About Peter and Diane

Chocolate Moose Lodge is our home away from home. We were introduced to the Blowing Rock area a few years ago and decided we needed to own a piece of heaven for ourselves. Since we are a career family we knew we needed to share the beauty and magic of Chocolate Moose Lodge. A home this beautiful and peaceful should be enjoyed everyday of the year! Our families wish is that you to capture the beauty, peacefulness and magic that Chocolate Moose Lodge has given us.

Peter and Diane purchased this house in 2012

Why Peter and Diane chose Blue Ridge Mountains

The beauty of these mountains and the area cannot be duplicated. Entertainment, hiking, dining and shopping at a 'relaxed pace' is something we look forward to after the hecticness of every day life. We wanted a home that was in close proximity to our main home, so we can properly take care of the maintenance and care of our homes.

What makes this house unique

Long peaceful walks or marked hiking trails are right out the front door. When you return enjoy a relaxing conversation around the fire pit while making yummy smores! If you want more activities sking at Appalachian Ski Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain are ten minutes away. In the summer months you can laze down a river upon an inner tub. Hawksnest provides the longest zip line and the largest snow tubing park on the East Coast. Chocolate Moose Lodge is conveniently located off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, adjacent to the Pisgah National Forest Between Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain, five minutes from Main Street Blwoing Rock, Moses Cone Estate and West Glow Spa. Julian Price Park and Lake are two miles from your front door, whether you want to picinic, fish or just rent a boat. If you wish to stay in enjoy a smart T.V. surround sound, or melt your stress away in a salt water hot tub. A regulation pool table will allow you to hone your skills or just have fun with family and friends.

Great Time! Great Place! Better Owners!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our time at The Chocolate Moose. The house was simply IMMACULATE! I have stayed in many of the proximal properties, and this was the cleanest! Thank you Diane and Peter!

Wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful location and the home is in a great neighborhood. The owners have it nicely decorated and it was perfect for a mountain get away. I would book it again. Diane the owner who I was in contact with was wonderful to work with.

Unbeatable location, Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay in this lovely home located minutes from multiple Blue Ridge Parkway hiking spots, and an easy 10 minute drive to the heart of Blowing Rock. Really enjoyed the kitchen which has everything needed for cooking. Hot tub is sparkling clean and great after a day of hiking.

Owner's Response: We are so glad your return to our home did not disappoint. Our hope is every stay is better than the last. We couldn't agree more about the location of the lodge...it is the best of both worlds, you get the feel of being in the mountains yet you are just minutes from downtown Blowing Rock, to go shopping, or have a meal at a unique restaurant, and you get to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway and have beautiful scenery on your way to or from the lodge. Thank you for your return visit...hope there will be more! Sincerely, Diane, Pete, and of course Bob the Moose.

Amazing Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was a great weekend get away. We enjoyed our stay so much and it felt like a home away from home. Hot tube was a extra bonus that we enjoyed after a long day skiing.

Mountain paradise

  • 5 of 5

I booked with Diane and Peter to celebrate my fiancé's 30th birthday with our best friends. This house was amazing, the pictures don't do it justice! We walked in and entered instant relaxation. Everything you could need for a weekend trip is right here. If you're wanting to head into downtown for dinner, shopping etc. it's a short, scenic drive- perfect for our purposes! This weekend has been one of our best memories to date!

Owner's Response: Katherine, We are so honored to be chosen as the place to celebrate your fiance's 30th birthday. And we are thrilled you found our home comfortable and relaxing...we do too! We want to thank you for your kind words on the lodge, I don't think the pictures do the lodge justice either, but hopefully give a really good idea of the lodge set up. Hope we can be the go to place to celebrate your future milestones! Warmly, Diane, Pete and of course Bob the Moose.

FABULOUS FAMILY MEMORIES

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the Chocolate Moose Lodge. The accomodations far exceeded our expectations. The home was beautifully decorated and perfectly equipted, from blankets to cozy up by the fire pit, a coffee bean grinder for early mornings and a wine opener to enjoy wine by the fire at night.

The home is situated on the Blue Ridge Parkway which left us so many great options for excursions during the day. We took advantage of being so close to Hebron Falls and had a fabulous hike and to appease our adventurous side, we spent one day ziplining. I can't say enough great things about this home. It was so nice to get away and have such lovely accomodations.

We highly recommend the Chocolate Moose Lodge.
