Charlestown House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

Located on Ninigret Pond, Charlestown in the exclusive Arnolda Colony, this waterfront house is a classic shingled cape with a spectacular post and beam cathedral living room. The house is well appointed and filled with antiques. The views from the screened in porch off the living room are stunning! Enjoy a fire in the a soapstone wood burning stove, stroll in the gardens or relax and enjoy the wide screen TV. You have use of the dock so you can bring your small boat or kayaks (Ninigret has access to the ocean).

There are 4 bedrooms in which 2 rooms have queens, one room has a queen with another twin bed and one room has a double bed. The two story house has two full bathrooms one upstairs and one down as well as a full kitchen, w/dishwasher, dinning room & laundry on first floor. There is a gas grill, Direct TV with sports package & wireless internet. Although there is no a/c, you won't need it, there are fans and there is a nice cool breeze off the ocean!

There is a private tennis court you can walk to and a private beach that can only be accessed by boat. The beach is on the barrier beach that faces block Island. It is the last undeveloped barrier beach on the east coast and it is just gorgeous with a handful of people for miles, even on the weekends.

Boats can be rented from the local marina. The town beach is about a 5 minute drive. The house is next to Ninigret Park which has walking trails, a wildlife refuge, basketball, tennis, soccer fields, observatory, playground and a fresh water pond. Although the town of Charlestown is a quaint and quiet town it has a thriving flea market on the weekends as well as other major events such as the Big Apple Circus, a seafood festival, Rhythm & Roots--check the Chamber of Commerce. There are several nice restaurants, shops, as well as art galleries. Charlestown is about a 30 minute drive from Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino. It is also just a short drive from The Mystic Seaport and aquarium.

The house is heated.

Why Sarah Fletcher chose Rhode Island

This is a family house that is owned by siblings that live in state. Since the family cannot always be there, the decision was made to rent this beautiful place so others could enjoy a great vacation.

A week in wonderland!

Phenomenal! From the moment we drove down the tree lined road we were captivated. Our arrival took our breath away. The house is idyllic. We were right on the water and the views from several rooms were amazing. The dock was a perfect launch site for our kayak and canoe. We were able to boat to the private beach and enjoy near total privacy. In the evenings we enjoyed just relaxing in the yard and watching the wildlife. There was something for everyone in our group ages 6-53. We rode bikes to the tennis courts, went to Ninigret park and had fun on the playground and fresh water beach, ideal for the little ones. The observatory was open on Friday with amazing views of the night sky. The house itself was unbelievable. Every little detail was taken care of. There was an abundance of high quality plates, glassware, pots and pans. Every kitchen item you could possibly need was ready and waiting. There was even a wonderful collection of spices available. I have never stayed in such a finely appointed rental. There were games and puzzles available. The home was so cozy and comforting. The screen porch was the perfect place for watching the sun rise and for cooling off at night. It truly felt like we were at home. I am already trying to plan a family reunion at this location and the home next door, same owners. An incredible home in an amazing location!

Beautiful house, extremely well equipped kitchen, great layout. We had three generations of family stay here and we all had a wonderful time. The porch is the best spot in the house!

Perfect Place to Exhale!

  • 5 of 5

Look up the definition of COZY and you will find this house! My husband and I spent 5 beautiful days in this warm and perfectly situated house on the POND! Perfect place to kayak....close to everything but you will find it difficult to leave the porch....kitchen stocked....we were lucky enough to meet the owner who was just delightful and so helpful in suggesting restaurants and things to do....

Charming, waterfront getaway

  • 5 of 5

The pictures somehow don't capture just how charming the house and location are. My family and I were so glad we opted not to stay directly on the beach. The neighborhood is private and quiet and it is hard to tire of the view. The house was clean and comfortable and can easily absorb two families. The kitchen is well stocked and the local market has anything you need, including really nice cuts of meat. We kayaked almost every day and enjoyed the access to the private beach. My six-year-old loved the dock and wanted to know if we could buy the house. It is centrally located and the owners have a really detailed pamphlet about what to do in the area, where the best food is, etc. We hope to return next year...

Even Prettier Than The Pictures!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house located on a peaceful cove. Spectacular views of the water from most rooms in the house. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, well-stocked(even provided spices in the kitchen) and beautifully decorated. The owners were extremely helpful and provided valuable info on everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay. We appreciated the restaurant and shopping and places of interest guide they provided.

It was a great location, too. We were able to enjoy many town beaches and explored Newport, Providence, Jamestown, Wickford, Narraganset, and Watch Hill and Pt. Judith and Mystic, CT from here.

Loved canoeing on the pond and relaxing on the screened in porch.

We had a great week and can't wait to come back.
