About the property

Cabin with 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bathroom. (Sleeps 4-6)

The house is a quaint, rustic and secluded cabin on a private freshwater pond. Access to our private dock and swimming area is down a short wooded path. You will be amazed at the crystal clear water and beautiful views. Come relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this wooded paradise. The cabin has modern amenities like DSL, but keeps its rustic charm. Sleeps 4-6 comfortably.

If you are looking for rustic charm, peace and quiet, and an escape from all the bustle, our cabin is your destination. You can while your days away canoeing, fishing, swimming and sunning, relax on our oversized hammock or reading from our book collection on our large screened porch overlooking the pond. Kids will have plenty to do on the water or playing in the yard. There are also assorted board games and toys for your use. Our family has enjoyed vacations at the cabin for more than 60 years and yours will too.

Though the cabin has the feel of a wilderness retreat, local shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, and entertainment is only a 15 minute drive. Come enjoy our little piece of paradise in the woods.

About Jason Craven

My grandfather purchased this property as a fishing lodge in 1940. Since then the cabin has been upgraded with a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, and a dining room. My family has been enjoying summer vacations here for generations. It is a gem - quiet and secluded, beautiful fresh water pond to swim in, but only a 15 minute drive to shopping and beaches. Our children love blueberry picking, swimming, and fishing, and we love a chance to unplug (though there is DSL if you need it).

Why Jason Craven chose South Kingstown

The cabin is on a one-of-a-kind, crystal clear, spring-fed pond and feels like a remote getaway, but it is still close enough to shops, parks, beaches and playgrounds that it is a perfect vacation spot.

What makes this cabin unique

We love fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, starry nights, and peace and quiet in a private, rustic getaway.

Very Good

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet, TV-free vacation in a rustic two-bedroom cabin on a pond w/ wonderful clear-water swimming, boating and fishing, this Cozy Lakefront Cabin is the one you are looking for, w/ the added bonus of being w/in a short drive of restaurants, movie theatres, golf courses, tennis courts, all the usual cultural amenities of an urbane environment. And all this for under $1,500/week!

I would have given this jewel a fifth star, but the absence of a washer-dryer and a minimal sound system caused me to withhold it.

Back in time with pleasure!

  • 4 of 5

Although this cabin is indeed rustic (think an old time cabin), it was a fantastic stay with my family. The cabin has a GREAT porch overlooking the lake which is where we spent most of our time in the mornings and evenings. So much to do in the area (beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc are only 10 minutes away) that you will not spend much time at the cabin during the day unless you are hanging out at the lake. We only spent one full day in the lake, but every morning and evening were spent there swimming and fishing. Speaking of the lake - we lived in this area about 20 years ago and never knew this lake existed. The water is crystal clear and to say the swimming and fishing was fantastic is a total understatement. We landed some really big large mouth bass every single day we fished. Canoe is provided and is large, very stable and really great to use to fish or cruise the lake at sunset. The cabin is located down a long dirt road so when you get there, you will feel as if the entire forest is your own. This cabin is not for those looking for a 5 star resort and service, but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing trip with awesome fishing and a return to nature, this is a great option.

Note: Jason the owner is easy to get in contact with and did a great job from start to finish.
