This house has been in our family for 30 years and was recently remodeled and 'made-over' for guests to enjoy this beautiful historical neighborhood.
This neighborhood is uniquely walkable and was settled in the late 1800's by the Dutch. Therefore the streets are lined with mature trees and the houses have a depth of character. It is in a very desirable neighborhood due to its proximity to downtown. It is very close to shopping, recreation, antiquing, and dozens of restaurants in addition to walking distance to light rail.
My husband and I came to Denver to visit our 2 daughters who live very nearby this Platt Park Bungalow. I can only echo what other reviews have said and wish that we would have had more time linger on this trip. Communications with Deb in advance were prompt and thorough, the house was sparkling clean, with nearly every "home away from home" amenity one could want: a kitchen ready to cook in, wonderful beds and linens, a lovely back patio area for eating outside and visiting, an easy neighborhood to navigate both by car or on foot. Deb met us and went over some basics of the house and left us with a welcome bottle of wine! Honestly, this is such a terrific house in a charming neighborhood. We'd come back to this house in a heartbeat. Three cheers and much gratitude to our gracious hosts. Thank you!
This home has been the best we ever stayed at. It seemed like "home away from home" and was very cozy. We felt very safe in this neighborhood. The owner, Deb, was very welcoming and even went out of her way the first night because our plane got in very late at night. We were amazed to see the house was so neat and clean. The beds were very comfortable and everything you needed was provided. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely rent this home again. There is even a well-kept patio which was very beautiful but we didn't have the time to enjoy it.Thank you so much, Deb and Dan. You made our stay so much more enjoyable. We love Colorado.
We couldn't have asked for more while visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. We felt so at home we didn't want to leave. We cooked in the well-stocked kitchen, lounged by the fire (watching the Broncos beat the Patriots with snow blanketing the lawn outside), and walked to Pearl Street for breakfast and other good eats. Though we had everything we needed, Deb was readily available for any questions or problems. Great house, great location, great hosts. We'll be back!
My daughter lives within walking distance so this was a wonderful place to stay. The house is fully equipped with everything I needed. This place is cozy, warm and very clean. I felt right at home, almost as if I was in a family member's home. Deb was very clear, very easy to deal with and I enjoyed the wine left for my arrival! I came and went many times and parking was always readily available, at all times. The neighborhood is safe and I actually walked to do some of my Christmas shopping on Pearl Street. I stayed with my grown son and his wife and we enjoyed the gas fireplace on the cold evenings when watching tv. I will most definitely stay at this location in the future.
This house worked perfect for me as I visited with my daughter who lived a block away. The kitchen was well equipped although all I did was make coffee and bagels in the morning. I slept like a baby in the well equipped bedroom. Nice gas fire place for watching TV. Looking forward to using this comfortable get a way many times in the future.
We recently stayed here for much of the month of October. It is in a quiet, friendly older Denver neighborhood within easy walking distance to local parks, restaurants and shopping. It is very well equipped and lacked nothing in amenities for small family get togethers or having guests for dinner. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay here and absolutely intend to stay here again on future trips to Denver. Highly recommended.
