About Joanne Tiedmann

Our parents bought this house in 1955 and my sisters and I now own it. This is a real family house and we love to hear that other families enjoy it as well.

Joanne Tiedmann purchased this house in 1999

Why Joanne Tiedmann chose South Yarmouth

It is our good fortune to have been raised on the Cape. Our parents chose to move to the Cape after they were married in 1949. We have always been a part of Cape Cod.

What makes this house unique

Our house is a comfortable home for families to relax in. It is close and convenient to so many things. You can choose to travel to the National Seashore for the beach, or keep it simple by staying home and going to the beach locally. It is so close to stores and restaurants, you don't have to drive far for anything you need, yet the neighborhood is very quiet. It's a great 'girls weekend' house, available in the off season.

Quaint and Lovely home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a girls getaway and had a wonderful time! The house is quaint, roomy, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood is very nice and close to a lot of things - good food, sightseeing, the beach. Joanne was a pleasure and readily available for any questions/concerns we had. Overall, a lovely stay and I would highly recommend it!

Perfect Family Retreat or Reunion Site

  • 4 of 5

This "home away from home" cottage offers the setting for a perfect family holiday, with or without children. Sleeping arrangements were adequate, and the kitchen was well equipped with the essentials, not new, but in good condition. What particularly makes this cottage ideal for the family are the many games stashed in the living room for those rainy days, along with some fairly recent books as well as a few classics. The large screen television along with computer access took us into the 21st century completing the picture for a perfect family holiday or reunion.

My husband and I who now live in Canada used the cottage as a weekend retreat, just the two of us. We had lived in Yarmouth for years, and this quiet visit brought back memories of the time we had spent there. The cottage was located in a small fairly new community, close enough to grocery and drug stores, as well as specialty fish markets which were on our list as a must. And of course, Bass River beaches were a hop, skip and a jump away. Although our use of the property was very limited in the three days we were there, we can highly recommend it for all the reasons stated above.

Lovely house in a beautiful neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Great for walking and bike riding. This is a quiet street and yet close to everything, especially (according to my husband) the bakery. The owners were great to work with.

Perfect Location and Very Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for our annual golf trip to the Cape and couldn't have been more pleased. The location offers easy access to our favorite golf courses and is a short distance to area restaurants. Joanne was easy to deal with and everyone in our group was completely satisfied.

Excellent Price for a wonderful location in South Yarmouth

  • 4 of 5

We had a group of 5 adults stay at this home for a long weekend while attending a wedding just down the road at Red jacket Resort. The owner was incredibly easy to work with and very prompt in responding to emails making the booking very easy.

The house has a VERY large kitchen with everything you'll need to whip up a few easy meals. Master BEdroom queen bed was very comfy. We all enjoyed the outdoor shower as well. Charcoal grill had everything we needed to grill up some wings Sat night.

If you are looking for brand new granite blah blah blah this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for old timey capecod this is the spot!

We walked to the windmill beach was 5 mins up the road, small beach but very nice to sit and watch the boats cruise the Bass river. Bakery up the street was great, grab some cinnamon rolls! Plenty of good food options right up the street on Old Main st and Rt 28.

Only thing to mark it down a star would be to clean up the Backyard a bit. Table and chairs provided but there were a lot of trees w/ limbs broken hanging over the yard.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the heads up on the yard. Fall clean up weekend is coming up soon, we'll take care of it.
