About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Lovely upscale newer home located on a quiet cul de sac bordering Sugar Pine State Park, the location of the 1960 Olympic cross country ski course. The forest feels like part of the yard and provides a perfect sled hill, access to winter snow shoe trails and summer hikes.

This home is designed for luxury family entertaining. A beautiful sunny living and dining area upstairs includes a large deck that shows gorgeous forest views with Lake Tahoe peeking through the trees. The backyard is landscaped into a stunning park-like setting. A see through fence provides a way to coral the kids without obstructing the forest views.

The kids will think they have their own place, as the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom are adjacent to a large family room equipped with a separate entertainment center.

Located 1 mile from the shoreline. Located 3 miles from Homewood Ski Resort, 30 minutes from Alpine and Squaw Ski resorts. 45 minutes to North shore. 45 minutes to South shore. 5 minutes to Meeks Bay. 10 miles to Tahoe City with many fine restaurants along the way. Boat launches nearby. In the summer months plenty of street parking allows for an RV or boat.

About Laura D

Growing up in the Bay Area we both spent our childhood vacationing at Lake Tahoe and have dreamed of owning our own vacation home. The summer and winter activities are loved by the entire family.

Laura D purchased this house in 2009

Why Laura D chose Tahoma

The West Shore has always been a favorite with its quiet, laid back atmosphere. It provided easy access to many locations and activities.

What makes this house unique

This property is our quiet escape from our Bay Area lives. Adjacent to the forest you will feel as if you are living at the tops of the trees.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We absolutely LOVED your place. We live in the mountains ourselves and felt very comfortable in your beautiful home. You guys did a fantastic job with everything, furniture, amenities etc. It is so private being at the end of the road which makes it great for kids, and the backyard is nice for picnics and sunning. We would rent it again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone.

Great house on a quiet street

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! Great house for our large family, kids bunk room and desperate living area downstairs is perfect. Fenced in backyard for kids to play and dead end street for bike riding and playing makes it a great house for kids. The house has been recently painted and updated, pictures do not do it justice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful well-maintained property and perfect for our two small families of three each!

  • 5 of 5

First, the owners are super nice and very attentive. The property is lovely, well-maintained and a terrific place for everyone to hang out together comfortably or find their own slice of privacy. All the comforts of home - comfy beds/linens and furniture, plenty of cooking & serving ware, lovely manicured garden surrounded by natural beauty and from the spacious upstairs deck, a peek at the lake! Wifi, barbecue... everything!! Close to hiking, biking, skiing, beaches, river, and all that West & Northshore have to offer in terms of shopping & dining - great small nearby grocery markets too. We can hardly wait to come back! ❤️

This is our third visit to this home. We have so much fun relaxing in the wonderful house and sledding with the kids just out the back door. Plenty of room for the whole family. Will visit again.

A perfect stay for our family

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect place for our family get away. The house was beautiful with a great layout, nice amenities. It was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed cooking meals together in the kitchen and loved sharing them at the large table. It was a very comfortable stay with lots of room. We were especially impressed with the backyard. The fenced area was perfect for our kids and we didn't have to worry about them. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends!

Great house for a group ski trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 3 families (5 adults, 5 kids) had a wonderful experience at Laura's house. Everything you need to enjoy your time in Tahoe is provided, and you have easy access to Homewood or the other resorts if your prefer. The house is comfortable and has plenty of space for everyone, including a great dinning room table for that big dinner you cook up after a day of skiing.

Laura was very easy to work with and flexible when our plans changed. We are definitely planning on renting this house again!
