Lancaster Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms * 3 Baths, 2 big family rooms * HUGE screened porch 2 - 14 NIGHT STAY

Go to rates for price breakdown. The moment we first laid eyes on this circa 1750 sandstone farmhouse, we knew immediately what an incredibly special home it was. We are thrilled to share this beautiful piece of history with you. Your friends and family will cherish the vacation memories made here, and you'll love the private in-ground pool and 18' screened porch. It is privately situated in the peaceful village of Lampeter where you will have easy and quick access to all the attractions that define the Lancaster County experience. This home has been expertly renovated and tastefully appointed with high quality furnishings for maximum comfort and a mix of antiques that compliment its place in history as one of Lancaster’s seven original farmhouses. Not only will you be surrounded by an authentic piece of Lancaster’s past, but you will be enveloped by all the comforts of the modern world. This home boasts flat screen TVs, high speed Internet, top of the line appliances, and central air and a 9 foot dining room table big enough for the whole gang.

You will instantly feel right at home. The exterior of the home is equally as fabulous with a spectacular, private in-ground pool, a spacious screened porch right off the kitchen and family room, plus professional landscaping. You will not soon forget your vacation at The Carpenter House—you will not be disappointed!

FYI...This home is one of two historic gems we offer for vacation rentals, and both homes are large enough for your entire family. The Stone Home at Shallowbrook Farm (properrt #156751) is on a 50 acre horse farm, has Amish neighbors, and a private in-ground POOL.

We also have an adorable COTTAGE with 2 bedrooms, den with queen sleeper and 2 full baths. Sleeps 4 - 6 comfortably. Take a look at homeaway property # 3540938

We had a wonderful stay! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and welcomed. I loved the history behind the house and its historical significance. Every detail of the decor is exquisite, and we loved the homemade cookies!

The home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

The area and house was wonderful. Many sights and stores near to house made it convent to travel to. Also, their were many place to eat out if you wish. The house was equally wonderful, the owners made sure all areas were ready for our stay. Their were many activities for the children and adults to be active in or they could just relaxes. The house was comfortable and very well setup, it was warm and inviting to stay there.

Absolutely perfect home

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our stay at the Carpenter House 12/17/15 - 01/03/16 and it was an experience I am glad I had.

First of all, Wanda and Lindsay were so helpful prior to our trip by answering my e-mails promptly, which I greatly appreciated.

This home is so clean, beautifully decorated and you just feel "at home". No matter what I say in this review it can not compare with one's own experience, just know that this property is one you can not pass up. There were days that we chose to just "stay home" and relax during our stay and it was quite pleasant.

Thank you so much Wanda and Lindsay for the Christmas gifts, you are so kind.

Exceptional Property that is Impeccably Maintained

  • 5 of 5

Just completed our December 2015 stay at this property. The property was decorated, both inside & outside, for Christmas. Was hoping for a winter wonderland but not this year as December temperatures were above normal. Thank you for allowing others to share this piece of heaven!

The Carpenter House is an excellent example of a pristine farm house from days gone by. This spacious property is conveniently located to many restaurants, attractions & shopping opportunities on Route 30 and surrounding towns. The property functional, comfortable and is impeccably maintained. The house is distinctly decorated with many period pieces; however, the necessities needed to enjoy modern conveniences and comfort have not been overlooked. The upscale furnishings did not go unnoticed. The rooms are apportioned perfectly. The 4 bedrooms offer a wonderful night's rest with plenty of storage space. The beds & linens are extremely comfortable & the property was very quiet.

The kitchen is well equipped with top of the line appliances and a wide variety of cooking accessories. We loved the handcrafted Amish dining room table. We enjoyed our meals here as well as each other's company.

We loved playing foosball & enjoyed several games of tic tac toe with the oversized play pieces.

The pool was closed for winter. However, the pool/patio area is beautiful & very functional.

The attention to detail is evident from the moment you drive up to the property and continues in every room of this beautiful home. Treat yourself, book this fabulous rental and you will not be disappointed.

The rental process was simple & pleasant. Multiple e-mail inquiries were answered in a prompt & efficient manner. Various brochures pertaining to the surrounding areas and things to do are available at the house for perusal. House rules are very clear & posted for easy viewing. It is very obvious that much thought has been spent on making this the perfect rental & they have succeeded in doing just that! Should your travel destination include Lancaster County, PA I would highly recommend this rental property.

The plate of baked good waiting for us upon our arrival was most welcoming. They were delicious & very much appreciated.

Loved our stay & would return again and again and again!

Wonderful Home, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We rented the beautiful Carpenter House for 8 family members while in the Lancaster area for my nephew's wedding. The house is extremely comfortable and furnished with lovely antiques. It was late September with warm sunny days and cool nights and mornings. We spent our morning hours and cocktail time in the lovely screened in room. It was a terrific trip and the perfect location for our family. We would highly recommend the Carpenter House to anyone who is traveling in the Lancaster area. We visited the Central Market and also Shady Maple along with stops at antique shops and roadside markets. Wanda and Lyndsay Poole, the owners, were exceptionally nice to deal with. They provided the name of a local bakery and supermarket, along with a travel brochure for our convenience before we arrived. We would love to book a return trip during the warm summer months to enjoy the beautiful pool!

Wonderful place for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We went our family of 11, including 5 children under 6. The house was immaculate and had beautiful furnishings, lots of attention to detail. Our family spent lots of time in the screened porch beside the pool with ample seating for everyone in our party. The pool was very refreshing, especially when we came back from Dutch Wonderland, or riding the Strasburg railroad. The living room and family made it roomy enough so that the family could spread out. The kids loved going over to the school next door and playing on the playground. There was also a track for the adults or some just took runs on the country roads. We loved our vacation at the Carpenter House!

Spacious, charming, and a great owner!

  • 5 of 5

This house is as charming as the pictures would lead you to believe and is incredibly spacious. The pool is great and well maintained, and we ate all of our meals in the screened porch overlooking the pool, which is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. Additionally, the house is centrally located for all of the main Lancaster attractions, yet situated in a location that was quiet and peaceful and made us feel as though we got a genuine Lancaster experience with many horses and farms in the immediate vicinity. The fact that this property is adjacent to a school was an additional plus for us because of the school's outstanding playground. Finally, Wanda, the owner, was incredibly accommodating regarding a number of special requests, for which we are very grateful. It is worth noting if you have young children as we do that there are many antiques in all areas of the house and you will need to be diligent.
