About the Property
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
Relax or barbecue on the deck while overlooking Meeks Bay on Lake Tahoe with spectacular lake and mountain views. From the house, it is just a 5 minute walk to Meeks Bay beach, Marina & campground. It is one of the best lakeside beaches on the lake where you can swim, water ski, kayak, canoe and fish. Hiking trailheads are here as well.
This is a comfortable 3BR/2BA home with many windows from the living room/dining/kitchen area, affording beautiful lake views. The fully stocked kitchen will have all that you need for preparing your family/group meals. The living room has 2 sofas and a chair for ample seating as you enjoy the view and time together. The large deck with barbecue is a relaxing hang-out. The washer/dryer is an added bonus.
The central west shore is a peaceful alternative to the congestion of Tahoe City (11 miles north) and South Lake Tahoe (15 miles south). Even during busy seasons, it will be peaceful here. At the same time, it is only a short drive to these other destinations.
For winter travelers, Homewood Ski Resort is just 4 miles north on 89, with picturesque lakeside vistas; it is a family friendly resort that is easy on the wallet. Also within a short distance are the ski resorts of Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Heavenly at Stateline (during high snow, highway 89 to the south may be closed around Emerald Bay). Snow slopes near the home make for some fun tobogganing or just curl up in front of the wood stove enjoying the view.
- Meeks Bay - (5 minute walk), sandy beach, hiking
- Emerald Bay (6 miles south), view, hiking
- Sugar Pine State Park (2 miles north), historic sites, hiking, lake access
- Tahoma (3 miles north) - small grocery store, restaurants
- Tahoe City (12 miles north) - groceries, restaurants, shops
- South Lake Tahoe (16 miles south), groceries, restaurants and shopping
- Stateline (20 miles south), casinos, restaurants, shopping
Just a word of warning....to be rewarded with the great view, it requires ascending about 20 steps to get to the front door.
