Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Your ultimate vacation beach house starts with 2 ten foot wide porches, each equipped with rockers and hammocks. The front porch also has a swing and spectacular unobstructed views of the marsh and unrivaled marsh sunsets. We are fortunate to have the only Fripp home with full size porches viewing both the ocean and marsh sunsets.

The beachside porch has rockers, hammock, and a table for your morning coffee with sunrises for early risers, dining, etc. In season you will want to reach out and touch the shrimp boats and then go to the nearby docks for fresh seafood. The porch leads to an open deck seating area with shower, which in turn leads to the beach. At low tide, your 400ft wide beach extends north for 3 miles and south for 12 houses to a half mile sandbar and an inlet. The inlet fronts onto the adjacent undeveloped Prichards Island with two miles of pristene beaches for a more varied island beach experince. This island is accessible via kayak or boat and is devoted to sea turtle research. At mid tide, the beach is 200 ft wide and has a tidal pool for the little ones. At high tide, there is essentially no beach giving you time to rest in one of the 3 hammocks, explore the island, visit one of the islands six pools and other club amenities available to our guests with purchase of amenity cards. Amenities include two golf courses, ten tennis courts, six pools, children's camp, restaurants, cruises, gym, computer business center, equipment rental, shops, and more. Located to the north beyound the islands security gate and bridge is Hunting Island which includes a spectacular light house. Did we mention crabbing, surf fishing, guided creek and deep sea fishing?

The sunroom has a panoramic ocean view. It has a love seat and three chairs for reading, relaxing and visiting. There also is a game table for family fun plus a built in desk for computer/printers(WiFi) for those who want to keep in touch with the 'other world'. The living room includes 2 sofas plus 2 oversized arm chairs, TV, DVD, CD, fireplace and is open to the kitchen and dining areas. The open dining area has a large 10 seat dining table which combined with the kitchen counter bar and game table will accommodate everyone. The kitchen includes 2 refrigerators with ice machines, 2 ovens, one flat cook top, an island and plenty of open pantry storage. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances. Both porches, all bedrooms, L.R. and Sunroom have ceiling fans. The basement cook area includes a gas grill and burners-pots for shrimp and crab boils.

The bedrooms sleep 12 as follows:

Master Bedroom with spectacular ocean views- King with private full bath, TV, DVD,VCR, Sofa and doubles as the grandchildren's entertainment center when no one is napping.

Great grandmothers Private Hall Bedroom- Double bed, TV, and utilizes full hall bath equipped with hand bars for safe usage and can double as son-in-law sports viewing room.

Family Bedrooms #1 & #2- Each includes a double bed and a single bed, sleeping 3 each. Both share a private full shower bathroom.

Ground Level Bedroom- Two single beds with private full shower bath and TV is accessed from the kitchen area via an enclosed stairwell. This is ideal for teens, newlyweds and others seeking privacy. We have found that the adjacent slighly enlarged entrance way is an ideal quite place for the babys playpin(crib).

The house has recently been remodeled throughout. The front and ocean porches include child gates. The ground level stairwell is accessible from the garage for all weather access. Washers and dryers are located on the main living floor. The Master Bedroom is connected to the kitchen enabling the hostess to better serve her guests. SOMEBODY has to keep order in paradise.

The islands wildlife includes porpoises that patrol off the beach and can be intercepted via kayak, deer that are readily approached, sea turtles that require late night beach patrol and our favorite taking granchildren hunting alligators who should always be viewed from afar. The well supplied basement carrol includes 3 double sit-on-top kayaks and 1 child's kayak, life vest, crab supplies making for exceptional fun in the ocean, cannal, creeks, short trips to the adjacent island, visiting the amenity pools and sightseeing. Equipment rentals include golf cars, scooters, bicycles, boats, kayaks, jet skis, etc.

Sunday check out allows your weekend guests time to stay through Sunday morning. Off season rentals are generally arranged through Monday to give you even more flexibility for your guests whom can only get in a long weekend in paradise. Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am to allow adequate servicing time. Make your own schedule in the offseason to include ten day two full weekend stays, etc.

PARADISE = Beach - Sun Sets - Hammocks - Shrimp Boats - Deer - Gators - Golf - Pools - Family - Grandchildren -

About The Owner

My family and I have been coming to Fripp Island now for 40 years. We decided to purchase a home in 1998 so that the children and grandchildren would be able to enjoy this unique family oriented island for years into the future.

The Owner purchased this house in 1998

Why The Owner chose Low Country & Resort Islands

We chose Fripp Island because of its beautiful beaches, pool and sports amenities, abundant wildlife and secure gatted access.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy relaxing with family and friends but particuely enjoy seeing our children and ourselves introducing the granchildren to the beach wonders of the lowcountry.

Frippin' Out in October!

  • 5 of 5

Great time at Fripp, as usual! We have stayed at this house several times and always love coming back! It is a great place to "get away" and still feel at home. This beach house is comfortable, spacious, and only steps away from the ocean! We especially enjoy having the kayaks and the golf cart to use during our stay. The kitchen has everything you need for a large group, and the downstairs cooking area is perfect for preparing the local shrimp and oysters! The desk area in the sunroom turned into my husband's office on this trip so he could work and play! We love the front and back porches-hammocks are everywhere! This is "going to the beach" like you have never experienced it before. Thank you for sharing your special beach house!

Great location, great floor plan, great porches with great views. Needs updating. And needs thorough cleaning inside and outside. Some basics like dishwasher detergent, trash bags not provided. Bicycles provided but not useable.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week with our children, daughters in law, and 4 grands. There were 12 of us and we had plenty of room. The porches, hammocks, and open floor plan were so nice. The office in the sunroom was wonderful for 2 of our family members worked part of the week. They enjoyed the ocean view and still being with the family yet working. We all felt like we were at home. The Kitchen had all the things needed for cooking for a large group. Some of the family enjoyed kayaking and fishing. The grands loved the beach. It was a great vacation!!!

Great Week

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time at Fripp Island and this property. I can say that both exceeded our expectations. The owners of the property were very easy to work with and communicated via email and phone calls to make sure our stay was a good one. If you are looking for the most luxurious house on the island this is probably not the one, but if you are looking for one that is very comfortable, clean and a place you really feel like your at a beach house then this is what you will be looking for. The best part about this house was the location, being at the very end of the island the beach at low tide went out forever and made our sea kayaking adventure starting points very easy.

The good points about the house were: Location, use of the golf cart, use of the kayaks (4 of them), close proximity to a great sunset viewing location, clean comfortable home, the deer, and great, friendly landlords who truly make you feel welcome.

The only bad points about the house was: The house was advertised to have four usable bicycles, we only found one to be in working condition, yes you can rent bicycles on the island, which we did. But the use of the owner's golf cart and kayaks made up for the little inconvenience of having to rent the bicycles on the island.

What we liked about the island: The feel of security, family oriented, great beach at low to medium tide, great places for the kids to explore and ride their bikes and a great golf course.

What we did not like about the island: The requirements of the amenity cards. I did not mind too much the cost, it was just the fact that you had to remember to bring them every place you went on the island if you wanted to purchase something.

In conclusion if you want a beach and a beach house that is family friendly and that has an owner who will respond to you quickly and make you feel like a friend then this is the place for you.

Our extended family of 7 adults and five grandchildren ranging in age from 1 to 11, thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Fripp and the hospitality accorded us by the owner. We have been to Fripp many times but never get tired of the scenery, tranquility and the wonderful memories we accumulate. The beach home was perfect for our needs with more than adequate space, bedrooms, towels and kitchen items. The second refrigerator was also greatly appreciated as we stocked up on food and beverages for the week. The beach was a hugh hit with the little ones as they spashed in the ocean at low tide, built sand structures and attempted to catch the smaller fish and crabs around the rocks on the beach. Equally enjoyable was the availability of beach access at high tide and the wonderful sun porch when we had had enough sun. Our adult kids rented golf carts which became our primary mode of transportation for most of the week except for the many trips made to local off island companies to secure our shrimp and scallops. Ice cream was a nightly treat for the kids (ages 1-41) as was the frequent excursions to find alligators. We also greatly appreciated the two contacts from the owner to ensure our stay at the beach was enjoyable. The week went by far too quickly but we know it is only a temporary problem since we are already making plans for our next vacation on Fripp.
