About the Property
Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2.25 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)
Downtown square and the Ole Miss campus are within walking distance and we adjoin the community rail-to-trail bike path, but most people drive.
Completely overhauled in 2008 by the architect/owner in a clean, country, contemporary idiom, the house features two screened porches with 9' wide door openings connecting them to the main living space, creating a contemporary 'dogtrot.' The back yard has a 340 square foot brick patio with a Weber gas grill available.
Enjoy great Ole Miss SEC sports or tune in the 42' HDTV. Walk to the Square and shop Neilson's, the South's oldest store, and Square Books, one of the nation's best independent bookstores, then succumb to an afternoon nap in the back porch's irresistible swinging bed. Enjoy Oxford's outstanding restaurants (two owned by 2009 James Beard Award winner, John Currence) or visit the seasonal local farmer's market 1/2 mile away, then get busy in the efficient and sociable kitchen.

Bike path adjoins seventeen acre property, vigorous (read, hills) 1.1 mile stroll to the Square, easier 1.2 stroll to Ole Miss Campus, University airport nearby
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: We are an architect and antiquarian with grown children. The guest house and our house sit on seventeen acres. We can't let you bring your pets, because we have dogs of our own, and they aren't always hospitable (to other pets).
Why the Owner Chose Oxford, MS, USA:
This guest house is the only house past ours at the end of our dead end street, so we bought it and renovated it.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
It's hard to find a luxurious spot this secluded but this close to the action in our little college town. This place gives you the option to join in or stay away and watch the deer and birds all day, and keep an eye out for the occasional fox.
