Perfection

  • 5 of 5

First of all, Amelia Island was beautiful. So untouched. Even though it was arguably one of the busiest beach holidays it was laid back and casual. Very stress free. A large part of that was staying on the Plantation property in Mickey's villa. Mickey's suggestions were spot on, we rented a golf cart and enjoyed so much of the grounds. The sunsets on the landing were stunning. Enjoyed ice cream at the cafe. The activities for kids were great- Mickey's unit is literally across the street from one of the pools! The Nature Center had native animals and free food for the kids to feed to the turtles. Kids played each day at the awesome playground. Nice shaded minature golf . . . I could go on, just so family friendly! We barely ate out as we used Mickey's BBQ which was so much fun. We did venture out to Fort Clinch and downtown- Nana Teresa's was an amazing spot for a treat- yum! We had never done VBRO before and were nervous. This property is clean, quiet, nice cold AC, beautifully decorated, with literally everything you could possibly need-truly a home away from home. We like the beach but given the age of our kids we aren't beach warriors so it was great for the beach to be assessable whenever we wanted (took the golf cart), without needing to be "beachfront". Our family of 4 (2 year old and 5 year old) had an amazing 4th of July holiday! Mickey, thank you so much; we hope to come back again! Side note: we were traveling North from the Tampa Region and took the ferry over St. John's river (I believe) and the kids just thought it was so neat even though it was a 5 minute "voyage"- we saw dolphins, just something cute to do with the kids on the way in for $6!

Great Place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this place!! The rooms are gorgeous and roomy! The place is updated and just perfect! The location is great! My husband had a conference at the Omni and since this is in the same property a shuttle would pick him up in the mornings! Such great location...golf pools, shops, and more! We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Excellent Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this villa for a week in June while my husband attended a conference at the Omni. It was a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to return. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy Amelia Island Plantation. The villa was impeccably clean and comfortable, not to mention beautifully furnished with a fabulous kitchen. The access to the two pools was so easy, and getting to the beach and beach-side pool takes just a few minutes. We spent a whole day fishing on the marsh side and intend to do biking tours the next time we return - the plantation is so beautiful.

A Great Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The condo is very clean and well maintained. It is beautifully decorated with quality appliances, furniture, beds and bedding. There are 4+ pools very close and crystal clean. Mickey, the owner, has thought of many useful items to make your vacation great. There are wonderful views of the marsh and all the while staying on the plantation. The location is peaceful and is just a few miles away to shopping and lots of good food!

Our family of 5 was very comfortable with lots of room. The condo is much bigger than the pictures show. I would never stay anywhere else but here if and when we visit Amelia Island again. This place will absolutely take your breath away with its beauty! The only problem we had was that we didn't want to leave.

The Plantation has some many wonderful amenities, including:

-Great playgrounds for kids

-4+ pools to go swimming in

-Easy access to the ocean

-Many wonderful places to go for walks

Quiet condo, nicely appointed.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days in the condo during October 2010. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the condo turned out to be. Sometimes pictures make things look better than they really are, but in our case, the pictures did not do it justice. The living/dining room is large and roomy. The couch, love seat and overstuffed chaise were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen has been recently updated with solid surface countertop and new undermount double sink.

Through a sliding door in the living room, there is a screened in patio furnished with a table and four chairs. For those wanting to sit and enjoy the ambiance, there is a comfortalble wicker rocker on the patio as well. To keep you cool, the patio has a ceiling fan to keep those Florida breezes flowing over you as you snooze, play cards, do the crossword puzzle or send emails home using the free wi-fi.

The bedrooms were large with ample closet space. The beds were comfortable and the linens were very high quality. The bathrooms were also nicely appointed with solid surface countertops and tile in the showers. They were clean and there was an ample supply of towels.

When we started looking for a rental in the Amelia Island area, we sent out several inquiries regarding rentals in the area. Mickey was quick to reply and was very accommodating. She worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed to make out stay enjoyable. If we decide to return to Amelia Island in the future, we would certainly make arrangements to stay in Mickey's condo again.

During our stay, we used Mickey's advice and had breakfast at T-Rays in Ferndandina Beach. Great food, funky atmosphere (eating in an old Exxon gas station). We also had lunch at the Marina Restaurant on Centre St near the wharf. Also great food. We also took the sunset cruise on Amelia Sound. We learned about Cumberlain Island and how the Carnegie family used it as a winter getaway. Good fun.

If you are looking for a quiet get away I would certainly recommend this unit. It is close to golf, the beach, shopping and sightseeing. Having said that, it is located in a nicely wooded enclave where you feel as if you are in a secluded grove in the woods. Great place. Great host. Great time!
