Gorgeous place!

  • 4 of 5

The place is gorgeous! So relaxing, day or night. I would of given it 5 stars but it does need some deep cleaning and new mattresses. The house is huge which helped us since we were a big family. The owners are very friendly which i got to meet personally and also live next door. I would definitely stay again!

Ummm...not a do over. Beautiful Location. Filthy House.

  • 1 of 5

beautiful location but the place itself was FILTHY... I spent 3 days Cleaning so my family was safe. You literally are instructed to clean up everything yourself before you leave, and I do mean EveryThing...and it was REALLY obvious no one had washed the sheets/bathrooms/dishes/floors, etc cripes, in Forever! Seriously, I doubt the carpets have been vacuumed in 18 years. YUCK!

Owner's Response: Guest, Katie Brown, was very positive about at our home. She sent me a very nice VRBO note right after her stay on December 14th, 2016 that said: "THANK YOU FOR A MOST PEACEFUL AND RELAXING WEEKEND" Her comments were only positive. Now six months after she stayed at our home, she posts a vicious, negative review. My wife and I are absolutely dumbfounded. Did she recently stay at another VRBO rental and accidently post a negative review to our home? The contradiction of comments and the timeline, doesn't make sense, being so positive six months ago and this posting Of the 25 reviews from our guests, 16 have been 5/5 and another 4 are 4/5 making 20 of 25 very positive ratings. The reason for the couple poor ratings was because we were out of town and not able to check between guests. We now have a professional cleaning lady to clean the house between guests and make sure that everything is 110% ready for you. If you want a home to getaway in a beautiful, secluded setting this is it. If you want a "citified" 5 star hotel, our home is not what you are looking for. You will love your stay at our home as 20 of 25 guests have. Please call us at 503.784.5772 if you have any questions. Thank you very much for your consideration. WELCOME!

The scenery and land is so beautiful!

  • 3 of 5

The cars on the property take away from the forest experience, and I think some comfort and aesthetic upgrades as far as bedding would add to the overall look of the awesome house, but overall it was well worth the trip and the experience. I thank the Marlings for allowing us to visit their forest home!!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location of this house we wanted to stay close to the coast for the 4th but not pay an arm and a leg! We've used homeaway before and will again this place was secluded, spacious and well kept. Water is from a well so it's slightly discolored and gets air in the line but not a big issue. The house looked clean it smelled a little musty but we opened the windows and it aired out quickly. The beds were comfy the bathrooms clean we didn't find it to be a big deal to wash linens as we do this at our own cabin. We loved being able to spread out and not be on top of each other and my kids and nieces had a great time exploring out back! (Ages 12-5) all in all we would highly recommend and we would be willing to stay again if we are in the area! Thanks for letting us into your home and make memories we won't soon forget!

Quiet, secluded and very roomy.

  • 5 of 5

This is a convenient place to stay when in the Portland area if you want to be out of the hubbub of the city. Convenient to areas of siteseeing, shopping and good places to eat. The cabin is roomy and has 4 bedrooms for room to spread out. Don't want to eat out, there is a kitchen for cooking and a grill for grilling. The stream in the back makes a nice back drop noise for sleeping when the windows are open. Deck off of the kitchen and living rooms make wonderful places to sip coffee or sit in a quiet place for reading or just enjoying nature.

Coming back again.

  • 5 of 5

It has been five years since we rented this cabin but this year we will be returning in April. We are very excited. We fell in love with the cabin, the grounds and the location the first time we were there. We feel as if we are coming home to a second home. For those of you looking for a great place to stay this should definitely be on your list. The cabin is large and roomy. Unlike a hotel, you can stretch out, get comfortable and use all of the amenities to suite your needs. We loved having the choice to eat out or cook in. We combined two families (4 adults) last time and this year we are adding one more adult with us, comfortably. I am so looking forward to coffee in the quiet morning on the deck. On a scale of 1 - 5 this cabin is on the upper end of 5 for us. Great thanks to the owners that share this opportunity with others.
