Petersdorf was first mentioned in the Waldemar Earth Book of 1230 as Pethaersthorp. In 1730 Petersdorf has 125 houses, 22 barns, 25 cowsheds and ten other buildings. A list of traders from the same year lists the following trades: three grocers, two barbers, four brewers, four blacksmiths, three glasses, one Peltzer, one wheeler, 13 shoemakers, ten tailors, four coopers, five woodturners, two carpenters Bricklayer and a wig maker.
There was a station in Petersdorf, which - converted into a residential building - is still preserved today in the main street on the southern edge of the village. Several meters of tracks are preserved and easy to see. However, the associated section of the island railway has been shut down since 1956 for passenger and since 1994 also for freight. On the route a bike path was created.
