My husband and I came from Chicago in 1972. After driving around throughout South Florida we found the beautiful Florida Keys and fell in love with the area where we bought a lot in 1975 and completed the construction of our dream home in 1988. We could not resist the beautiful view of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the breeze, the great fishing, diving, and the tranquility of the area. I am retired since July 2008. I worked as an accountant for 35 years for Miami Dade County. Both of us love fishing and go together on fishing trips, we love kids.
Oraida Alfonso purchased this house in 1988
This property is on a canal with dock age and boat slip, 75 feet from the Atlantic Ocean, it most be a great place for people that love fishing, diving, swimming and any other water related activities. We fall in love with this property because the beautiful view of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the breeze, the easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Bay, and the proximity to the only natural reef in North America, the Ale gator reef is nearby, marinas, ramps, bait and tackles, Florida Keys cuisine.
We enjoy a large kitchen equipped with all the utensils, a private bathroom connected to the master bedroom, big windows and slide doors that let us see the ocean, coconut trees and Keys vegetation. A washer and dryer in the living floor and a second utility room downstairs with a freezer and refrigerator. A barbecue grill and a cleaning fish station, a hammock, a sun deck, a 35 feet dock right on the canal in the back of the property, boat dock garanty.
This lovely house is on a wonderfully quiet street. Everything was immaculately clean when we arrived. We had such a wonderful time staying here. Our grandkids came and visited and fished right in canal in front of the house and enjoyed the manatees who came to visit. We brought our boat with us and the canal goes directly out into the ocean and the fishing was fantastic. My husband especially appreciated the area downstairs which includes a freezer and refrigerator to store bait and lets you have space to freeze your catch. Islamorada is loaded with fantastic restaurants and things to do for adults and kids, so our stay was perfect!
If you are looking for big screen TV’s, surround sound, hot tubs and swimming pool, well this isn’t the place!
However if you want one of the very few places that has direct access to the ocean and just a “stones through” for fishing, snorkeling this place is the best!
As a fisherman it has been perfect, dock right at the house, bait freezer and refrigerator and rod storage 20 ft from the boat. Great cleaning table and fresh water wash down all at your disposal.
It’s perfect for reef and ocean fishing and very close to many channels that will put you into the Back Country as well.
The house is well described in the overview and is most importantly CLEAN!
The owners are as accommodating as possible and very nice, a pleasure to deal with.
We have come to the Keys many times to fish and have stayed at several other rentals and can honestly say that for the location and price I just don’t think you can find a better place.
We hope to be able to use this house as our home base for many years to come.
Well maintained with beautiful view. Ideal location, Owner very cooperative and wants everyone to have a great stay as we always do. We will definitely stay there again. I would recommend this place to anyone;
Wonderful house just steps from the ocean. We caught fish right in front of the house--my granddaughter (2 years old) loved it. The house was comfortable with plenty of room for 4 adults, a 2 year old and a 5 month old. There is a deep freeze for your bait, etc.--nice to not have to put it in the refrigerator. House has a great hammock which we all enjoyed. This is a place I would return to again!
Our family spend Thanksgiving in the keys and this house was just great for us. Very nice, peaceful and very well maintained. The view to the water is so amazing. We brought our paddle boards and explored the little canal and the ocean. What a great place to be. Very relaxing and just beautiful. The owner was very nice and helpful. We can only recommend this wonderful getaway house and hope to come back here another time:))
We rented the property twice in 2011 during our April & May trips,the owner is very helpful, its an ideal size and has everything you need, its set in a beautiful location and an ideal location to explore the keys.
We have just booked again for our 2012 trips and are looking forward to staying there again.
