Your fenced-in garden is the theme in this glassed French door enclosed room. A hand painted chest allows abundant storage and is topped with a swivel TV with VCR in order for you to watch in bed or while you relax in the Jacuzzi.

Also included is a double sink vanity with plenty of space for your toiletries. The attached bathroom has a glass enclosed jetted shower with seat and closet for your hanging clothes.

The loft adjoins the master bedroom and overlooks the living room. You can relax on the over-stuffed sofa with a good book, challenge yourself to a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, or play a board game on the large storage table.

Main Level and Lower Level Bedrooms

There are two additional bedrooms, one on the main floor and one on the lower level. Both rooms include King Beds, TVs and adjoining baths with whirlpool tubs. The main floor bedroom has a large armoire for clothing storage. A closet and chest is also provided in the lower bedroom for your vacation clothing. In addition, there is a Queen Size Sleeper Sofa on the lower level.

Enjoy cooking in or just heating a snack in the fully equipped kitchen. The refrigerator with ice-maker, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, built in microwave, and toaster assist in making any task easier. All dishes, glasses, utensils, and cookware are provided. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are all open to one another so you can enjoy each others company while preparing your meals. A peninsula counter allows seating for two additional guests in the dining area.

Dining Room

You’ll enjoy eating, talking, and sharing around the square hand painted dining table which seats eight. It’s also perfect for a peaceful game of cards after supper. The French doors lead to the upper deck. Grill your supper and enjoy eating at one of the two outdoor tables as you take in the evening views.

Living Room

The main focus in the living room is the floor to ceiling stone fireplace. You can relax on the leather couch and have an enjoyable evening watching your favorite cable programs.

Tune in to your favorite football or basketball game and enjoy a relaxing game of pool at the same time. You might prefer the competition of a Play Station game instead. Don’t forget the wet bar…for adult pleasure or for storing food for the downstairs guests.

Open the French doors and step outside to the covered deck. You won’t believe how tranquil it is to rock the time away during a gentle rain. Around the corner of the deck you’ll find your screened-in hot tub…perfect for your privacy and enjoyment.

About The Owner

Both of us grew up in our mountain county in North Carolina. My wife's family has actually lived here since 1791! I was able to take early retirement with a local plant and now work as a Church Administrator while she still teaches fourth grade. We both love reading and gardening. While I'm at the gym, she's involved in crafts and computer gaming.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2005

Why The Owner chose East

We began visiting the Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas as children. The visits continued as we shared the wonder of nature and mountain lore and crafts with our children. Our trips became so frequent, we finally decided to invest in our own cabin - The Potting Shed. A love of gardening, nature, and art made our choice of a theme easy.

What makes this cabin unique

Alpine Mountain Village is a perfect location...400 yards from shopping and ten minutes to Dollywood. Living only two hours from our cabin, we, of course, became season passholders and visit Dollywood almost every time we are here. Hiking and driving the Craft Loop are two other favorite pastimes. No trip is complete, however, without visiting the scrapbook store at Governor's Crossing to purchase everything needed to save the memories!

Wasnt what we expected

  • 3 of 5

I do believe this cabin could use some updates. The televisions are very out of date and they are not really expensive in the stores. The dishes could be better also. The cleaning crew really didnt do a great job with dust and dead bugs. The gas grill didnt work. The Christmas tree was up in the loft which made it hard for a family to open gifts on Christmas day. It wasnt the worst cabin ive stayed at average at best.

nice spacious cabin within a serene environment

  • 4 of 5

The Potting Shed cabin is really beautiful, clean and fully-equipped with the necessary items. It is a very spacious cabin with three floors with each private bedrooms and attached bathrooms that provided the privacy needed. The owner even took the time to decorate it with a gorgeous Christmas tree and other decorations to let us feel the holiday spirits early. It is located in the serene environment within the Alpine Mountain and great get-away from the hustle and bustle of life, and yet convenient to major shops that is approximately 15 minutes drive away.

We did however encounter some issues with our reservation taking awhile to be approved/processed, then we had to follow-up about instructions for check-in 2 days prior since we did not hear back from HomeAway at all. The owner was prompt to provide us with the check-in details though once we texted him. Upon our arrival we also encountered wi-fi issue (and the owner tried to help), but one of us had to actually call the ATT service provider ourselves to sort it out and help us to get on the internet instead. Though we had other issues during our stay, we had to give credit to the Alpine chalet management who had promptly addressed our other problems, such as replacing the gas cylinder the same night when the tank ran out of gas half-way during our grilling; as well as replacing the smoke alarm battery in our room which started beeping intermittently early in the morning waking us up; and the hot tub had a mild mew dew smell to it too.

I guess overall despite some of the kinks we've encountered with prior and during our stay, I have to say the beautiful cabin made up for it.

We arrived for our 4 day stay and were very pleasantly surprised at the condition and spaciousness of this amazing cabin. The photos on VRBO do not do justice to this amazing cabin. The owners and property management were very prompt and helpful to answer any of the little questions that we had. Each floor has it's own king size bedroom so we were never bothering each other while the others wanted to sleep. It is also very close to all of the entertainment and restaurants. The location could not be better. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Pigeon Forge and would urge others to as well.

Great weekend get away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cabin for a girl's get away. We had 8 people who all slept comfortably. King beds in every room were a plus. Cabin was clean and well equipeed. Decor and furnishing were all great! Plenty of room for parking multiple cars as this cabin is in the back of this development. Huge dining room table that we were all able to sit and eat at. Everyone in our group thought that this was a great cabin for a great price.

Great location but needs updates

  • 2 of 5

The location was great, but the cabin behind us was making a noise all week from their air unit. We called but nothing happened so we could not sit out on the deck without hearing this noise ever 10 mins. It leaked in to our bedroom and the bedroom below. Thank goodness this was at the end of the week. There is a step down when you turn around from washing your hands and my husband fell one day. This is in the upstairs bedroom. No privacy in upstairs bedroom. Jacuzzi tub was dirty when I turned on the jets it shot out black stuff everywhere. I got out quickly. Also, when we checked in the lady at the desk was not friendly or helpful. One day the cleaning crew parked outside our cabin with her feet propped up and we were fixing to call the police because she didn't identify herself and she sat there over an hour. The TV's are all outdated and no game system was downstairs. No DVD player on the main floor. Disappointed in SC

Owner's Response: I'm so sorry you had a bad experience when you stayed in our cabin. I'll try to address the issues in the order they were presented. We (nor our management company) have no control over difficulties in other cabins unless it is under the same management company; this cabin was not so there was nothing that could be done about their air conditioning. I spoke with our management group in reference to the leaks and the Jacuzzi the day after I received your review, and those issues have been addressed. If there are people in the loft there is not much privacy in the bedroom. We have discussed possibly putting curtains at the door. Since we're at the end of the cul-de-sac some of the cleaning crew take their lunch/coffee break there. They never approach any visitors so they won't be disturbed. I will mention this to management, but I don't know that the policy will be changed. Finally, yes, the TVs are older models, but are still in good working condition, and the Play Station was in the cabinet right below the TV downstairs when we checked. Again, I'm sorry your vacation was not what you expected.
