About the property

Luxury Home - 6 Bedrooms/4 Baths (Sleeps 12) with mountain views

Perfect for any time of year, this luxurious mountain log home is twenty steps from the banks of the Gallatin River where the movie 'A River Runs Through It' was filmed. Breathtaking mountain vistas abound from every window. The gurgle of the Gallatin River lulls you to sleep and when you wake, Montana wildlife is right outside your door. This home is ideal for amazing flyfishing trips, skiing and winter sports excursions, and anything you can possibly do in the wide, wonderful outdoors of Western Montana.

If you are looking for winter skiing, Big Sky Ski Resort (11 miles away) is aptly called 'the biggest skiing in America'. You can literally go from the door of this log home to sitting on a ski lift at Big Sky or Moonlight Basin ski areas within 30 minutes. When you return from skiing, warm yourself in front of the nearly two-story river rock fireplace or in the soothing hot tub of this beautiful log home. The serene setting of this home is protected by special easements and regulations which prevent further development, so the majestic mountain views are unspoiled from development.

In addition to the blue ribbon trout fishing literally 20 steps outside the back door, this location offers hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing into the mountains. This gorgeous log home is situated within an hour's drive of at least six blue ribbon trout streams in Western Montana. Yellowstone National Park, the first gem of the National Park System with all of its beauty and geologic mystery, is a mere 45 minute drive from the front door of this spectacular log home.

Also available within a 30 minute drive is championship golf, kayaking, whitewater rafting, snowmobiling, sleigh rides and snow coach tours. For those who wish to be pampered, the spas at Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin Resort offer massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and other spa services. Shopping and 5-star dining are also close at hand from this idyllic mountain retreat.

This log home is fully furnished with plenty of lounging space on the open deck overlooking the river. Inside, there is a comfortable and welcoming decor to make everything pleasing on the senses. This home comes fully furnished with all of the comforts one would expect, including DVD player, large flat screen satellite television, and full WiFi connectivity to the internet. The well-equipped kitchen is fully furnished with all cooking utensils and appliances. This log home also has a laundry room, including full sized washer and dryer.

This spacious log home has six bedrooms, which include two loft bedrooms upstairs that enjoy nearly floor to ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the river and mountains. Also on the second floor is a game room with large card table, board games, books, puzzles and other items of interest. This home also includes a special winter sports drying system which will dry your wet gloves and ski boots in record time, so that you start each skiing day with warm, dry outdoor apparel.

On the main floor are two master bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms. The master suite off the riverside of the home opens directly onto the deck where the hot tub is located, allowing you to relax in the hot tub as you listen to the river roll by only 50 feet away.

The lower level has two bedrooms, with one of the bedrooms adjoining a living area which includes a well-equipped professional desk (for those who insist on working during their vacation), as well as a couch which converts to a queen-size sofa sleeper.

All in all, this home is carefully planned and equipped to maximize your carefree leisure and fun in Montana’s Big Sky country.

Big Fun at Big Sky

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, the fireplace warm and inviting. Loved the artwork. The hot tub rejuvenating. Great location. The river was wonderful, not much luck catching, the otter did better than us.The views are breath taking. The skiing at Big Sky was loads of fun, Santa on the zipline was a hoot. Yellowstone snowmobiling was exhilarating. Hiking and sledding in Hyalite Canyon was fun. The rustic beauty of Montana will not be forgotten. The secretary/owners were great people to work with.

Love it!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was everything we had hoped and in the perfect setting. We loved that it was in a quiet area but close to the main highway. The location felt rural, yet convenient to everything Big Sky has to offer. The cabin was nicely furnished and well stocked with everything we needed. While there, we enjoyed river rafting, horseback riding, the Lone Mountain excursion and several days at Yellowstone, plus just sitting on the deck taking in the view of the mountains and river! We all wished we could stay longer!

Incredible river view

  • 5 of 5

Nothing more relaxing than running water and the closeness to the Gallatin river was inspiring. The cabin is well stocked with many amenities such as a hot tub, games & books. The furnishings were perfect and added to the rustic charm. What a perfect end to a vacation after racing around Yellowstone for 3 days. Enjoyed trout from the river and the short thunderstorms at this time of year. Many options for activities in the area & Big Sky has a great grocery store that has unique food items. Great place for activities or just enjoying the deck listening & watching the river.

Perfect for a nice and relaxing weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

It really is luxury in a quiet rural setting. The cabin is located conveniently just on highway 191, but still far away enough from it so that you don't hear the sound of traffic. The cabin has a deck accessible from the main room and the master bedroom. A well maintained green lawn separates the deck from the Gallatin river. Across on the other side is a small hill(mountain?), and there are views of mountains all around, the night sky lights up brilliantly, the perfect setting for the shutterbugs.

The cabin itself is very spacious, well lit and provides all the amenities one could require; utensils, towels, grill, fireplace etc.etc. We were surprised to find a stocked spice cabinet (left by previous renters I presume). We made use of it and made our contribution as well when we left. The hot tub outside on the deck was also great. After a day of adventures, when you relax in the hot tub, under the brilliant night sky...and the sound of the gushing river you get an almost spiritual experience.

We didn't feel like leaving at the end of our trip :). We will definitely be back here.

Thanks for a wonderful time.

Nice spot on the river

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived the cabin was ready, with very nice scents in the bedrooms. Nice touch. We has snow the first evening which made the hot tub enjoyable.

Everything was close to the cabin; we even found some hiking trails nearby.

This would've a great place for a girls (or guys) weekend getaway.
