About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 9-11)

Our home is located in a peaceful community within Arch Cape. The home has ocean views and is only a short walk to a beautiful beach, which is very secluded. Oswald State Park is only five minutes south on 101 and includes great hiking through old growth forests where you can either climb up to a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean or you can hike down to the beach where you will find local surfers, there are also magnificent tidal pools on the North end of the beach. Arcadia and Hug Point State Parks are only a few minutes north of the property. They are some of the most beautiful beaches in the area.

Cannon Beach is only 4 miles north with the famous Haystack rock and many fun family activities and with great dining from expensive to moderate rates. Cannon Beach also has a great selection of specialty stores. 8 miles north of Cannon Beach is Seaside where there are many activities from visiting the aquarium, where you can feed the harbor seals, to shopping, bowling and even a movie theater and a family area filled with family activities.

The property itself is beautifully decorated with up to date bathrooms and a full-size kitchen with everything needed. The upstairs has three bedroom and two full baths. The downstairs is like an apartment of its own with one bedroom a living room equipped with TV, DVD and X-box with games and a kitchenette and dining room table.

About Uli heimerdinger

We love our beach house and have already spent our first Thanksgiving at the new house. There are many fun activities to do in the area from shopping at Cannon Beach or Manzanita to surfing at Oswald West State Park.

Uli heimerdinger purchased this house in 2009

Why Uli heimerdinger chose Northern Coast

We chose to buy a vacation property in this area because it is at the beach and we all love to go to the beach. It is the closest beach to Portland which makes it easy to get to. Also the northern coast has some of the most scenic areas in Oregon.

What makes this house unique

Location, Location, Location. The community is very quiet and peaceful. The beach is gorgeous. Oswald state park is 5 minutes away with great surfing. Seaside and Cannon Beach are very close Seaside is about 15 minutes with great shopping and fun activities to do with the family. Manzanita is also about 15 minutes with shopping and activities that are a little different than Cannon Beach and Seaside. Arcadia Beach is just a few minutes down the road which is our families favorite beach to visit for the past 20 years.

Great location but . . . . . . . . .

  • 2 of 5

This home is in a great location in Arch Cape and also has a great trail to a very secluded beach. The actual home needs some attention. For the "in season" rate we paid I expected much more. The downstairs area has a very strong mildew smell, the carpet upstairs needs to be cleaned or replaced (stains and worn), the bedding needs new blankets (stains and smells) and sheets (holes/rips), the main bath tub was dirty and the shower liner was filthy (mold), and the appliances are extremely outdated and need to be replaced. I recently received a Property Damage Claim Submission Confirmation stating that we stole the toaster. I have a fully functional toaster at home and we weren't interested in the old and stained model at this home. Look in the cabinet next to the sink.

Be sure to do your research before booking this property. Its not worth the money.

An annual destination

  • 4 of 5

This house sleeps our whole family and is so convenient to a perfect (and practically private) beach that it has been designated as "the spot" for our annual Oregon Coast vacation. House is large enough for a crowd and not so new that you have to worry about kids making a mess. Great deck. Large and fairly well equipped kitchen. Comfortable house and with the space downstairs for privacy away from the main floor, works well for multi-generations. Clean and well maintained. Convenient to hiking in the nearby state parks, to Canon Beach and Seaside (if the kids must do the arcade), Tillamook and other places. An easy drive to get there from Seattle or Portland. Couldn't ask for much more - well, maybe a few more towels and face cloths.

Lovely area and nice home

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely weekend at Arch Cape! House was spacious, bathrooms nice and updated, and it was a nice short walk to the beach with a tunnel that goes safely under 101. Would stay again!

The house worked well for our family.

  • 4 of 5

The house was comfortable and large enough to accommodate our family. The living area and the deck were favorite places for us to gather to talk and the easy walk to a quiet beach was definitely a bonus. Be aware that the CCR rules of the neighborhood do not allow RVs to be parked at the house.

We loved our stay here in this great rental property!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of seven (parents and five kids) who stayed here for four nights while traveling around Oregon. We really loved this house! It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The huge porch was perfect for hanging out and eating outside..... nice view from the porch as well. It's an easy walk to the beach and we had fun strolling and playing on the beach. We had fun playing ping pong in the basement. There is so much to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, and the beautiful drive to Manzanita.

Lovely house, even more scenic than the VRBO pictures indicate. basement was a bit cold and musty, but overall a good experience.
