My family visited Las Palmas Del Mar this past January and found ourselves in a delightful world. We completely enjoyed our stay at the Villa. The property was clean and well maintained. For example, when I required any assistance it was provided without any hesitation...I absolutely would recommend this property to a friend. The gym, tennis and most definitely the food made the experience delightful. The villas location in southern portion of the island was also a bonus in traveling to areas of interest.

Great Vacation!

  • 4 of 5

Several years ago, we stayed at Palmas de Mar in another villa. At that time, we were busy exploring the sights of Puerto Rico that we did not get to enjoy everything that Palmas had. This time, we took the time to enjoy the facilities, and we were not disappointed. The villa was clean and was well represented in the description. We were very comfortable. Dr. Rodriquez was very responsive to our questions and needs. At Palmas, you can do as much or nothing at all other than lay in the pool or the beach. The beach is just a short walk and very secure. The pool is right next to the villa. There are tennis courts, biking and running trails. You just have to be careful of these trails since it has to be shared with the golf carts. I found myself running in the morning to avoid them. There is a stable within Palmas that my daughter truly enjoyed. As far as food, there are several restaurants within Palmas and we also enjoyed some of the restaurants outside. They were all delightful. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone.

Perfect place for our family!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (myself, husband, 4 1/2 year old, 22 month old and my Mom) completely enjoyed our stay at this Villa. The property is very clean/well maintained and the owner is very accommodating. Just as described, it is steps from the pool and you cross the road to get to the beach (maybe 100 steps). I would recommend this villa without hesitation. The villa is laid out nicely (2 BR: 1 master BR w/ a King and spacious closet which is where we set up the pack and play; 1 BR with twin beds which has its own bath and kitchenette). The kitchen is nicely laid out and has anything you need (plates, utensils, wine opener, pots/pans... there was even foil and saran wrap and some non perishable food items). The villa had shampoo/conditioner there and all paper towels/tp. You'll find practical items already here for use (beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc). We left some items behind too for others to enjoy (large bottle of bubbles, bottle of suntan lotion too large for us to take back, and a few kitchen items such as pasta/unopened sauce). The unit has a dishwasher (detergent provided) and a stackable laundry (but you should plan to bring your own laundry detergent).

The villa's location is PERFECT as it is safely in the Palmas del Mar community, yet convenient enough to do just about anything! We explored the island -- one day doing a roadtrip towards Ponce (but due to having little ones in the car and a road accident, we turned around before our destination). Another day we spent at Palmas Athletic Club (the owner can pre-register guest passes so you can visit M-F, $15/adult and $10/child). Another day we toured El Morro in San Juan, had lunch in Old San Juan, etc. Another day we hiked in El Yunque and visited El Fajardo. And there were several days spent in between relaxing at the beach and at the pool. The backyard is wonderful (facing the pond). Our kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the turtles, looking for the lizards and bird watching; We LOVED the convenience of this place (pool, beach, everything you need including the gas grill), being able to put the kids to bed then sit out back to simply enjoy a glass of wine and listen to the night sounds.

Excellent apartment

  • 5 of 5

I spent 10 days with my wife, 2-year-old daughter and parents at this apartment and had a great time. The apartment is spacious and very well kept and equipped (including a foldable toddler bed, dishwasher, washer, and dryer). Through the terrace door you walk onto a lawn to a lake around which all the apartments of the complex are arranged. There are iguanas, many birds, and turtles, and our daughter had a blast with them. Small children need to be watched carefully because of the water and also because the lawn goes down steeply to the lake so that they can fall and roll into the water.

The grounds are kept meticulously and Palmas Del Mar in general has an excellent architecture and management and is very safe.

My Family had a wonderful stay at this Villa in Palmas Del Mar. We had a minor problem with the deck door lock, and the owner had it fixed promptly. The Villa was clean and neat, and had all the utensils, towels etc. needed, and had fun with be Boogie boards supplied. Air Conditioning worked perfectly. The grounds are very nice, close to the beach, and steps to the very small pool(my only complaint).

Overall we all had a great time!

Perfect Spot for the Holidays!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 just returned from a fabulous week at this villa in Mare Sereno inside the Palmas del Mar resort area. Our 2 daughters (17 and 19 years old) are both still raving about our Christmas vacation. It's not always easy to please teenagers but this was one of the most relaxing and pleasant trips we have ever had together. The villa was in a great location---next to the pool and just a short walk across the street to the beach. The complex was very quiet at the beginning of the week so that it almost felt like the pool was just for us. The villa came equipped with beach chairs, plenty of beach towels, and boogie boards so that all we needed to provide was the sunscreen! We rented a golf cart for the week which made it easy to get around and gave our teens a bit of independence. There were lots of restaurants to choose from right inside Palmas del Mar--our favorites were the Beach Bohio (a short walk down the beach toward the Wyndham), the restaurant at the Beach Club, Tapas at the old marina, and Pure Vida at Palmanova Plaza. (We wanted to try the Cafe de Plaza near the Yacht Club--it got great reviews on yelp--but they were closed the night we wanted to go).

The villa itself was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked a number of meals in the kitchen, enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the beautiful patios, and enjoyed the fact that there was plenty of room to spread out without being on top of one another. The Christmas holidays were an especially festive time to be at Palmas--every condo complex was colorfully lit up at night and decorated for the season. We were really impressed with how well manicured and cared for the grounds were. The villa is also well situated for exploring the Rainforest (about 45 minutes away), Old San Juan (also about 45 minutes drive), and the bioluminescent Bay. If you are planning to visit during the Christmas break, try to make your reservations for the Bioluminescent Bay ahead of time---they get really booked up and we were unsuccessful in scheduling a tour of the bay in Fajardo. However, we ended up driving 2 hours west to La Parguera for a private boat tour of the bay there with Captain Ismael Ramos Soler (787-390-6086). While not as striking as the bioluminescent bays in Fajardo and Vieques, this tour was unrushed and allowed you to swim in the bay. This was a fantastic experience and one of the high points of our trip.
