PRIVATE BEACHFRONT LOCATION. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath, cozy home is the perfect romantic getaway, or gathering place with family and or friends. There are 2 twin beds, 1 king bed, and a day bed in the living room. We have a large shaded yard, and then you just step down onto the sand. The angled location of where our house sits offers some spectacular sun sets, and if you are adventurous, just walk along the beach and in about 15 minutes time, the houses will end, and you will truly feel like you are on your own private island.

Waialua was once a sugar mill town. The whole area except along the beach was nothing but Sugar cane fields. Many of the houses along Crozier Drive where our house sits were built for the owners and managers of the plantation. The mill had been in Operation from 1889 to 1996. The beach area that extends down to Kaena Point is called Mokuleia. Though our house is only about a 10 minute drive from Haleiwa, and about a 40 minute drive from Waikiki, it is still considered “country” and “rural”, being the least populated area on Oahu.

Our house is in a very private area of Mokuleia and though there are a row of houses along the beach, seldom do we have any neighbors visiting at the same time. Our yard and house is kept cool by the tropical breeze and by a canopy of kamani nut trees. In front of our house lies a beautiful and healthy shallow reef that extends roughly 200 yards out, making the water in front of our house very calm and with less people around, the area has been a favorite cursing area for honu, Hawaii Green Sea Turtles. You see them feeding on the reef, and many times taking a rest on the beach. Occasionally we even get Hawaiian Monk Seals taking naps on the beach. Both of these are protected Species and should NEVER be touched. Distance also must be kept if a seal happens to be taking a nap on the beach.

About Robert

My parents bought this house years ago. My family and I have many fond memories at the house. All of my children live on the Mainland, but they could never get enough of the ocean when they were younger and as adults when they come to visit with my grandchildren, they are all just amazed and have so much fun playing in the sand, and snorkeling out front, and watching the turtles swim around.

Robert purchased this house in 1938

What makes this house unique

In front of the house along the water is some sandstone with limu (seaweed) that the honu (turtles) like to eat. Turtles are often seen resting on the beach after filling their bellies up with limu. Also, you will not see more beautiful sunsets anywhere in the world. Our house sits at the perfect angle, and has some of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see. If you look close enough you might even see the green flash.

Magical stay

We stayed here for a month with our two little boys. We had been planning this trip forever. We have stayed in Hawaii many times before, and this was by far the best. If you want a fancy house...this isn't it. It's an old house. Some peeling paint...rusty original bedroom doorknobs..old furniture....etc. but we LOVED it. Coming "home" each day was the best part. It is EXACTLY as advertised: right on the sand. Super private beach. Charming, authentic, local residential street. Very clean. We went to bed each night listening to the ocean. Tons and tons of turtles every single day. The house next door to the right was empty the whole month except for 2 days...we were told it's been owned by same family we felt like we had a VERY private backyard space and made it even quieter at night. The property manager, Robert, was always available and quick to tend to any needs. Outdoor shower, deck, beach chairs, large table to eat dinner outside, laundry room, view of ocean. 10 minutes max drive to Haleiwa, our fave town. Local

Coffee shop right down the street Brew & Foam highly recommended. Great house!!!!

Very nice and comfy home on the beach

Totally enjoyed staying here despite the not so great weather and would definitely stay there again. It's a very comfy home with everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen stocked with plenty of staples to the nice laundry room. They even have lots of beach items including boogie boards and snorkel gear. We had four people staying and could easily add a couple more while remaining comfortable. Cable TV and Wi-Fi as well. The beach is not private but it sure felt that way and is about 50 yards from the back deck to the shoreline. Very nice beach area to snorkel and play. Or grab a beach chair from the house and just sit and relax. Overall a very nice place to stay, but know there is no A/C so the multiple fans in the home come in handy. Would definitely come back and I recommend you give it a try.

Wonderful home on the beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home on the beach. Nearly everything you could want or need is at the home. From snorkel gear, reef shoes, boogie boards, beach chairs, kitchen equipment, etc., it’s all there. The home was clean and the beds were comfortable. Robert, the property manager, is a great guy, very helpful and has a wealth of information on the area. The beach is not private, but public access points are several miles away each direction, so we only had a handful of other people pass by each day. There are many restaurants and shops in Haleiwa Town, about a 10 minute drive away.

The family that owns the home next door had a gathering one Saturday (they don’t live there full time) that we found enjoyable. They were very nice people and we enjoyed chatting with them, watching them fish, and watching the teenagers play in the ocean. They were doing the same thing we were…..enjoying their beach home.

We saw turtles in the ocean every day, and a few days one or two of them were sleeping on the beach right at the house. There’s a skydiving center several miles down the road, so we could sit on the beach watching the skydivers, surfers, and sailboarders in the distance. It was truly a great vacation.

What an amazing wonderland

How lucky we feel to have discovered your little bit of paradise! Our 4 and 6 year olds had the time of their lives snorkeling with turtles, swimming, and jumping (small) waves in your protected cove. The beach was empty most days, and we loved the easy access to town. The house was better furnished than any we've ever stayed in, including everything from taco spice to reef shoes. We were never without a thing, but if we had needed anything I am sure Robert would have taken care of it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Best vacation ever.

Nice Quiet Place

Our family spent 10 days here and couldn't have been happier. The house is on a quiet street with almost no traffic. There are plenty of towels and even a few different pillows to choose from. The fridge already had all your condiments, butter etc, the freezer has an ice maker. Washer/ dryer work fine, wifi is excellent, the tv is like a 24 inch and has all the cable channels. Beds were comfy, shower pressure is excellent, ceiling fans in all rooms but you rarely need them because open windows allow the breeze to flow through the house.. The view is just perfect as you can see the surf rolling in right from the window. Theres nobody on the beach either. You need to drive about 10 minutes to get to Haleiwa where you can find groceries, restaurants and other shopping and another 10 minutes to beautiful Waimea Bay. The property manager, Robert, couldn't have been nicer. He was available to answer questions or solve any problems but we had no issues at all. I don't know why anyone would stay in the Waikiki area when you can stay on the north shore. I couldn't believe the traffic jams on the freeways coming and going to Honolulu. Theres a million people around Waikiki and absolutely nowhere to park. I would recommend this place to everyone I know but the one thing the house didn't have was a colander for washing my grapes in the morning haha.. 4.99 out 5 because of this

Paradise found !!

Our family of four's first time staying at this property. The manager - Robert was a wonderful host from providing good communication prior to our arrival to welcoming and briefing us about the local sights. The property itself was perfect for us to just relax, reminiscence to stepping back in time when life was much slower and simpler. My family i are counting down the days to our next visit to our paradise found.
