We look forward to your visit with us!
This is a lovely one-bedroom, one bath cottage located on a small farm about 2 miles from the Sonoma Plaza. The cottage is decorated beautifully and has a large fully-stocked kitchen. The wrap-around deck contains a propane and charcoal grille. Clusters of grapes can be picked from the deck itself. Nearby is the family pool area next to a large ranch house where the parents of the owner reside when they come out for the weekend from San Francisco. The pool area is available for cottage guests and is marvelous.
The awesome hostess, Nina, had informed us before our arrival of the wine festival being held in downtown Sonoma on that weekend. The festival was fantastic, with wine tastings, live music and lots of food. While there, my friend was describing our cottage in glowing terms to a group of locals she had just met. Coincidentally, she had just met Nina's parents. After the festival, Pete showed us around the property, gave us some fresh vegetables and a couple bottles of his wine.
The location is very accessible to both Sonoma and Napa Valleys. One day we drove up the Sonoma Valley to Geyserville and then south to Napa stopping at a few wineries and exploring the towns. Calistoga is worth seeing. All in all, the accommodations, the hostess and her family and the Sonoma community were wonderful.
Such a treat every time we drove onto the property. Vines laden with grapes next to the deck and a garden with ripening vegetables. We spent so much time enjoying the area, we did not spend enough time at the cottage. It was perfectly comfortable with everything needed. We prepared our breakfast, picked up picnic lunches in Sonoma and explored the wineries, parks, gardens all within 30 miles. Three days were not enough time but we had plans to spend 5 days in San Francisco. Best vacation in many years.
We really appreciated this lovely property! It's very quaint, clean, and well-appointed. It's a very nice touch to have a pool and a hot tub and be so close to downtown yet be out of the hubbub of downtown. Very convenient location, excellent price, and very easy to work with.
what an amazing place this is. We went the last weekend in June to celebrate my birthday. After a long traffic filled drive from San Francisco due to the NASCAR event we couldn't believe when we passed through the front gate. It exceeded every expectation. Gorgeous property surrounded by their own vines. Awesome pool, I even jumped on the trampoline. The 1 bedroom comes with your own private jacuzzi out on the deck which was so nice to come home to after long days of wine tasting. We spent the night sitting out on the deck looking at the stars. We were so pleased to come home our 2nd day to see the barn doors open. We peaked inside and were greeted by Nina's dad. He let us taste their family wine that is grown right on the property. Nina and her family are all so welcoming. We loved their dog (they do not live on site, were just visiting) and her daughter even passed by and made sure we knew we could use the pool. The inside of the cottage had everything we needed. We BBQ'd one of the nights and always cooked breakfast. The cottage has air conditioning, which helped in cooling down the house at the end of the day. The property is extremely peaceful and was perfectly central to all of the wineries we visited. Less than 5 minutes to the square. I would recommend this cottage to anyone and we will definitely be staying there on return trips to the area.
-Communication with the owner to arrange payment was simple and the owner was always quick to respond.
-Going to Sonoma in the off season is great. Do not be afraid to go to Sonoma just because it might be rainy or because they already picked the grapes. Sonoma is still beautiful and the trade-off for smaller crowds was well worth it.
-All amenities described were accurate. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Plenty of towels, napkins, bedding, etc. All the necessities were provided as described
-Property is fenced in and secure
-Great location, close to everything with a car. Short drive to Sonoma Square. Walkable if you don't mind a long walk
-Hot tub was awesome and worked great (one of the main reasons we booked)
-Property is very clean and well maintained
We would absolutely book the property again and look forward to visiting Sonoma again.
We originally chose this spot for a weekend getaway because of it's proximity to all the things that make Sonoma Valley so great... vineyards, hiking, galleries, close to Carneros, quick hop to Napa, a mile from the Sonoma Square... its really in a great location. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck, having a glass of wine in the hot tub after a day of wilderness hiking on Sugarloaf Ridge in Kenwood, and the Sonoma restaurants we tried were fantastic. What we didn't expect was how much we would enjoy just being there. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon was so relaxing that we dialed back our agenda just so we could unplug a little and hang out at the cabin. We topped it off by picking up fresh picked vegetables from the W. Watmaugh farm stand on our way out of town. When people say they'd like to have a cabin in the wine country some day... this is what they mean. We really enjoyed our stay!
