About Christine Summers
I was born in Paris, France. From there I moved to Rome for 4 years, then to New York City where I lived for 25 years in the East Village. I’ve also traveled to a variety of exotic places: Nepal, India, Algeria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Jamaica, Mexico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Sicily, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Panama, Laos, Vietnam, Turkey, and Bali. I have been all around the world and experienced many extraordinary places, but I’ve chosen to live in Woodstock and San Miguel de Allende -- both locations suffused with beauty, soul, and community.
Christine Summers purchased this House in 1994
Why Christine Summers chose Woodstock
My husband and I fell in love with the house as soon as we entered the living room! It was magical. After two years of searching and seeing more than 100 homes for sale, we totally fell in love with 7 Wiley Lane -- the light, the views, the spacious living room, the peace and quiet, and the feeling of the house! It was a benevolent place to bring up our two children and experience some of the best years of our life. The history of the land upon which our home is built is rich with art, music, creativity, and self-expression. The original owner of the property was the legendary Ruth Ingalls, a grand dame who turned what is now our home into a Creative Arts camp – a destinatin where Bob Dylan and many other locals sent their children to learn, grow, and experience. Jimi Hendrix once lived across the street. So did Jimmy Cobb, the legendary drummer who played with Miles Davis. George Bellows, the great American painter lived on the next block. And today, the tradition continues. Within a five-minute drive are the homes and studios of more than 40 artists – many of whom will be happy to show you their work (if we give them just a bit of notice). When friends come to visit, they don't want to leave, remarking again and again of how "at home" they feel here -- and how they rarely have as restful a night's sleep as they do when they are here. We are not surprised. Woodstock is, indeed, a place to connect, enjoy, and experience.
What makes this House unique
Our home is situated on a quiet, picturesque, dead end lane just a 12-minute walk from the center of town of Woodstock -- an enchanting village with it's delightful cafes, restaurants, shopping, and conveniences. We find the location ideal. When we want our privacy, we have it. When we want community, it is just a short walk away. One of the things we love the most about our home is that it feels like a sanctuary -- with its beautiful gardens, mountain views, privacy, and places to lounge on our back deck and bluestone terraces. Original artwork is on every wall. Wireless internet in every room. Stereo system and hundreds of CDs. Two flatscreen TVs. Simply put, our home is a great vacation place -- a haven.. a fun family home away from home! Come and experience it. We wouldn't be all that surprised if you decide to move to Woodstock after staying here.

A great house to gather with family or friends
We were 4 siblings and spouses gathered for a long weekend reunion...and we are so glad to have had the perfect house. Blue Pearl is roomy, comfortable, and interesting. We enjoyed use of the hot tub, the new grill, the large TV with HDMI input, fireplace, reliable WiFi, and proximity to town. Christine was there to greet us and walk through the home with us, as well as suggesting some good eateries and sights to see.
We did discover late our first night that there was no hot water, but through Christine a serviceman came and fixed the problem within an hour. We were grateful and impressed.
A great house in a great location in a great region.
Wonderful place for a weekend getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Pearl and in Woodstock. Everything was perfect, easy to book, easy to get to, wonderful cottage, great location, a short pleasant walk into the village. Very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. A very relaxing and romantic place to stay. Thank you!
This sweet cottage was pure delight. Everything about it was wonderful.....to the feeling of zen; designer sheets and comfortable bed to the fire pit! Even had a sweet bunny greet us every morning. Will definitely return in the fall!
When my fiancé and I first walked into the Blue Pearl we were in awe. Much bigger then we anticipated, we walked around taking in the sun shining from the skylights throughout the living room space and bedroom. (There is a shade for the skylight in the bedroom for those sensitive to sunlight in the AM). The kitchen was very cute and well equipped with anything you may need for a nice meal. It was nice to have different types of tea provided if you were in the mood for a cup on a cozy night or first thing in the morning. The bathroom has great hot water and the basic essentials you may need with fresh towels. We loved the small fireplace that was put in the cottage for ambience. There is good heating and AC in the cottage. Cd's and a small radio, chess, checkers and cards, books are provided for your down time. This place was very clean and the decor was like no other... It was a bit nippy outside for this time of year so we decided not to sit out front in the garden but we would love to when we come back! There are lots of shops near by which we loved and had a great time buying a few things. The people in the small town near by are very friendly. The restaurants near by have good food. A lot of organic ingredients which is always a plus for me! Overall we had a very relaxing stay and would love to revisit!
Thank you A & C for choosing the Blue Pearl! We would love to welcome you back anytime.
Upon arriving at a vacation destination , whether it be a house, cottage, cabin, hotel room, we usually do so with great anticipation. Opening the door to the Blue Pearl was like none other!. The cottage is warm, inviting, beautiful with the owners art work displayed and the unique lovely decor. Although it was cold for this time of year, each day we bundled up and enjoyed the view of overlook mountain from the front yard. Thank you for this great experience. We want to come again and will tell our relatives and friends about the Blue Pearl.
With warm regards,
Larry and Joan
My boyfriend and I had a marvelous stay at the Blue Pearl. The Blue Pearl truly lives up to its name "The Hidden Gem". It is located in a quiet, peaceful area surrounded by nature and its beautiful amenities. The interior is magnificent and shines all over. I would strongly recommend this rental to anyone who is interested in a unique and one of a kind experience. Thank you!!!
