Our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo received a complete renovation so we can offer all the amenities the discriminating traveler desires. From the stainless steel kitchen complete with all small appliances, glassware and cookware to the Select Comfort Sleep Number adjustable mattresses on the king and twin beds, from the custom bath and shower areas with hair dryer to the flat screen TVs with DVD players in the bedrooms and living room, and full-size front loading washer and dryer in the unit (with free laundry detergent!)- we strive to fulfill your needs. We provide a small library of books and games if you want to spend an evening inside just relaxing. Plus FREE Wi-Fi!

Our lanai overlooks the upper pool,BBQ area and offers exquisite ocean views. Whale sightings are plentiful from December to April. It's an easy stroll (300 paces) to the ocean and we offer beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, a Frisbee or two, and kids share the numerous buckets, shovels and beach toys for sand castle building.

Although our unit is not air conditioned the upper floor location and trade winds usually cool the condo nicely. When trade winds die and summer heats up it can be a little warm but we have ceiling fans & floor fans for your comfort. A/C hopefully in 2018!

Excellent restaurants and shopping are within an easy walk. Golf and additional ocean activities can be found within a few minutes drive. Bus/trolley service is available to other island attractions such as the aquarium, Lahaina (once the whaling town), Wailea or Kaanapali resort areas and a bus/trolley schedule is provided in the condo.

Effective Feb 1st you need to have a reservation to drive up Haleakala for sunrise. It's just $1.50/car in addition to the park admission but they are only allowing 150 vehicles (that's the number of parking spaces in the park) while they had been getting as many as 300/sunrise.

We, Sue and Bill, have been condo owners in Kihei Maui since 1991. We have traveled to all of the Hawaiian islands since 1983 and truly believe Maui No Kai Oi - Maui is the Best. Our sons were raised with many trips to Hawaii learning to appreciate the Hawaiian sea life, culture and natural beauty. Why Susan Everett chose Kihei

Of all the places we looked at to purchase, Kihei Akahi offered a superb sunny location within walking distance to great restaurants, beaches and shopping. We discovered that many times when it rains in Lahaina and Kaanapali, Kihei is usually sunny and warm. Located across from Kaamaole Beach II (voted the best beach on Maui several times) and offering 2 pools with BBQ facilities and tennis courts on site added to Kihei Aklahi's qualities. Boat trips, whether for scuba diving, snorkeling or rentals can be found within walking distance at Kihei Boat ramp.

What makes this condo unique

The outstanding view from our lanai is next to Heaven itself. We have over 180 degree view from the west Maui mountains to Molikini Crater. From December to April whales frolic in the waters off Kaamaole Beach as if there to be your private performers. And if sunsets aren't breathtaking enough, looking out the front door up Haleakala Volcano at sunrise surely will do the job.

Want a great Vacation? Try this Location - this Condo!

Another year another great vacation in Sunny Kihei. What more could one want than a fully stocked condo, with a great view, in a great location! We have been lucky to have enjoyed 22 years of great great vacations in Sunny Kihei making new friends from all corners, being able to see and visit with them for many years. Our stays, over the past 16 years in D615 have been exceptional and eventful! We survived two tsunamis being able to take in other residents for safety. We have two exceptional owners who do everything in their power to make our stay great.

For 16 years we have been blessed to have M & A rent from us for two whole monthseach year.They care for the condo just as if were their own, making minor repairs, replacing broke items and never with complaint. Our Stay in Kihei

Our stay at your condo, D615 in Kihei, was great. The unit is furnished with everything one would need. The location and view are terrific! Your advance instructions were complete and gave us all we needed to enjoy our stay. The only thing we would add is air conditioning, as you have stated you hope to install in 2018. We are hesitant to suggest one restaurant over another because all restaurants close to the condo have been consistently great over the years and don't want guests to miss out on any of them. Sunset Views and easy walk to the beach

Great views from the balcony! The condo is located in the heart of Kihei with easy walking to the beach and a few restaurants. Inside the condo, the floors are tiled with carpet in the bedrooms. The condo felt spacious with my family of 4. Although I didn't cook much, the kitchen had everything you need. Condo area is quiet and grounds are well maintained. The main drawback was how warm the condo is in July despite having fans in each room and being on the top floor. I'm sure the fans and tradewinds would have been sufficient if it was any other month. Sue is a responsive owner and followed up with me quickly despite the time difference.

Owner's Response: We are glad you were pleased with the condo and found Kihei Akahi to your liking. The staff works diligently to keep the grounds, pools and BBQ areas in pristine condition for guests' enjoyment. Summers in Hawaii have been getting warmer and we are in the process of getting permission to install a 3-split A/C system so all rooms will have A/C, not just the living room as many other units do. Although I have been reluctant to do this installation because of the increase burden on the fragile electric grid, Maui Electric has made great environmentally favorable strides to serve the island's customers. We are looking forward to pleasing our future customers with A/C when the summer months heat up and hope they will be responsible with A/C usage.

Nice accomodations

This is a very nice unit with plenty of the things you need to feel at home. However, this unit does not have A/C and warmed up during the day and early evening to the point of being uncomfortable. Nice unit to stay in during cooler months but I would not stay again in the summer months.

Owner's Response: We try to meet each traveler's need but we haven't yet learned how to control the very much needed trade winds that help to cool our condo. The trades seem to slack off in the summer and the condo does become warm, especially if the sunshade on the lanai is not lowered in the afternoon. New Windows coming soon, after that, I have 'given in ' to A/C. I only hope guests will use the A/C responsibly and not add to the strain on the island's electric grid. Next summer should be 'cooler'!
