At the Smiling Moose, kickback and strum a few notes on the guitar, listen to CD's, or watch a DVD....all provided. About Sharon McNeil

We've owned the 'Smiling Moose' since July 2001. We wanted a place that was in the mountains yet easy to get to on the weekends. Our place is perfect. Its far enough away from the city that your in the wilderness yet only about an hour from Denver.

Sharon McNeil purchased this condo in 2001

Why Sharon McNeil chose Northwest

We absolutely love all the outdoor opportunities that abound in this area. Avid skiers, hikers, bikers, etc. will always find something to do to burn off a few extra calories. We would enjoy having you come and stay. As long time Colorado residents, we believe its a blessing to be able to live and play here.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for such great accomodations. Your place is very nice and we had everything we needed. We love visiting CO. The hiking is gorgeous in the summer. Some of our family members climbed their first 14'er - Mt. Quandry. We hope to do many more and would love to stay here again! We saw a huge moose our last night. It was so cool.

Another fabulous vacation!

This is our second time to The Smiling Moose Condo. Let's just say I can see this as an annual event. The condo is the perfect location to visit a variety of ski resorts. It has everything you could possibly need to feel comfortable and right at home. You won't be disappointed!

Destination wedding stay.

  • 5 of 5

This property is awesome! We had nine people and had an abundance of space for everone. It is well maintained. However, don't be silly like I was and not print the directional map. Google maps gets you close but there are many condos to choose from. The deck has relaxing mountain views and the 3 baby fox were an added bonus.

Good location, affordable, wonderful view from back deck.

This was a great little spot for our family to stay. We skied at Copper Mtn, cooked in the condo and enjoyed our stay. The couches in the living room had a pretty good amount of wear and tear, but other than that, it was well taken care of. The pool and hot tub areas in the recreation building were wonderful for the kids. I recommend this to anybody looking to enjoy Colorado while keeping a modest budget. Lastly, the granite countertops were very nice, and Sharon was very kind and helpful. :)

Clean, quiet, comfortable condo in a great location for a week of amazing skiing.

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 6 guys for a week of skiing at the 5 major resorts in the area. The condo was a welcome place to return after a full day of skiing. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable for our group. We chose to eat in every night except one and I did most of the cooking. The kitchen, though a little small, was well stocked with good pots, pans, knives, cutting boards, cooking utensils, etc. There was also an extra large Crock Pot (slow cooker) that we put to good use for a big Irish stew. My only disappointment was with the small grill out on the deck. Admittedly, I am a grill snob who is used to barbecuing on a Big Green Egg. The Charbroil grill was fine for burgers and brats, but to cook a steak, chicken, or fish to perfection for 6 guys on that grill was pretty much impossible... however, the broiler in the oven was an adequate substitute.

The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms, closet space, etc. were all good. It was great having the washer and dryer right in the condo. The clubhouse is a very short walk across the parking lot. The hot tub was a bit small for 6 adults at one time, but we managed by rotating between the pool and sauna.

Sharon was a excellent host... thank you for providing such a nice place to stay!

Perfect for us

  • 5 of 5

We had 10 adults and a baby for a little family reunion/getaway, and the Smiling Moose was perfect for the long weekend. We didn't feel crammed at all and enjoyed cooking our meals in the well-stocked kitchen. The views were great from the balcony. We had some snowboarders in our group who enjoyed the slopes at Copper. The clubhouse pool was warm enough for the baby. Highly recommend.

Enjoy this community within Silverthorne, Colorado nestled high in the trees on Buffalo Mountain.

The Wildernest Neighborhood is one-of-a kind Colorado experience. Centrally located between Dillon and Silverthorne. All the mountains** of Summit County are nearby, as are the conveniences of town such as dining and shopping, yet at Wildernest you’ll enjoy a secluded, quiet mountain vacation. National Forest land is in your backyard, with cross-country and snowshoe trails to enjoy. Views of the spectacular Gore Range and evergreens replace parking lots and traffic. Plus, you'll never be bored with all the fun family events in town!

**Copper Mtn, Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, and don't forget Vail and Beaver Creek!
