Thank you for considering North Shore Place for your little get-a-way. Our cottage is a vintage farm house directly across from the old 1 room school house. We provide all your needs for a comfortable stay both in and out doors.
Surrounding sun porches allow you to see Pelee Island from all angles. The cottage is situated on an acre of property with a beautiful view of Lake Erie. When traveling about Pelee Island you will find it provides many opportunities, exploring its natural beauty, birding, peaceful sandy beaches, dining and Pelee Island Winery. We boast some of Lake Erie's best fishing, whether bringing your own boat, renting a charter, or just casting from shore. Hunting on the island consists of a spring turkey hunt, fall duck hunting and of course our famous pheasant hunts are second to none.
Come share in the Island's many treasures. You decide, peace and tranquility, fun and excitement or just a little of both.
Thank you for considering North Shore Place for your vacation rental.
We stay at north shore place for our annual walleye fishing trip. It's absolutely perfect! Clean very roomy with a big yard for the kids to play. I highly recommend north shore place.
Our family of 6 had a wonderful time on Pelee Island, and staying at the North Shore Place cottage. The island is a peaceful and beautiful place to get away from your normal busy routine. We explored the island thoroughly, from the lighthouse to the Alvar, from the East Shore beach to the West Dock, from the North Shore to Fish Point. The cottage, North Shore Place, had plenty of room for a large family, and the 4 kids enjoyed being across from the soccer and basketball facilities available across the road at the Pelee Island School. The swimming at the east shore was better than the west, but the drive along west shore road in the evening was spectacular. All the shops and stores were pleasant, including the bakery, co-op, marina, ice cream (at Scudder's Dock), the WestView Restaurant, the art shop, and especially the bike store. The cottage was clean, though on Pelee you just can't get away from the insects, no matter where on the island you are. The only very small complaint would be that the mattresses weren't the most sleep friendly for people over 6 feet tall. In the end, that was just a small thing, and our stay was completely enjoyable. Having a family of 6, the 2 full baths was very handy. We left a few dish towels behind as a gift to the cottage, as well as a John Grisham novel for future reading enjoyment. Thanks to the owners for clear and accurate guidelines, and for encouraging us to book the ferry well in advance. Thanks for a memorable vacation!
home can easily accomodate 10 people with 3 bedrooms (each has 2-3 bunk beds with one being a standard double in each room) upstairs and one full bath. Kitchen is adequate. Full bath down. Kids can play in yard or across street in the schools playground. close to marina. bakery is 200 yards away for fresh bake goods. Owner is very easy to work with - He always responded to texts/emails within an hour. If you are looking for a laid back place, Peelee Island is it and if you want a fair priced, family type setting, this is it.
We stayed here in August, 2011, with a family of 6 (2 parents and 4 small children). This was ideal for a large family, with lots of sleeping space upstairs and a lot of room for everyone downstairs. The large lawn was great as well----the kids enjoyed the playground equipment, as well as the playground behind the school across the road. We also visited all the beaches on the island---also lots of fun for the kids. Remember to do your shopping on the mainland (there is a large supermarket in Leamington), as there are only limited groceries available at the co-op. Thanks very much for an enjoyable (and quiet) vacation week!
My family and I stayed in this house last July 2009 for a week, and we are staying in the house again this July. The House is perfect for a large group (which we are). There is a ton of parking (we have 4 vans and 3 boats). The lawn is very large. There is an axis on the side of the property that goes to down the lake and it is very nice to sit in a chair there and watch the activity on the waters of the North Side Bay. The house is spacious and super clean. The ground floor is all living space and the upstairs has multiple bedrooms that sleep many people. The bathroom is very modern. The kitchen is large with lots of countertop space and it accomodates our "Big Chill" meals easily. There are glassed in porches on the front and rear of the house. We like the layout a lot. In my opinion the house is located in the best location on the island due to it's close proximity to the wonderful bakery just next door, a nice resturaunt across down the street, the great "Sudder Bar" the other way down the street, and the needed boat ramp also less than a mile away. Biking is a major activity on the island and most of those bikers go by the house, which is fun to watch. I would and do recommend this house to anyone.
