We had a wonderful stay at this lakefront home. The house had plenty of room and the kitchen had everything you could ask for. The property is secluded and the neighborhood is quiet. Even in early May we were able to spend some time outside and enjoy the fire pit. I can see how appealing this location would be for water activities (kayak, canoe, fishing) and we were so busy we did not have time to take out the bikes.. The location was ideal for us. We spent time in Castine Maine at the Maritime Academy, Ellsworth, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Bangor and Belfast. Overall a very nice time with family.
Linda, Thank you so much for your review. I’m glad you could pack so much into your stay. I hope you can return during the warmer months to enjoy more of the water activities and wildlife. David
We had a great time in this lovely, well stocked home.
This is the second time we have stayed here and plan on coming back again next year!
Quiet and remote. A good location, depending on what you are looking for.
If you are looking to stay at a lake home and don't mind spending a lot of time driving to any other attractions then this might be a good choice. This house is located on a dirt road and it is remote, so if you want to spend a lot of time at Acadia or other locations on Mount Desert Island there may be better choices as you will spend a lot of time driving (long drive to stores, Acadia, etc). The property is very nice and the home is comfortable. Cell service is poor here so be prepared, and don't count on using the wifi here because it is barely better than dial up (prevents making wifi calls if you can't get cell service). All the furnishings are comfortable and there is plenty of room for everyone. Note, if you or someone with you is allergic to animals, this is a pet home, with evidence of many animals staying here. All in all this house can hold a large gathering for big families (and does so comfortably) and offers a lot.....as long as what you want is what this location offers.
Fantastic vacation home!
We had a wonderful week in Maine. Peaceful and relaxing in this secluded setting. Listening to the loons and enjoying evening campfires, it was a great get away for our group. Less than 1 hour from Bar Harbor and acadia. Also within easy driving distance to other coastal towns. Highly recommended.
If I Could Buy a Lakehouse, It Would Be Just Like This One!
Lovely home, beautiful, private location. Home is stocked with just about everything you could want from a row boat and kayaks to board games and a crock pot! Toddy Pond is the "Goldilocks" of lakes. . . . not too big, not too small. . . . .it's just right. Caught some impressive bass right from the dock!
Owner was very responsive to a couple of minor glitches that happen when you own a home. Home is as nice or even nicer than the photos depict. Under an hour to beautiful Acadia National Park.
Wish we could have stayed 2 weeks instead of just 1.
Most relaxing vacation 😊❤️
Beautiful waterfront home nestled on a point surrounded by mature forest and fern-covered granite boulders. --Private setting yet convenient to many lovely ocean front communities and restaurants in Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Belfast.
Enjoy canoeing and kayaking on pristine Toddy Pond (included in rental fee), swimming from the dock, or wading in the small coves. (Sandy Beaches also in the area) Toddy Pond offers great fishing and bird watching. Enjoy relaxing around the campfire at night while being serenaded by very friendly and vocal loons.
Toddy Pond is a great launching point for day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, many with incredible vistas. On rainy days, guests enjoy shopping in the wonderful gift, pottery and antique shops in Ellsworth, Searsport and Belfast area. Or, if you prefer, spend hours purusing books, antiques and collectibles at a favorite local attraction, 'The Chicken Barn' or visiting the Craig Pond Fish Hatchery. Other local offerings include movie theaters, outstanding chamber concerts, and numerous other types of entertainment.
In general, Toddy Pond is the perfect place for those who care to adventure as well as those who truly want to 'vacate' on their vacation. We've even provided the lake side hammock!
