About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Our Mountain Getaway is a charming one-level 2 bedroom/2 bath cottage with breath taking views day and night. It is in the heart of The Great Smoky Mountains, Maggie Valley, NC with easy access and less than one mile off of Highway 19 (Soco Rd).

Enjoy the fantastic panoramic mountain views while sitting in one of the rocking chairs or swinging on the swing on the deck. Mountain Views are what Our Mountain Getaway is all about! Both bedrooms and the living room have large sliding glass doors to enjoy the spectacular mountain views. Maggie Valley stands above all the places that boast a Smoky Mountains vacation. The only place actually surrounded by mountain ranges in all directions. The higher elevations mean cooler temperatures and more spectacular views. Elevation is 3500 feet at Our Mountain Getaway.

Our Mountain Getaway, as indicated above is all one level, no steps. The Master Bath has a walk in shower and the Second Bath is a shower bath combo. The Living Area has two reclining love seats to sit back and enjoy the great mountain views after a long day of shopping and sightseeing.

In the summer and fall seasons you can enjoy listening to country bands and bluegrass music. The Maggie Valley Festival Grounds are only one mile from Our Mountain Getaway. A complete listing of Festivals coming to Maggie Valley can be found on The Maggie Valley Website. You will also find great shopping, restaurants and all types of evening entertainment.

Dear Tammy,

The best vacation every!! Beautiful view, home, just everything. I think one thing made the difference was I was able to bring my dogs. They enjoyed the "getaway" as much as we did. We want to come again next year. Thanks so much, Ray

Little piece of heaven

Fell in love the minute we walked into the house and looked to the west at the mountains. The house is charming, it is perfect in every way. We spent almost every evening on the deck, just relaxing while the "girls" ran back and forth on the deck. It is close to shopping, restaurants, etc, we would love to re book!

Exactly as promised!

We spent about 10 days at Our Mountain Getaway in August 2016. It was perfect and exactly as advertised. The house was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything necessary for our stay. We felt right at home and the view was fabulous. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends looking for a nice getaway in proximity to both Asheville and Smoky Mountain NP.

The K's

We spent the month of June 2014 at this property, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in Maggie Valley before on several occasions, and this was one of the best rentals ever. The property was exactly as advertised, very comfortable, well furnished, with everything provided, including initial supplies such as coffee. The owner was most helpful when the WiFi modem had a problem, and overnighted a new modem replacement. All the Maggie Valley restaurants and other attractions were just minutes away. We hope to return in the near future, and will recommend it to our friends. The driveway down to the property was a little daunting, but only for the first time, just took a little getting used to!! Perfect for a small family

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous time at Our Mountain Getaway! Close to everything that we wanted to see (we highly recommend the Eco-Tour!) and do, but cozy and homey enough that on the few days that we weren't on the go we were comfortable and lazy. The view is lovely! Best of all, we were able to bring our dog, who had a marvelous time as well! This home was perfect for a Mom, 2 pre-teens, and a large dog. Thanks, Tammy, for making it available to us. (Arrival date is wrong...program error)

One word of caution: arrive during the day, as the driveway is really steep, even for mountain standards. Tackling it for the first time at night might be a bit hairy.

We spent the week of the 4th (no extra charge) and found this to be the best stocked place we have ever stayed. U didn't have to worry about running out of the little things (dish soap, trashbags, papertowels, toilet paper, even supplied washing powders and bleach), even supplied hair dryers, grills etc.. We will most definitely be back. The view was awesome, fireworks were great!!!! Most relaxing vacation I believe we have ever had. Considering it was the 4th, there still wasn't a whole lot of traffic. We went to Byrson City and rode the train, it was great. Thank you Tammy, we really enjoyed ourselves, and will be back. Gwen

Another great stay at Our Mountain Getaway!

  • 3 of 5

Our Mountain Getaway is a very comfortable rental and absolutely love the view!! It's convenient to the 'mom & pop' restaurants on Soco Rd as well as lots of 'day trips' to sight-see! The rantal unit has everything we've needed and then some!! And I think we have finally gotten use to the steep driveway too!! haha Kind of scary arriving after dark on our first visit!!

Tammy is great to work with, always helpful and a joy to interact with!! We have been vacationing in Maggie Valley off and on for almost 10 years and have returned to Our Mountain Getaway 4 different years. We hope to return for years to come!!!

Thanks again, Tammy, for sharing your Getaway!!
