About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This recently renovated private home, offering wonderful mountain views, is above Vail Cascade Village in a lovely area of fine homes and looks out on Donovan Park Upper Bench, a Town of Vail designated open space. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe from the house directly into the open space. Playing in the snow or sledding can be enjoyed on hills nearby or in the spacious yard (sleds provided). An easy walk down the hill will bring you to Vail Mountain's Chair 20 or to the free shuttle to Vail Village or Lionshead Village.

The home can accommodate 4 to 6 people in its 1600+ square feet. The upstairs bedroom/sitting room, which overlooks the living area, has a California king bed, a fireplace and a large sofa that can be converted into a double bed, with a bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed, private bath and a nice-size sauna. The living room, with access to a patio, has a gas-burning fireplace and attached dining area. A powder room/laundry is between the dining area and a well equipped kitchen that has lots of windows and eat-in capability. You will be able to cook anything you desire. Parking for one car in a closed garage and a second car outside is included. The driveway is heated for snow-melt, offering convenience and safety.

The owners, Pete and Lucy, live in the home next door. Rob, the manager also lives on the property. Everyone is available to see to your needs and to ensure a happy vacation.

About The Owner

We are a retired couple, very active in the community and one of the churches that share the Vail Interfaith Chapel. Although we are originally from the east coast, we have become addicted to the Colorado mountains.

The Owner purchased this house in 1992

Why The Owner chose Vail

Lucy and I purchased our home as a vacation get away in 1992. We so loved the skiing, the other outdoor sports and the beautiful weather that we purchased the larger home next door and retired to Vail from St. Paul, Minnesota in 2002. You will love the easy access to Vail Mountain as well as the restaurants, shopping and activities that Vail offers. And, best of all, the incredible beauty and majesty of the Rocky Mountains are always around you.

What makes this house unique

This is a perfect family environment - cozy and comfortable - and close to everything you want to do.

Great family Spring Break!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of six stayed and slept very comfortably. Very easy walk to the shuttle to Lionshead. Very good amenities, and we would definitely consider re-booking next year. Perfect for families that want to ski all day and come back to a cozy home.

Awesome place in Vail

  • 5 of 5

The manager was very helpful. The walk to cascade lift is not bad at all. The place was very comfortable for 5 people. Felt like it would easily sleep 6 or more. The place is actually a lot better than it looked from the pictures. The upper floor beds looked up to skylight windows. It had a sauna room that we didn't end up using it. Maybe next time!

Perfect vacation spot.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days in this beautiful home and we can't wait to go back. The house is so comfortable and clean and the best part is that you can walk to everything. We stayed here with 4 adults, 2 kids and a dog and there was plenty of room. Vail has so much to offer and this house is the perfect place to come to after a day of skiing. Pete, Lucy and Rob are so nice that it is worth staying here just to get the chance to meet them.
