Great location and amenities. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay here. The location is central to everything (restaurants, grocery, ski shops, etc) and bus route to lifts is around the corner. The unit has everything you would need for a few days or even longer. We'll be coming back for years to come. Now, how do we keep this place our little secret so we always have availability? ;)

Great location, excellent yard, perfect service

  • 4 of 5

This is a great property, inexpensive and walking distance to everything. Private back yard with hot tub. Very close to the neighbors, it can get noisy. Not fancy by any stretch, but great for a getaway. Jordan's service and response times were excellent.

Great location; not great neighbors and needs attention to cleaning

  • 2 of 5

This location is great for walking everywhere in downtown Breck and convenient to all of Breck's amenities. The hot-tub was nice and private. However, before booking you should be aware that the neighboring property's deck and hot-tub faces the master bedroom's windows . Our neighbors for our two night stay partied until 3 am both nights. I get that the owner doesn't have much control about what the neighbors do, but sleeping in the master bedroom was not possible for our stay (yes, the windows were closed, but you can hear everything being said outside next door!). Also, I would expect a cleaner room given the high cleaning fee. Upon arrival there was noticeable dirt and hair on the tile floor. I dropped a piece of black clothing on the rug in the bedroom and when I picked it up was horrified at the amount of dog hair, human hair, and just dirt that was on it. The bathrooms are also not getting cleaned very well on a consistent basis as there was visible mildew and grime. Finally, no amenities like shampoo or shower soap or lotion - so bring your own. Overall, if you're okay with the parties next door and don't plan on sleeping and don't mind the dirty floors, this is an okay place. We won't be returning.

Great property, terrible experience

  • 2 of 5

I'll preface this review by stating that throughout the entire ordeal of this rental, the property manager, Jordan, was never anything but completely polite and interested in problem-solving.

That being said, this was the first and last time I'll ever rent from VRBO.

When we arrived at the Breckenridge rental on Friday 12/2, we immediately noticed that a few of the amenities weren't working. The hot tub was turned onto Economy mode and a chilly 54 degrees, and the fireplace wasn't working altogether. Throughout the first day we were there, I had numerous phone calls and text exchanges with Jordan, the property manager, trying to solve this problem. It took over 24 hours for the hot tub to heat up, and the fireplace wasn't fixed until late Saturday night.

When you rent a unit for just 2 days to utilize particular amenities and the amenities don't work for half the time, it's not okay, and we were promised compensation for that night. I'd also advise the manager to look into another cleaning service as well, as one of the beds had sheets with dark hair on them that appeared to never have been changed.

Days after we left the rental, we got a phone call saying that the manager thought we may have damaged a door worth $1,000, and as such was putting our security deposit and refund for the other problems on hold. We assured them that the door was warped from extreme temperatures, as it was attached to the water heater, and we couldn't have done it. We went back and forth for about a week until they finally decided to put the blame on the previous tenant. (I maintain that it was caused by the temperature and cold freeze, and not any of their tenants, but I'm just happy we weren't on the hook for it.)

Jordan apologized for the problems and still agreed to refund a night's stay. However, when the refund was processed, it was only a partial amount. The fact that I had to chat with Jordan pretty much every other day since I left Colorado on 12/4 to problem solve this is ridiculous and unacceptable.

We have tried to get this squared away through VRBO, but for some unfathomable reason, they were unable to process the complete amount. We've resorted to just cutting a check and sending in the mail. I didn't receive my final refund until 1/10.

I will not be renting from VRBO the next time I travel.
