About louis connors
We purchased our property to build a vacation home and for investment. We are 25 minutes to Cancun International Airport, so we can easily get to anyplace in the world. From most of the northern major cities of the USA and CANADA, we can be here sitting on the front porch having a martini, before someone else can get thru the airport at their destination in Florida. Flight time from New York to Cancun is one hour longer than getting to Miami. The entire Mayan Riviera coast is still growing, so it's a great place to live, and play. We LOVE to shop, and this is a shoppers paradise.

Why louis connors chose Puerto Morelos
We really enjoy the tranquility of the Puerto Morelos area and the location is so central to everything going on in the Riviera Maya. Always a sea breeze blowing thru the windows all year round, and you can hear the sound of the surf, or just sit on the porch and watch the pelicans and seagulls fly overhead and swoop in for fish. We have a nice social life, as there are many other english speakers around, from many places, as well as our latin and european friends. We dine with friends frequently, and there is always a new or unique place to try some different cuisine, whether it's at a friends home or party, or in a restaurant specializing in food from another country, which there are plenty of all over the area. There is always some new activity, or festival somewhere. We love to beachwalk, and we meet many people from all over the world who come here for vacation and we get into some very interesting conversations. We love to sit on the oceanfront balcony and see the sun rise, or swim in the ocean, or in our own private pool, or quietly read in a gently swinging hammock, and listen to music, while mellowing out with the sounds of the sea. We also go to the sidewalk cafes alot for a drink and a chat, and there are loads of them too, in every city and town. There is plenty to see and plenty to do. There is something for everyone here. And then there are the markets. Another bonanza!
What makes this Villa unique
Our location is perfect. Everybody wants to shop, or see the sights. More and more repeat guests that have stayed in places like Akumal, Tankah, or Tulum on previous vacations decide to stay with us when they return. 25 minutes from the airport, instead of a 1 -2 hour drive from the airport each way is important. You have to check in at the airport 3 hours ahead of time for international flights these days which means the trip arriving or leaving can take up most of your day. Also, being in the middle of the tourist corridor allows easy access to all the destinations and attractions on offer. More time enjoying things, and less time getting there and getting back.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Clean home with a great view
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights with our three children (ages 10, 6 and 6). The house is clean and spacious. Louis and Anna were great hosts - very communicative and welcoming. They greeted us with margaritas and fruit for the family. They also came a few days into our stay to change our bath towels. The house has a casual, beach cottage feel - perfect for an easy going family get away. The a/c is only in the bedrooms, and they worked well. Would have loved a washing machine and dishwasher, but it really had everything else we needed. Louis and Anna left things like bars of soap in the bathrooms, dish soap, coffee filters, lighter fluid, salt/pepper, etc which was very helpful.
Location is good - in a row of beach homes between two resorts. Takes about 10 minutes to get to the stores off of 307 and just a few more to get to downtown Puerto Morelos for the restaurants, etc. You feel secure but we appreciated having a car here. We were able to travel easily from this location to Tulum, Isla de Mujeres, and to a few cenotes from here.
Pool is great - our children spent hours in it every day! The sandy area is beautiful - shaded by palm trees so it's very pleasant to sit in and have a cup of coffee - just don't set your chair under the coconuts!
The beach is not usable at all at this time. The stairs down from the seawall end into a huge pile of seaweed and the sand has washed away. The sargassum is a problem in the entire area (the only beach we saw without it was on Isla de Mujeres), and that's obviously not the fault of the owners. However, the nice thing about this house set-up is that the seawall blocks the view of all the seaweed and you can just enjoy the view of the open ocean from the house. The smell didn't bother us. I'd definitely still recommend this house, but I am hopeful for these owners and the whole region that the sargassum goes away soon!
It actually looks like the pictures! Bring your hammock; the yard is perfect. We didn't think we'd use the pool at all and ended up using it everyday. We swam out from our beach once, just because that's cool to do. We were rarely aware of any people nearby. Lovely to have a caretaker on site--we were never aware of him either except when we sought him out. Full moon from the rooftop was incredible. Bedrooms completely comfortable. Everything we needed in kitchen. Ate in town once a day when we were out on excursions.
Lovely House on the Beach
We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved having the pool close by, seeing the sunning lizards and hearing the waves. Louis and Anna communicated really well in advance and were very helpful when our daughters got sick. Only small downside was all the seaweed in the ocean which kept us from going in the ocean or using the beach.
Another lovely family who were great guests, and easy to host. A word about seaweed. It is a necessary part of the echo system that randomly comes ashore, and replenishes beaches the world over, and helps hold the sand. These guests were here for only 7 nights, and it just so happened that more than an average amount of seaweed floated in from the open ocean during their stay. For two years we had none. A week later the seaweed not covered by sand has floated away to another beach. If it is something you don't wish to deal with, there is always another beach very close by where there is none. It is not harmful. You can walk thru it, and on it, and swim thru it to get to clear water. It tickles. It won't hurt you. Nobody knows when it's going to float in, or how much, or when the waves will take it back out into the ocean current. It's common to see seaweed on the beach one morning, and the next morning it's completely gone, or it could keep floating in for several days. You never know which beach it will hit, when, or how much. Most weeks, in any given year, there is no seaweed. If it floats in when you are here, just do what the locals do, which is, walk, or swim thru it, or head to a nearby beach that has none.
Peaceful location - Great home!
We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were wonderful and had margaritas waiting for us! Aldo the caretaker was available for anything! Clean home, lots of space and very private. This is just for heads up, if you want to lay out on the beach it’s not a reality. The seaweed is bad everywhere this year, and the beach part was covered in seaweed. We did get 3 days of no seaweed during our stay. In Puerto Moreles there is Billy’s Cancun that is in the beach with great food and beach chairs or the UNICO beach club if you want to lounge and have a beach day. Town was always great for shopping or food or just to have cocktails! Thanks so much for a wonderful and very relaxing stay!
It was a pleasure hosting these guests, and we hope they return someday. They took advantage of several activities, and venues in the area, and had a fun vacation. We are sorry about the seaweed, but seaweed is a reality, on any beach, anywhere, at any given time. It happens. It is the material that holds the sand and replenishes the beach. It's misleading to say it's heavy this year as the cycle is NORMAL. Some of it just happened to float in while these folks were here. Most days throughout the year, there is little or no seaweed. Nature takes it's course. We are in a very ecologically conscious area, and therefore we are not permitted to remove it, as seaweed avoids future beach erosion. Larger public beach areas with heavy equipment, bury it under the sand, but all year it floats in, and it floats back out. It's not harmful, and many guests just clear a spot, and put their towels down. Some days it's here, and other days it's there, as the currents take it, and deposit it on all beaches. If you don't like dealing with it, we have a sandy beach area inside the seawall, so there is always sand to play in when there is seaweed outside the seawall. Plus, there is always a large public beach nearby to go to until the seaweed floats out again.
great house smack dab on the beach
just returned from 10 nights @ this beautiful house. we've rented lots of vacation homes & this one is one of the best. it's about a 10 min ride to town so you do need a rental car. we loved the privacy of this house. had a dance party out on the patio one night & didn't have to worry about bothering the neighbors. it's close to everything you want to do on the yucatan peninsula. we went to tulum one day & playa del carmen on the way back. easy drive w/nice highways. we also went to the crococun zoo which is just up the road, great experience. drove to cancun one day & took the ferry to isle mujeres. what a great trip that was. totallly recommend. aldo was a great care taker. even brought us snacks a couple of days when we were lounging in the pool. he also was right @ our car when we got home to carry anything in we may have bought. nice touch. it was great to know that he was there to watch the house when we weren't there, but he was never intrusive. all in all, a great experience. if we go back to that area, we will stay here again.almost forgot, luis & ana were great hosts. met us the night we got in w/margaritas & a huge fruit basket. drove us in to town so we knew the back way & showed us where to find the big grocery store. nice people
Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy Puerto Morelos!!!!!!
We couldn't be happier with our choice of this house. Louis was very helpful in corresponding to my questions before we arrived. Then on arrival Louis and his lovely wife Ann were there to greet us and show us around the property. And not to forget the margaritas that Ann had ready for us. Then they went with us on the short drive to town to show us where the shopping and restaurants were. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Aldo the caretaker was there if we needed him but not under foot. Loved sitting on the ocean wall and watching ships go by in the dark of night as well as the roof top deck for star gazing. Our last night we were surprised by a fireworks show from one of the resorts north of the house. A fun way to end our stay. Plenty to do if you feel like it, Mayan ruins, cenotes, fishing and snorkeling trips. Or if you prefer to be lazy there is that pool and ocean. What more can I say? We hope to return.
25 minutes from Cancun airport, Cancun city, and Playa del Carmen. Easy to get to all major attractions, yet located on a quiet beach inside a small cove, with calm waters all year round. Perfect for snorkeling , swimming, skyboard and sunning.
