About Mary Falcon
To briefly escape the hubbub of New York in 2002, I spent two weeks with my best cousin in Vermont. For months after I returned to NY I dreamed of living in Vermont. A year later, thanks to the Internet, I was able to make my dream come true. I bought the property right next door to my cousins place and moved to Vermont for good. A 25-year veteran of the higher education publishing industry, I no longer have to live where the company I work for is located. I telecommute.
Mary Falcon purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Mary Falcon chose Granville
My brother liked to come to Vermont in the summer to escape the Florida heat, but he is deathly allergic to dogs and cats and since my cousin and I both have pets, he had to stay in hotels. So in 2008 I built a guest cottage for him on my property. He uses it for a week in summer and a week in winter and the rest of the time (to help pay for it) I am renting it to vacationers.
What makes this Cottage unique
I love participating in the small town social life of Granville. But what I love most about my new life here is that I can work and vacation in the same place. In the summer I can swim twice a day if I want to, work in my vegetable and flower gardens, go for long walks, hang out with my cousin and her horses, and still put in a respectable day’s work at the computer. I work longer hours in the winter, but still get plenty of exercise walking, show shoeing, and snow shoveling. My son and his family love it here in summer, but even more in winter as they are avid skiers. So I always seem to have family visits on the horizon.

Coziest cottage in VT!
We enjoyed everything about this place: its location, beautiful surroundings, the zip-line, the pond covered with snow, the nearby beaver ponds, the fireplaces, the den, and Mary! Everything was great. Thank you, Mary, for a wonderful week. We hope to come back in the summer.
Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location
We had a great time staying at the cottage. It is located in a beautiful area of Vermont and easily accessible to many great day trips. The cottage was very comfortable and our two kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft, the zip line, hammock, cooking fire, and playing ball down by the lovely lake. We were able to prepare our meals with the well appointed kitchen and had a really relaxing stay. We hope to return again when we can swim in the lake. Thank you Mary for providing such a welcoming location.
Beautiful veiws, very cozy,
We had a great stay was me my husband and 3 kids. House was beautiful with plenty of room. We had fun hiking, swimming, and the girls love the kayaks and zip line. The views were outstanding. We enjoyed the falls were my kids went swimming and jumped off the rocks. And they loved playing with and swimming with Mary's very friendly dog. Had a lot of outdoor stuff to do with kids. And enjoyed having the company of mary. And she made sure we had everything we need for a great stay. Thank you.
Quiet and Peaceful!
We had a wonderful stay at Falcon Cottage. Mary was a wonderful host. We loved cooking over a campfire each night. This was a quiet and peaceful place, close to nature, which we loved! Centrally located to visit lots of different areas in Vermont!
Adorable cottage and beautiful grounds
The college is adorable and the property is beautiful. Mary is very welcoming and we had a good time just relaxing and enjoying the amenities.
Definitely one of our best vacations ever.
Located in the heart of the Green Mountains, close to three major ski areas (Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Middlebury Snow Bowl), picturesque villages and towns, great restaurants, antique shops, crafts shops, farmer's markets, horseback-riding, golf courses, and the many tourist attractions of the Mad River Valley.
