About Summerwind Development

We own vacation rental property in Idaho and Utah. We enjoy helping clients plan their trips and explore the Island Park area.

Summerwind Development purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Summerwind Development chose Island Park

Island Park is the best of the Yellowstone area without all the tourists. All of my cabins have large lots surrounded by trees for a private and peaceful vacation. There is great hiking and fishing in the summer and incredible snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter. There is also a golf course if you want to hit a few balls in the summer. Harriman State Park is close by with the best hiking and cross country ski trails in Eastern Idaho.

What makes this cabin unique

We like to paddle in the canoe in the Island Park resevoir. We also take our speed boat out and go fishing and waterskiing. This cabin is full log construction and really has the cozy cabin in the mountains feel to it. After playing on the water it's nice to throw a steak on the grill (or a fish if we were lucky that day), and then relax in the hot tub. In the winter, sometimes it's just nice to watch the snow fall while you read a book by the gas fireplace, or go sledding or cross country skiing.

Enjoyed my stay at this Island Park Cabin with Hot Tub

Ahh, rest and relaxation! I had the opportunity to stay in the Summerwind Cabin, located in Island Park, ID. Island Park is a great destination near Yellowstone National Park for everything from hiking and fishing, to snowmobiling and cross country skiing. Summerwind Cabin had everything a bear needs for a great vacation. It is a quiet location among a forest of pine trees, within walking distance to the Island Park Reservoir. The cabin is very spacious and includes a full kitchen, comfortable living room, laundry room, 2 bathrooms, and enough beds for the whole family. The deck is a huge plus with dining table and hot tub for hours of outdoor enjoyment. The cabin even comes with a canoe to take out on the water. For those who want to stay indoors, the TV offers dozens of channels. If you’re feeling adventurous, head out on the nearby ATV trails, go for a hike to Mesa Falls, or spend a day boating and fishing at Henry’s Lake State Park just a few miles away. My favorite part of the trip was the close proximity to West Yellowstone and the national park, so I could easily go visit my wildlife kin. Island Park is the perfect home base for exploring the park because you can return to peace and quiet after a day at the popular tourist spots like Old Faithful. Thank you Summerwind Cabin for an enjoyable and relaxing stay! The VRBO Bear

Lose Track of Time at This Cozy Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

Came up to fly-fish in the local rivers and in Yellowstone Park. This home is great because it's central to so many amazing places to fish that we had a hard time deciding where to go each day. The home was so cozy and had all the things we needed to be comfortable and to make some dinners in at night. It snowed lightly a couple of the nights we stayed and this made the Jacuzzi indispensable as it was kept to nice and hot and clean, It's the best way to warm up on a cold night!

Plenty of room for a big group, but it was just the two of us. Hope we'll be able to visit again some day soon!

Great cabin. Secluded and beautiful place. Perfect for Yellowstone trips and the surrounding area

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I brought our 4 young children up, and we fit comfortably and enjoyed our time here immensely. We spent a couple of days in Yellowstone (west entrance is 35 minutes away) and a day in the nearby state park and national forest (20 minutes away). We visited in October, so it was great to spend the days out hiking and finish the night with a soak in the hot tub and watch the stars. I would rate this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. There was only a minor thing or two (one of the beds was very speaky/loud, the hot tub heater is quite loud, and there's minimal parking at the cabin), but overall it was great. It was even mentioned that the internet is too slow to stream Netflix, but we were able to watch shows on Netflix without a problem.

Cozy cabin near Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 stayed in the Cowan cabin and really enjoyed it. There was plenty of room for everyone, check in/out was painless and it was less than 30 minutes to West Yellowstone Park entrance. The hot tub was a plus as well!

Perfect relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin for my husband and I to go on a surprise 30th birthday trip to Yellowstone. This cabin exceeded my expectations and really made the trip so enjoyable. We were able to see all of Yellowstone park and the Tetons in a week from this strategic location. Cell service is spotty in and around the park so we greatly appreciated the wifi at the cabin. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin!

Good location in the trees and a nice hot tub on the porch. Fairly close to fishing and the lake.

One big complaint with an old, noisy sqeeky bed upstairs. The cabin description says there are two life vests for the canoe, but there is only one. We loved the moose browsing through the woods.

Owner's Response: I am happy to read they liked the location, wildlife viewing and hot tub. My manager found the life vest in the hall closet instead of with the oars where the life jackets belong. Sorry about that as sometimes the prior renters do not put things back where they belong.
