Stunning White Water Ocean & Misty Mountain Views

Bedrooms 1
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

Beautiful Villa with spectacular views of the entire southern coast.

'With stunning views of the incredible South Pacific shoreline and majestic mountains, this invitingly warm home, comfortably nestled into the mountainside, offers a tranquil and cozy living space that is beautifully integrated into its natural jungle setting. The perfectly maintained grounds and mixture of hand crafted furniture, textured fabrics and other comfortable furnishings, lend a soft, simple elegance to the Casa.

Everyone agrees, we have found the perfect spot, and now we would like to share it with you. We are the last house at the end of a country lane, in a small but prestigious community on the Escaleras mountain ridge, called Las Terrazas. We are 8 minutes off the main highway, (and we do recommend you rent a 4x4 vehicle for this area in general) up to the perfect elevation for cool breezes, but not high enough to be obscured by clouds. Our 5 acres are mostly jungle, so the houses butt up and into the forest. Monkeys, toucans and sloths are our constant companions in the trees by the pool. We look down the dramatic southern Pacific coast line, over crescent beaches and white water splashing on the rocks, as well as the majestic mountain backdrop, indeed all the way to the Osa Peninsula! Hence our name, "Osa Vistas."

Casa Vista is the perfect blend of homey comfort and tropical living, with high vaulted ceilings and fans, it will surely feel like your home away from home in no time.

It's a beautiful, self contained studio with a queen size bed. It has a small full kitchen and a lovely bath, but the private front porch with it's spectacular view is the place you'll spend most of your time, or enjoy the pool at the big house with it's stunning view. Our pool is shared only by the owners & one other rental casa so it's an intimate crowd. We also enjoy gathering with guests at the pool or on our porch to hear tales of their adventures...the choice is yours!

We are happy to be as involved or uninvolved in your stay as you would like. We are on site and can help with setting up any number of tours, massages or dinner reservations. We are also available to visit on Skype, e-mail, or phone, or our website, to discuss any questions regarding your visit to Costa Rica. We look forward to hearing from you.

Questions? We are available to chat via phone, Skype, by email or thru our website at

Keywords: Our dream home, can now be your dream vacation home! Enjoy your honeymoon, romantic getaway, or as a great family/friends getaway with the additional jungle villa. Secluded in nature for privacy, but close enough to beaches, surfing, waterfalls, horseback riding, zip-lining, nature reserves, fabulous restaurants and spas, snorkeling and scuba, etc...

Why Diane Connors chose Dominical

We did a long trip thru Costa Rica & fell in love with this are, so here we are! We really love and enjoy the hospitality biz so now we live and work at what we love to do. Peter spends hours in the gardens, he loves to plant things that grow unbelievably quickly! We're here to help with whatever our guests may need but we give you total privacy at your casita

What makes this villa unique

This is a place to let your hair down, relax and enjoy nature. Because we are so close to the jungle, you will see more wildlife here than in other rentals. You can conveniently do as much or as little as you like while you're here. It's a very central location for the area.

Osa Vista Acres and Casa Vista are spectacular!

  • 5 of 5

You'll absolutely love this very special part of Costa Rica's southeast Pacific Coast, the interesting towns from Quepos to Ojochal, the "string of pearls" beaches, and Diane's and Peter's beautiful place and spectacular hospitality.

I stayed at Casa Vista for 10 days in March 2015. The casita is perfect - completely well-appointed and has everything you need. The view is breathtaking -- all day any day, but especially at sunrise.

Diane and Peter are great and so into their community - they have wonderful spot-on suggestions and recommendations, really know the area thoroughly, and can help you plan your time there. It's also great just to hang around the beautiful pool with them and Derby, the darling Australian shepherd. Poolside, I had close-up experiences with a Toucan, a very busy 3-toed sloth (believe it or not!), and a family of howler monkeys making their way through the trees. Unbelievable.

There is so much to do and see in this area, and Highway 34 is a magnificent road in perfect condition. Calle Escaleras, off of which Osa Vista Acres/Casa Vista is located, is as challenging and Diane and Peter advise you --- do rent a 4WD SUV. It is in fact mandatory! You get used to the road -- it's only 3 kms from Hwy 34.

I can't say enough --- book your visit now and you'll be fighting me for rebookings!

Property was clean, and very well kept

  • 5 of 5

I loved Casa Vista in escaleras. The setting was great -- jungle; wildlife; howler monkeys...and the views were spectacular--even on cloudy days. Diane & Peter (the married couple renting their house) were awesome -- friendly, knowledgeable, and overall very helpful regarding any questions I had about Costa Rica.

I will definitely stay at Casa Vista again, and am already thinking about my return visit to escaleras!

Casta Vista Escaleras Mountains

  • 5 of 5

March 12th, 2018

My wife and I arrived @ Casta Vista at 5:00 p.m. Diane was there to give us a warm welcome. She took the time to answer every question that we had and show us to our Casita. The view of the ocean and the entire estate was breath taking beautiful. Peter and Diane suggested where to buy groceries in Uvita and the best beaches to visit. The temperature was very pleasant for being in this tropical climate. The swimming pool was a cool refreshing treat to cool down in after a long day of exploring. The highlight of our time in Dominical was the tour that Peter & Diane suggested with Marvin a local Tico. This was what we always wanted to do and finally we have the opportunity to do it. Visit a true Costa Rica Ranch & Farm, Milk a cow, have dinner with a real Costa Rican family, ride horses to the most well know unbelievable waterfall in this country. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we have already started planning a longer trip for next year. Thank You Peter and Diane.

Close to Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was idyllic. The house was totally private and secluded in lush gardens, with a breath taking view. The casita was clean, well appointed and cozy. I could move in forever;-)

We did have trouble finding it as there is not a sign anywhere that we could see, and the directions were very general. Diane 'talked us in' so we did arrive in one piece.

great casita, stunning view, super private, loads to do!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Dianne and Peter's place. The view is even more gorgeous than the photos show, because it is ever-changing. The casita is beautiful and very private. The pool is lovely as well. We really liked the location, with plenty of things to do both north and south. You really do need a 4 wheel drive, but it is only a ten minute drive off of the main road and once you have done it once it is a breeze. Enjoyed our chats with Dianne and Peter and their cat and dog. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Doesn't get better

  • 5 of 5

Last year, my husband and I came to Costa Rica to explore different areas and accommodations, hoping to find a place for a future, longer, stay. Casa Osa Vista exceeded our hopes, and this year we returned for 10 days. Still not long enough! There is some presence of civilization – other homes on the mountainside – but from the moment you arrive at the end of the road that leads to this cozy cabin, tucked in among the palms and banana trees, you feel you've come to your own tropical hideaway. There is lots to do outdoors in the Dominical area. But we wanted mostly to lay low, and this was the place to do it. My idea of a perfect day: Wake before dawn, and listen to the monkeys and birds as the sun comes up behind the mountain across the valley and the view unfolds. (Warning - it's hard to tear yourself away!) Walk down the road, which is much like a trail through the rain forest, full of birds and beautiful flowering plants and shrubs. Head down the mountain for lunch, then come back to float in the beautifully landscaped pool, watching for the toucans that usually come to the trees. Cook dinner while gazing out the perfectly situated window to see the changing light over the hills and mountains. The cabin has everything you need, all with style and flair. There's shade all day, few bugs, and lots of windows in case you don't want to use the air conditioning at night. Diane and Peter are great hosts and can help with anything you need and advise you on nearby adventures and great restaurants. This one really is special.

Car: necessary

When we are feeling vigorous, there is an amazing ocean view hill climb that can be walked, guaranteed to burn off a few pounds during your stay. There is also a Gym in Uvita and lots of Yoga and Pilates studios to choose from. There is a health and beauty spa where you turn off of the highway to come up to the house. The spa features some of the latest health treatments: mud packs, heated stones, massage and so on.

We are also near Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see the animals close up. Most are being rehabbed for release into the wild although some are permanent residents due to the injuries they sustained. Very interesting & informative!
