Absolutely Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

If you enjoy peace and quiet and lot's of stars at night this place will make you happy. The cabin is very comfortable , cozy and very clean. We arrived late evening after a rain storm and traffic to a wonderful welcome. Lights were on in the cabin the temperature inside was perfect and well it was a nice place to land after a long day of travel. Kevin was very accommodating and always available for questions to be answered as to where to go and how to get there .

Yes, I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. The cabin is much more wonderful and uniquely decorated then the photos shown. Loved the old "Life" Magazines...

Not to far were some local farms . We were able to get fresh organic produce, etc.

The White Mountains , which are very close had some wonderful hiking trails. There were even some trails my 80 year old mother was able to enjoy.

Not too far is the town of Conway/N Conway which had plenty of stores to shop for groceries, etc.

Yes by all means go to this cabin and enjoy!

The perfect getaway! We want one just like it :)

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our trip and stay at the Brookside Cabin was from 12/28/13-1/1/14!!! Our party included myself, my husband, our two boys (3 yrs and 6 months), our yellow lab, and my sister and her husband. The cabin was the PERFECT place for us to spend time as a family. In fact, as soon as we set foot in it, my husband starting talking about building one just like it!

It was so cozy and the decor really added to the atmosphere. It was very clean and everything we needed was provided. The living area was spacious and allowed us to spend time together in a comfortable setting. The 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were great for our family- we really felt at home.

We were lucky enough to get 6 inches of fresh snow on top of the snow that existed so being able to xc ski and snowshoe right out the back door was amazing! Our son thoroughly enjoyed sledding down the hill on the side of the house and our dog was in heaven!!

We did travel into North Conway a couple of times, but spend most of our time at the cabin. We couldn't get enough and didn't want to leave!

We will definitely be coming back in the near future! Thanks, Kevin, for such a wonderful place!!!

Owner's Response: Dear Kara, Thank you for your wonderful review. So happy you and your family liked the cabin and glad we were finally able to accomodate you over the holidays. Also glad the weather cooperated with the beautiful snow that made skiing and snowshoeing fabulous. We still have a lot of icy snow on the ground and we're waiting for another few inches to freshen up conditions! Look forward to your next visit. Best Regards, Kevin and Theresa

Lovely Maine Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a very quiet pleasant stay. Cabin is well-equipped, light, airy and looks right out onto woods with trails you can access easily from behind it. We roamed around picking wild raspberries and blueberries, took some terrific bike rides, swam in Crystal Lake and had a great evening out at Stone Mountain Art Center (live music venue with dinner). Owners are helpful. You can get produce from their farm garden.

Totally AAAA rated! We would definitely stay there again.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family, -- three kids and one dog -- spent a week in the Brookside Cabin last summer and are now planning our visit this summer. The cabin is perfectly designed for a family vacation with a master bedroom on the main floor and two more on the other floor where the boys had their own room and my daughter had hers as well. There is a great deck with beautiful views of the surrounding forests where my husband and I could enjoy morning coffee. The cabin itself was very clean with comfortable mattresses and furnished with an eclectic variety of antiques and nick knacks. I loved reading the old Life and Look magazines. The television reception was not that great but there is good wi-fi reception and there were lots of DVDs for the kids. There is an outdoor fire place where we spent several nights star gazing and, yes, roasting marshmallows. There are numerous hiking trails right outside the back door and the roads were quiet which made for great bicycling. My husband even did some trout fishing in the nearby brook. Overall it is a excellent place for a family vacation and you can bring your dog along to enjoy the fun!

The Respite

  • 4 of 5

The setting and the ambiance of the cabin enabled us to truly relax. The night skies were exquisitely

beautiful.

The kitchen needed a great deal of cleaning before we could truly settle into vacation mode, however. Two trips into Conway for cleaning supplies were necessary. The interior of the oven was so encrusted that meals had to be grilled outside until we successfully cleared away cooked-on food.

Bathrooms were pristine, and the general environment was fine. It was the lack of attention to the kitchen/dining area that presented the challenge.

We would recommend the property, with qualifications...expect to clean up after earlier guests.

It was delightful to have a pet friendly site; our Scottish Terrier loved every minute of this holiday.

The fact that we were within driving distance of Mt. Washington, the Basin, the White Mountains was wonderful.

Owner's Response: Dear Tom and Susan, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of our Brookside Cabin and glad you enjoyed your stay. We were, however, shocked and dismayed over your comments regarding the cleanliness of our kitchen and particulary our range. Past and future guests DID not and WILL not have to clean up after earlier guests as you aledge. We do not charge cleaning fees since we do not trust anyone else to meet our standards of cleanliness. The refrigerator, counters, sink, floor, microwave and range top are all throughouly cleaned and disinfected after EVERY visit and the oven inspected. While our range does not sparkle like new (and what well-used oven does?) it is NEVER left in an encrusted state. With sometimes only 3 - 4 hours between a guest departure and new arrival, there could have been oven residues that escaped our notice. You never mentioned anything to us and wish you had so WE could have addressed your issues. Whatever the case, we regret you had to spend any vacation time cleaning and thank you for bringing any oversights to our attention. We can assure future guests they will not have to do the same. We will be forwarding a check in the amount of $20 to cover any costs incurrred. Kevin and Theresa Early

Serene and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We nestled at this lovely home for a week after our family had been separated on three continents and not been together for 16 months. It was a perfect place to reunite, relax and enjoy the outdoors. We loved the design and whimsy of the cabin (the pictures do not reveal how comfortable and fun the cabin is-- complete with a 1950's bicycle on an overhead shelf). You will love it!
