About Chris

My wife and I moved to Colorado in 1993. We moved away briefly but realized our hearts belonged in the Rocky Mountains and we moved back in 1999. We always wanted to have a place in the mountains for our kids to enjoy. We hope that all the hiking, skiing, fishing, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and horse back riding gives them a greater appreciation for life in Colorado. I had been to Copper in the early 90's and realized it was a special place. There are plenty of places in Colorado that care more about what you're wearing rather than offering a beautiful Colorado experience. Copper is still considered by many as the 'locals place.' Its very unassuming and that's what we like about it. When Intrawest came to Copper and gave it a new $500 million village I knew we had to find a home. My in-laws became part owners when they moved from the East coast to be near the grandkids. Now my father-in-law is hiking 14'ers all summer long. The memories that Copper has provided for him and his wife are as priceless as they are for us.

Chris purchased this condo in 2002

Why Chris chose Northwest

We always wanted to have a special place in the Colorado mountains for our kids to enjoy. We knew we found that place at Copper Mountain. Its Family-oriented activities along with its highly regarded ski school were just a few of the reasons we picked Copper. The ski school is away from the busy mountains so you don't have to worry about 'cross traffic' from other slopes interfering with kids learning to ski. We enjoy the idea of a pedestrian only village with no vehicles. If your idea of vacation is being in the 'limelight' then you should probably look elsewhere. Copper enjoys a good down-to-earth environment highlighting sport and fun. There are large, more ritzy ski mountains but that's exactly what we tried to avoid. Avoid the crowds and enjoy Copper.

What makes this condo unique

We love the fact that we walk from our door directly into the Center Village. Once we park our car we never have to drive anywhere the entire time we are at Copper. The kids love snowshoeing . They also love the tubing on 5 different slides depending on how fast you want to go! They pretend to climb a snow mountain near the frozen lake where the snow piles deep on the sides. They also enjoy the ice skating and then sitting next to the fire pit to warm up afterwards. The center village offers a light show some night that projects onto the mountain. We come back to the condo to enjoy the three different hot tubs of differing temperatures. The largest is really a small pool that the kids enjoy swimming in!

Perfect Condo

  • 5 of 5

I chose this condo because it had two beds in the second bedroom (instead of a queen) which worked out perfect for our boys. The pull out couch was super comfy. The condo was clean, had every thing we needed and was exactly as advertised. It's a short walk to the lifts but not bad at all and having the locker downstairs was nice. The owners were easy to contact, quick to respond, and great to work with. I definitely recommend.

Excellent experience at Passage Point (2-bedroom condo)

  • 5 of 5

Simple, but everything we needed in the condo (kitchen was adequately equipped; furnishings were fine; garage was a nice convenience; hot tub/pool were much appreciated). Easy access to lifts, nice village area, convenient to get to Frisco for grocery shopping and eating out. Very happy with the atmosphere at Copper (modern amenities but old-fashioned feel; lots of variety in the terrain).

Heaven is the only place better!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived in Copper we knew we had made the BEST decision to book here. This condo unit at Passage Point was exactly how we imagined it...Cozy, CLEAN and very comfortable. First the cleaning crew did a fantastic job cleaning it then to our surprise Vanessa, a supervisor from Wildernest the Property management company stopped by to inspect our unit and make sure it was cleaned properly and that we had everything we needed for our week long stay. WOW-She even left us her card with her number in case we needed anything. This was above and beyond service! The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare dinners, the bedrooms and bathrooms were well stocked and there were even humidifiers in each room which was very needed as the air is so dry. Advise Drink LOTS of water!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Hot Tubs each evening. After a long day on the slopes nothing feels better to sore muscles than a Solo cup of wine (no glass allowed) and a long soak in a hot tub. The people we met at the hot tub each evening were so nice!

We loved being so close to the lifts. Even though Passage Point is one of the furthest condo units from the American Eagle was still only a 3 min walk and a breathtaking walk at that! The village is so Top Notch and walking through the covered bridge each way was a treat! This was our families first time skiing Copper Mountain and we have to say next to Vail it is our new favorite. We love the trails and how easy to navigate the mountain is. The Ambassadors that they have working as volunteers on the mountain are so nice and helpful. We originally had only planned on skiing Copper 2 of the 6 days of our trip and ended up skiing 4 days at Copper because we loved it so much...NO LIFT LINES-can't beat that even on a Presidents Holiday weekend. The day we spent in Breckenridge we only got 1/2 the runs in because of the lines..Advise Stay in Copper and only Ski Copper, that is what we will do next trip.

Chris and Heiko were the best folks to rent from. The communication from the moment we rented to the time we arrived at Copper was the best. Heiko even called the first evening we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Then he followed up the day we left to see how our trip was. We will most definitely rent from these folks again when we come back to Copper Mountain...which will hopefully be soon as we miss it so much already.

Excellent condo

  • 5 of 5

Great location in the Center Village. Easy walk to the American Flyer and American Eagle. Nice to be able to ski in the morning, take a lunch break and short rest at noon, and then return to the slopes for the afternoon. Condo is clean and spacious. It is located near one set of stairs making it convenient when coming and going. Owner is easily contacted and any concerns are taken care of in a timely manner. Highly recommend this condo and it would be high on my list to rent again.
