8 Reasons to Stay at the Crescent Lake Cabin:
1. The fishing is great!
2. It’s quiet (except the birds can be noisy).
3. The house has been remodeled and updated!
4. Close to amenities-shopping, etc. in Gig Harbor.
5. Large wraparound deck.
6. Wooded grounds.
7. It’s a great place to bird watch-eagles, osprey, ducks, finches, hawks, racoons, etc.
8. A county park is located on the lake where you can launch your boat.
Get away from it all in this newly remodeled lakefront home. This is a rustic paradise secluded from the street by towering trees and a long, tree lined driveway. Enjoy lazy afternoons on the large cedar deck which wraps around two sides of the house. Gentle breezes through the tree tops will be your lullaby. The home gets the late afternoon sun to keep you warm until night. The fisher people say that this is the best side of the lake for fishing, too!
Relax on the deck with a drink and your loved one while watching the sun set behind the cedar, fir and pine trees across the lake. Listen to the fish jump as you watch the eagles and osprey dive for their dinner.
Many windows bring the beauty of the outside in and allows for a 180 degree view of the lake. Very quiet and peaceful and a great place to fish, as the County stocks the 53 acre lake every year. The kitchen has been updated, with beautiful slate flooring topped off with granite countertops and Travertine backsplash. Stainless steel appliances include a downdraft Jenn Air range, frige and microwave. The kitchen, featuring a large eating island, opens into a large living area with slate and laminate floors to make for easy upkeep. Wide windows bathe the rooms in light. French doors open from the living room onto a huge cedar deck that wraps around the home, extending the living area. The bedroom has also been updated and remodeled and features a closet with multi paned French Doors and Light sconces on each side of the bed. Fully furnished with furniture, kitchen cookware, dishes and utensils, bed linens & blankets, as well as bathroom towels and washcloths, you should have everything you need. There are also life jackets if you want to go out in the row boat. Just bring your food and clothing and you are all set!
There is a county park across the lake where you can launch your boat. There is a dock to tie it to in front of the house. The accessibility of the dock varies depending upon the time of year and the weather. It can be shallow at certain times of the year so please check on this if this is important to you.
Beautifully wooded grounds provide shady comfort. Convenient to shopping. Just 30 minutes from downtown Tacoma, WA, and 10 minutes from the Gig Harbor Downtown and Waterfront and 15 minutes from UpTown Gig Harbor.
This is a cabin in the woods at the bottom of a hill, with a steep drive, right on the edge of the lake. The lake is subject to Mother nature and may be higher one year than another, which may affect the availability of the fire pit and dock. It's a rustic location and you are out in the boonies somewhat. It's not a hotel, but the bed is very comfortable and the sheets are 400 count egyptian cotton! There's a modern, updated kitchen and bath; and it features Wi-Fi and lake views from 3 sides of the house! It's a great place to getaway from it all, or to go and catch up on some computer work. Sleeps two comfortably, but four are possible with a hideabed in the living room. Feel free to send questions. Thanks!
I spent two weeks at the lake cabin on what might be classified
as a working vacation, and enjoyed every minute of it. The kitchen
and living area are designed so that I could look at the lake whatever
I was doing. It is extremely private and surrounded by beauty and calm,
with the sightings of a deer, an eagle and three baby raccoons thrown
in. Julie has provided the little extras that made me feel like I was at
home, and I was very sorry that I had to leave. Deborah from L.A.
Thank you for such a lovely cabin. We really enjoyed ourselves. We watched some sort of animal swim in by the dock-just enjoyed the serene location-seemed like time stood still for us. Great Restaurants are: Lele's (behind Borders) awesome egg rolls and sweet & sour beef. Kelly's-lunch-Turkey Gobbler Sandwich. Anthonys-Chop chop salad. Katie from Boise
I purchased this home as a personal escape. It is very private and rural, yet just minutes from shopping and amenities. I would like to share it with you as it is so beautiful. It has recently been updated and is very comfortable. Lots of windows that look out to the lake. The cabin is so close to the lake that sometimes it feels like the house is floating. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have.
Julie M. Collison purchased this house in 2007
I chose to buy this home as it is very close to Tacoma and only takes about 30 minutes to get there from downtown Tacoma. It is just 10 minutes from shopping at Downtown Gig Harbor, and is very private and pretty. It is close to amenities, but feels very far away. It reminds me of the San Juan Islands when I am there.
It is a good place to go to fish, to think, to hike, to swim or just to get away from it all. It is at the end of a private, tree lined drive and very quiet. There is a fully stocked kitchen and meals are easy with a full sized frige, a downdraft Jenn Air range, and Microwave. Enjoy cooking meals there with the lovely view of the lake. Birds and Wildlife, including Bald Eagles, hawks, finches, wood ducks, mallard ducks, loons, geese, chipmunks, squirells, and raccoons can be seen around the lake. The lake is only a few steps from the home. From the Expansive Cedar Deck it feels like you are almost in the water yourself. There is a state park with a boat launch just across the lake and there is a nice dock to tie up your boat right out in front of the home. The home is on the Good Fishing side of the lake. The lake is stocked every year with fish from the Pierce County Parks Dept. The large mouth bass and rainbow trout are good eating!
Thank you for such a lovely cabin. We really enjoyed ourselves. We watched some sort of animal-an otter or? something-swim in by the dock & marsh-just enjoyed the serene location. Seemed like time stood still for us. We found a great church in Gig Harbor-First Love Church www.FirstLoveChurch.com and since I work with gals who have lots of problems his sermons are "amazing" like last Sunday on how to "heal" from rejection. Was a great blessing personally to me-I can make classes from his words. Anyway, we met many people there and we went to a Madrigal show with 6 people from church! Then had coffee with one guy and lunch with a gal who goes twice a year to India-We have had adventures! Great Restaurants: Lele's (behind Borders) awesome egg rolls & sweet & sour beef; Kelly's-lunch-Turkey Gobbler Sandwich; Anthonys-Chop Chop Salad. Kati from Boise.
Such a wonderful lake house. Everything we needed. Already have recommended to others and want to go back!!
I rented this cabin for my parents and sister for my wedding weekend because our wedding was just down the street. Check-in was smooth and Julie was super nice, even though I was running late because of traffic. The driveway is a little scary--it's a gravel driveway that's quite steep in places, with a couple of sharp turns, so be prepared for that. The cabin is very cute and quite spacious, I thought even a bit more so than it looks in the pictures. It's clean and tastefully decorated. Julie has thought of nice little touches like binoculars and a bird guide! There's now wi-fi and a phone there too, which is nice. You do have to conserve water as much as possible, I think due to the septic system or something. The deck is huge and inviting. You're right on the water, and there's a rowboat, some life jackets, etc. Right in front of the house is not great for swimming because it's shallow and a bit reedy, but if you wanted to swim you could just go farther out. The water seems clean and it's a nice lake. Anyway, my family really liked it, and found it very peaceful. They were glad to be close to our wedding house, but have their own retreat. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed this light/bright cabin. Great water view. Lots of birds. Loved the frogs. Morning on the deck was peaceful and relaxing. Nice updated kitchen, there were even spices and a few staples. Great for two. Sleep was wonderful, it was so quiet. Great dvd selection.
It was a nice cabin to explore from. You need good directions, Julie was very accommodating, quiet, with everything one would need, including blackberries right outside :)
My husband and I stayed at the lakefront cabin for three nights. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway. As a previous reviewer stated, there is no wifi or satellite. However, Julie made that clear in her listing. It was fine with me as we were taking the trip to enjoy the outdoors! Julie was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We took advantage of the row boat that is on the property, which was a nice touch. She also refunded our deposit promptly. We would definitely stay here again!
I rented cabin while I was in the process of relocating to Gig Harbor. It is a quaint cabin with all the necessities of home. There was a few minor issues that I could overlook. I would rent again if I did not find a place already to rent permanently.
We are so close to the town of Gig Harbor, that you must visit it when you come. Gig Harbor hosts some of the most expensive homes in Pierce County. The downtown area is located on the largest estuary in the Northwest. Lots of cool shops and parks and things to do in town.
If you are into hiking, there is a large forest down the road where you can walk for hours. Some also ride their bikes through the trails. My favorite thing to do is lie around in a flotation device let my boyfriend pull me in the rowboat! There is a great restaurant in Purdy called the Flotation Device (The float , for short). They have great breakfasts and also usually have live music on the weekends for dancing.
