Beautiful home but poor property management/concierge service
To sum up, beautiful house, great location, poor property management. Monica is noted as both providing concierge service and Property Manager. We ordered a large golf cart through her but received a small cart that we exchanged ourselves. We paid extra for "arrival package." Monica never greeted us. Rather, sent someone else who was short with us, showed up in swimwear saying she had to leave beach to show us the house, seemed annoyed she was there! Monica never communicated how we pay for pre-ordered groceries even though we reached out several times, nor did she tell us what form of payment was accepted. A woman arrived at house within an hour of check in wanting pesos for groceries. Good thing we had enough! The house code to enter front door provided through VRBO was wrong. The dipping pool had blue paint all along the edge of pool that was coming off on our back and legs. We notified Monica, the house manager on day 1 of 7 day trip. She informed us there was "no fresh paint, in fact the pool edge is natural cement." She asked for a pic, which we provided. She then said, "sorry for that." The day before checkout, we received a message from Monica stating cleaning service was at house and asking why we were not packed up as check out was 11:00. We informed we were scheduled to check out the next day. We have rented on island before, never had one problem. Upon return, we messaged property owner privately to express concerns but to our dismay, she was very dismissive. We were told the concierge service is a separate provider and the house is self-catering. We assumed (wrongly) that Monica would have informed the owner about paint, etc. but she did not.
Again, it's a lovely home, just managed poorly. After several email exchanges, owner did end up saying she would address concerns. But for our experience with property management, would have rated higher.
Hated to leave
Very comfortable with beautiful views. We enjoyed our stay very much. My favorite day of our trip was when the boys went fishing all day and I stayed at the house reading and relaxing by the pool. The home was so close to the sites we wanted to show the kids on the south end. We all enjoyed it very much.
Great Stay in Punta Sur.
Exactly as the listing says. One of the nicer homes we have stayed in during our past 6 years visiting Isla.
- Easy Check In
- Views that photos do no justice
- Great layout for a single couple, multiple couples, or family.
- Would be a great centerpiece to a big family get together on Isla.
- Easy communication with owner and property manager.
*Would Stay Again.
Perfect Isla House
We had such a wonderful stay at Casa Vaya Vida. This house has everything we wanted: space, views, a pool, big kitchen, a large master and quiet street. The home was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Will definitely rent again and recommend to friends & family who are considering traveling to Isla Mujeres! 5 out of 5.
Casa vaya viva
Amazing views, amazing house with lots of outdoor space and comfortable accommodations! We loved everything about our stay.
Another Wonderfal Trip to Isla
We always enjoy our return to the island and our stay at Casa Vaya Vida. One look at the view of Cancun and everything else in your life just seems to fade away. The Siman's are wonderful hosts and their staff take care of any issues should they arise. We spent most of our time out by the pool enjoying the view and the sunsets. I particularly like the sunrises as well but most people I travel with aren't morning people. If you happen to be you can go up to the palapa and look over to Cancun and it will be lit up with the lights in the hotels but everything else is dark. The sun will hit the buildings of Cancun before the sun rises almost like a flash light is on them. Then the sun starts to rise just like a reverse sunset. Take the time to watch one if you are a morning person. We cannot wait for our next trip and will certainly stay again. Hasta Leugo Isla.
