations. I don’t think it’s just the familiarity with the property that makes it seem like home. VSW is a comfortable, spacious, well designed villa with plenty of essentials and then some. There’s something else about VSW that makes it feel like home to us. We love the villa, the furniture, the appliances, the linens, the towels…and the gas grill. But I think the thing we love most about the villa is the view and the privacy. The villa design makes it possible for our three couples to each have a perfect view of the ocean and St. Barts in the distance either as a couple, alone, or enjoying the view with the family. We can relax by the pool or pool deck just gazing at the beautiful water and sky, and there’s no one else around. Villa Sea Watch provides us privacy from ourselves when we want it and privacy from others when we’re just doing nothing around the pool as a family. Whenever we look out from our private balconies or relax by the pool, we are there alone and for the time we are there it is ours, our vacation home. When we return to Sint Maarten/St. Martin, Villa Sea Watch will be our first choice for our home away from home.

We never wanted to leave!

  • 5 of 5

We had so many plans to explore the island since it was our first time visiting, but that all changed once we made it to the house. It was perfect for us and our friends. We grocery shopped enough for a few days at a time so that we could just stay home, lounge around the pool, gaze at the ocean and watch the iguanas move around slowly. The people that we met along the way were very friendly and helpful. Our only major outings were to Busby's for lunch, Sunset Grille to watch the planes and we spent the day on the Random Wind as recommended by the owner (you can see my full review on Trip Advisor for the RW - we loved it!). All of our trips were wonderful but we really just kept wanting to get back to the house. The new kitchen is nice and the new appliances were great to cook with. We loved opening up the house in the morning and feeling it cool down with the ocean breezes. If I did it again (and I hope to), I would not rent a car. We found a reasonable driver with a nice vehicle that took us on our limited excursions. That is just my preference since we really did not leave the house much and the roads can be a little dicey in places.

Perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5

> Thanx again for letting us stay at your home on St. Maarten. We had a wonderful time. For me it was the first time in the Caribbean, but my husband has already visited a few islands and he definetely voted St. Maarten to be his favourite. The island definetely lives up ist nickname starting with Alain at the Airport, continued with Roselia who actually rode with me to the gas station the first night so I wouldn't get lost and then on to pretty much everyone we met. We couldn't do as much as we'd liked because my husband was on crutches the whole time due to a skiing accident back in February, but that only means we'll definetely have to come back some time soon.
