This spacious and elegant property is a 70 m2 (approximately 720 ft2) apartment, on the 3rd floor (with elevator) of a traditional Parisian building, protected with a coded door and buzzer. It is situated in the heart of the Haut Marais, right behind the newly renovated “Carreau du Temple”. It is a very short walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) from the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Center, and approximately 15 minutes from Place des Vosges. For the exact location, please see the map.
There is a direct bus (96) taking you to Notre Dame, Saint Germain des Près and the Left Bank, the bus stop being 3 minutes away, and direct metro taking you to the Opera (Temple station 2 minutes away). A second bus (75), opposite the metro station, also takes you directly to Pont Neuf and the Louvre. A block further, you can get anywhere in the city from République station, a major intersection of metro lines and buses. The Rue de Bretagne right round the corner is a market street, hosting the city's oldest covered market, the 'Marché des Enfants Rouges', open every day except Sunday afternoon and Monday. All the hip bars and restaurants are around you, and the trendy rue Charlot with its young designers’ boutiques and vintage fashion shops is literally 3 blocks away! The farthest you will need to walk to get anywhere in the Marais will be 15 minutes.
The apartment is composed of a double living room, 2 bedrooms (one master with double bed and one smaller with two single beds that can be put side to side to make a king), a bathroom with bathtub, a kitchen and a walk-in closet. It's a beautiful, sunny apartment, with hardwood and old tile floors, as well as double glazed windows and individual gas heating and hot water. The master bedroom is very large and has an independent built-in long desk and two full height windows facing south, overlooking a beautiful brick school which is in retreat from the road. The living room has 2 windows in the same orientation as the master bedroom and another one opposite, a decorative fireplace and many old wooden details. The smaller bedroom has hardwood floors and 2 large windows overlooking a quiet side street (dead end). The apartment is equipped with large refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, stove, oven/microwave, espresso machine, kettle and toaster. High-speed internet connection with WiFi, cable TV and phone for unlimited local and international (for selected destinations) calls are all included in the price.
You will be greeted personally to exchange keys and receive explanations how everything works. I will always be at your disposal to give you advice and information about the city, and help you out should you need anything.

Christiana purchased this apartment in 2002
Great location, lively, chic and trendy.
Elegantly decorated by an interior designer, filled with sunlight, very quiet, fully equipped, large living spaces, Parisian feeling.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in this perfect little apartment. We were so happy and comfortable for the few days we spent here. This is the perfect location and we were able to get everywhere easily. We loved all the cafés and restaurants nearby. We will be back for sure! Best wishes from London and the US.
As usual, Christiana was fantastic. We have stayed with her numerous times in the past but never this location. It was gorgeous, spacious and had everything we needed. We will always try to stay in one of the location she manages when visiting Paris!
I really enjoyed the stay.
The apartment is clean and cozy. Though it is in the old building, there is a small elevator so it is easy to carry luggage. The manager is kind enough. The location is so good. There is a market nearby. There are good restaurants and cafes around the neighborhood. Metro stations are walkable. I would like to stay again when I visit Paris.
Appartement fort bien avec une atmosphère très sympa. Dès notre arrivée, nous nous sommes senti à la maison. Emplacement charmant avec vue dégagée et agréable, très lumineux. Accueil chaleureux et suivi attentif. Nous allons revenir.
My husband and I stayed in the Lighthouse apartment for a month and would go back in a heartbeat. The location was excellent with two Metro stops ~ Temple a "local" and République city-wide ~ an easy walk away. There's a Monoprix around the corner with enough wine so you could buy a different bottle s day for three years, the BEST patisserie in Paris called La Festive at rue des Archives #78, the marché des Enfants Rouges on the rue Bretagne (don't miss the Moroccan take-away). Plenty of cafés and restaurants to feed you for weeks. There are two interesting museums in the neighborhood: the Musée des Artes et Métiers and the Musée es Chasse et Nature. We had never been to either and enjoyed them both. As for the apartment itself, it was as comfortable and easy to live in as one could want. Having two bedrooms allowed us to have our daughter as a visitor for several days. There is a very comfortable sofa in the living room, a large dining table and 6 chairs, a double bed in one bedroom, twins in the other. Bed linens are good quality, lovely down duvets for the cool nights. The rooms are light and airy, the sun pours into the tall windows in the living room and master bedroom. The kitchen is perfectly adequate and quite sizable for a Parisian apartment. Since we like to shop the local markets and cook, that's a plus. Likewise the bathroom actually has enough room to move around! We had only two glitches. The first was the microwave that gave up the ghost shortly after our arrival but was replaced later. The second was the same as another guest reported; the hot water heater had a mind of its own but we learned how to live with it. The concierge, Christiana, was so helpful and, when any problem occurred, she was right there to straighten it out. We could not have asked for a better caretaker. (4.5 stars)
Friends had recommended this apartment for our stay in Paris and we can't thank them enough.
Everything about this apartment was wonderful, from the location near the Republique metro to its vibrant surrounding neighbourhood. The rooms were full of light and furnished in a rustic modern style that suited the age of the building well. The apartment was very clean and well kept. Some of the furniture needs an overhaul (a couple of dodgy dining table chairs need fixing and a little more lamplight in the lounge area would help). Being an older building expect to hear the neighbours from time to time. Having laundry facilities and a working kitchen made life easy during our stay - all the better to enjoy the cheese and pastry purchases from our wanderings around the city! Our only hitch, and it was very minor, was the water heating system which was slightly erratic but we had been warned ahead of time by Christiana, our host, and at the time of our stay, she was waiting on repair people to fix the problem. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental for a holiday or business stay.
The main issue was where we were going to go on any given day; the Marais has so much to offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and parks that we were often tempted to stay in the 'hood and just hang out. For those who like to eat out, you are spoiled for choice but we loved Chez Paul bistro literally steps from the apartment. Local food shopping is excellent with the Marche des Enfants Rouges around the corner and a well stocked Monoprix close by as well as several of the best boulangeries and patisseries in the city. If you like longer walks you can promenade up the hill to Montmartre in 50 minutes or down to the Seine in 20.
Our experience with Christiana and her assistant, Janet was excellent. Both were so helpful and responsive to our questions before and during our trip and we look forward to booking another Paris holiday with them soon.
Really four and a half stars, only because the water heater was a little wacky the week we were there (Christiana said it's about to be fixed though.) The apartment is gorgeous, rustic with the fixtures and wood plank floors but so comfortably furnished, very airy and peaceful and in a really nice part of the Marais--central and full of character and cafes and little shops but also a nice amount away from the most intense retail part of the 3rd Arr. For us it was perfect, especially nice if you want bedrooms set on opposite sides of the apartment. It's also less than three minutes walk from two metro stops (Temple and Republique), and maybe five mins to all the stores and cafes and food stalls of Rue de Bretagne. (Lots of cafes/bistros right on the block as well.) Christiana was consistently nice and responsive about everything--she's there if you need her and leaves you alone if you don't. TV with some main English-language news channels were great to have pre-election and wi-fi was amazingly fast. Small elevator (super standard size for Europe) says it fits three people though two is more accurate unless you want to accidentally make out with your elevator mate. One more thing: have her show you the front-door lock when you arrive, it's easy once you get it but it's like a complicated handshake if you don't. Overall a really wonderful experience, definitely recommend whether you're new to Paris or come all the time~
In the heart of the hip and trendy Haut Marais, surrounded by restaurants and cafés, art galleries and young designer's boutiques, the apartment is on a quiet side street and is an oasis of tranquility, a stone's throw away from all the action. A park with playground a block away makes it ideal for families with young children. Transportation is ideal, with Temple station 2 minutes away and République station, a major node where 5 lines cross, another 2'. Many attractions like the Pompidou center and Picasso museum are within a 10' walk.
The Lighthouse is ideally located for a memorable parisian stay!
