This site is named Five Ridge Bluff for the five ridges visible from the porch, the farthest being the Tennessee Valley Divide, commonly referred to as the 'Blue Ridge'. Truly a slendid view.

Horseback riding, antique shopping, and fine restaurants are close by. Brochures are provided in the cabin for the many activities available in the area. Only a little over an hour from Atlanta or Chattanooga. For back to nature seclusion combined with convenient access to a wide variety of activities, come to Five Ridge Bluff!
We have lived in this beautiful part of North Georgia for 40 years, and felt a desire to share our 'piece of paradise' with others. So, in 2003, we built a single rental cabin on our 120 acres. This allows others to share the pleasure of our natural environment in a secluded forst, tucked away from the busy world, yet conveniently located to go to all those outside activites. There are no other rental cabins on our property. Your own private resort!
Mike and Sharon purchased this cabin in 2003
Beginning in 1972, we started building our home in the mountains to retreat from the frantic city life in Atlanta. We moved into our mountain home in 1977, and have never looked back!
At Five Ridge Bluff, you have the advantage of having a gorgeous mountain view plus access to the Ellijay River. A mile long nature trail goes from the cabin to the river and runs along its banks -- all on private property. Along the trail you will find spots to fish, play in the river, picnic, or sunbathe. Another unique feature is our private shooting range for practice target shooting. Since it is all on private property, you have it all to yourself!

Hi! We stayed in your cabin 9-25 - 9-26, we had a great time. But the more important thing was how CLEAN and homey the place felt. Everything was there that you needed, all you really need to bring is your clothes and walking shoes. We do appreciate the cleanliness of the cabin and the location, the river, the view, and the trails were great. We tried to treat the cabin the way you do and leave it clean. We only hope that everyone who stays there will do the same. Thanks for the use of your cabin.
We met Mike upon arrival and he showed us the cabin and went over a few things. The cabin was spotless and all that we expected. Buster the hound visited us everyday and he is the coolest dog ever. You will want to take him home with you. The river and trails are perfect for enjoying the great outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed the shooting range. We shot our guns two days in a row it was so much fun. We will be back in the near future. Also take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway train if you find time.
We were very happy with our two-week stay here at this cabin. Mike is great at showing us everything upon arrival. The home is very clean and very well cared for. The hiking trail is well maintained and beautiful. Most of my kids could all do the trail, but it was challenging for the younger kids. (the two year old would not be able to do it, obviously). The youngest kid we had on the trail was 6 years old. We enjoyed playing in the river, using the shooting range and fishing (though not successful...no fish). We also enjoyed the downtown Ellijay shops, and really loved the downtown Blue Ridge shops (that took us two days to see them all). While here for two weeks, we also went tubing, rented a boat on a near-by lake, went to the outlet mall about an hour and a half away, painted pottery at a cute shop in downtown Ellijay, and had a great time! Plenty to do in this area. Very nice trip. Highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a place to stay in Ellijay.
We were very happy with our stay at this cabin. All of our expectations were either met or exceeded. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. It was so nice to have all of the nice touches that Mike and Sharon have included with this rental. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were high quality, plenty of cooking utensils and cookware, nice grill, clean hot tub, you name it. We really enjoyed the nature trail which runs from the house down towards a nice creek, of course accompanied by the dogs, Buster and Dixie. There is a wonderful view of the mountains from the deck of the cabin. We could not have been happier with the cabin and the property.
The town of Blue Ridge was super nice with lots to do and many places to eat. We went to two State Parks which were within an hours drive and hike some great trails and saw some great scenery. We drove to some of the points of interest like Swinging Bridge and some of the hiking trails and waterfalls. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect all week. We would love to come back sometime. Thanks Mike and Sharon for sharing your wonderful cabin.
My husband and I and another couple stayed at the cabin for 5 days. We were more than pleased with the accommodations and surroundings. The cabin was so clean and you could tell it was very well cared for and maintained. Nothing was left out including the view! I loved waking up in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck enjoying the view. We loved sitting around the campfire at night. We loved the trail and the river although we didn't have much luck with fishing. We loved that Buster and Dixie accompanied us every time we went out. Buster even led us down the trail when we would drive. They are very good dogs. It was great going on vacation and having them around. We really miss them. I would highly recommend this cabin.
We could not have been more happy with our stay at Five Ridge Bluff. Took the kids on the hiking trail, where they met and played with Buster and Dixie. Kids had a great time on the trail, sitting around the campfire, playing with the dogs. Super easy indoor fireplace - LOVE the on/off switch!!!! Instructions to find property were spot on, no issue finding the cabin. View from the cabin was beautiful, pictures just do not do it justice. Cabin and property were very clean and well kept up. Communication with Mike was super easy, had no problems at all. This was a great getaway from the city, and definitely made some great family memories! Will be back again in the fall to check out all of the Apple related festivities!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Five Ridge Bluff and the BEST experience we have had yet with cabin rentals. Nothing was overlooked, it was wonderfully clean and Mike and Sharon are the perfect hosts. We took full advantage of hiking near the river in the attentive company of the pups, warmed ourselves by the fire pit, eased our tired muscles in the hot tub and honed our marksmanship on the shooting range. Absolutely loved the privacy and fabulous views!
