About Jim Young
This is a recent picture of me and my lovely wife Valerie, looking out the back door of the condo. We love Wintegreen and cherish our time here. I have pictures on the wall of me skiing up there since it opened in 1975. Hope you decide to come up to our beautiful mountain. Please be sure and include your phone number in your request for booking so I may talk to you in person. I am a real estate investor and Class A Contractor. I am also a licensed Commerial Pilot and Flight Instuctor.
Jim Young purchased this Condo in 1978
Why Jim Young chose Nellysford
I purchased the condo new in 1978 and have enjoyed many years of great skiing and golf and tennis. It is a joy to rent it out to old and new friends who enjoy the wonderful resort at Wintergreen. Zoom in on the map and see how close we are to the slopes. Many folks come back year after year and we know we are doing the right things to make this happen. I always call you right after arrival and make sure everything is O.K. My next door neighbor lives on the mountain all the time, so he is available for any problems you might encounter. We have had many couples celebrate their honeymoon and anniversaries. Many come back year after year.
What makes this Condo unique
It is a very nice atmosphere and easy to relax. Condo is near the slopes and other amenities. Two minute walk to the top of Diamond Hill high speed lift. Three minute drive to Eagles Swoop intermediate lift. Plenty of free parking is available. Free WI-FI and free HBO, Cinemax, Showtime cable TV. Golfing, Wintergarden Spa, Tennis, Children's Programs available through Wintergeen Resort. Call them for prices and details. New King size mattress. New comfortable sleep sofa. New recliner with heat and vibrations. Perfect place for a nice nap. Two free swimming pools in the summer.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Rainy weekend but had everything we needed
Long weekend getaway
Jim was extremely responsive and very accommodating. The space was clean and enough space for us. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Nice place close to the main lodge and worked out great for us!
Very good value for just what we needed- a small neat condo located in a very nice area. So much beauty to see all around and lots of breweries and history in the area. Being able to walk to a very nice restaurant was a big bonus.
Everything we needed plus some
We have stayed in 3 different condos at Wintergreen. They were all similar (floorplans, age, accessibility), but also unique in what they offered. We also stayed in off season, so it was extremely quiet!
WHAT WE ESPECIALLY LIKED:
-Everything here was clean and there was plenty of everything: extra towels, blankets; extra kitchen condiments.
-Everything worked well and as it should.
-Instructions for checking in/out were very clear.
-Loved having a W/D (bring your own detergent, etc.)
-Big screen TV, cable and internet networks, and wi-fi
-Super comfy vibrating recliner (although I did not get to experience it personally, since hubby hogged it!)
-Fireplace with free firewood in front of each building
-Printer available (bring your own laptop); didn't use it, but instructions are posted.
-King bed -- very comfortable
-Rental price, including fees, was extremely reasonable. Great value.
-If you have any difficulty with mobility, there are quite a few stairs down to the condo...some fairly steep. There are handrails, however. (It seemed that the odd numbers were downstairs units, but even the "upstairs" units have some stairs. If you have any concerns, ask questions.)
-If you are not familiar with internet TV, you may have a learning curve. However, owner is just a phone call away.
-Furnishings are a little Spartan (which we don't mind -- we often use military lodging, so clean and practical fits us). Keep in mind that most guests come here for the outside décor, not a Southern Living photo shoot; we were quite comfortable.
Bottom line: Spend the day exploring, skiing, hiking, enjoying the beautiful mountains and then come back to relax by the fire in the vibrating recliner while watching the big screen TV. Have a cup of hot chocolate before retiring to that very comfortable king sized bed! And then use the $$ you saved to get a bite at the local café.
Nice and quaint home.
