Awesome and Good Location

  • 5 of 5

1st time to Hawaii. Stayed here 9 nights. Met Terri once and spoke to Mike twice. Both seem like really nice folks. Mike seems like he would have some good stories to tell. We hardly spent any time here during the day because we planned things to do every day. Even the days we didn't have something pre-planned we just got in the car and randomly went places and then came back in the evening, showered, and then went to bed. However this location would also be a perfect place to relax away the day. Mike/Terri did come in and open the windows in the afternoon and change linens/towels while we were gone. They provided some starter foods like cereal, juice, bread and other things which was very nice because we ate mostly cereal for breakfast in preparation for eating all kinds of other foods for lunch & dinner.

1st thing you notice is the view to Pearl Harbor and surrounding area is quite picturesque. They have a beautifully landscaped yard and a nice pool which we did use once. Accommodations were excellent and the provided food stuffs lasted us all week as we mainly ate breakfast in the room and then ate out the rest of the time. The neighborhood is very quiet and the night view is pretty good of the harbor.

This place is about as centrally located as you can get in my opinion, but you will need to have your own transportation. Honolulu is close by, North Shore isn't too far and the scenic drive on H3 to the east side of the island is close by as well. Perfect place to stay if your plan is to go all over the island. Aiea also has a lot of good places to eat nearby. Ramen, Poke, Korean, Japanese, Seafood, etc.. all within a couple of miles.

Overall, you can't really beat the price & location in my opinion. If you want to be right on the beach then by all means blow your money that way but if being on the beach is not a requirement I would stay here. Well, for couples mostly. There's also a futon that would sleep another but I feel that this is a place for couples.

We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend Rainbow Inn! We hope to return soon for another stay.

Just perfect for us!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the first two nights on the island down in Waikiki and were more than happy to escape to this quiet setting. The owners were gracious and welcoming. They provided the items they had indicated they would plus many extras!! I found it very helpful. Then one evening Terri brought us a wonderful surprise of a local delicacy for breakfast the next morning. Scrumptious. Unfortunately I have forgotten the name but not the wonderful taste! The unit is very clean. Many extras were provided throughout including the use of ice chests, beach chairs, beach towels, and the wonderful raft for floating in their pool. I used the pool every afternoon/evening that we were there except for one. It was so relaxing to come back after a day of hiking or sightseeing to the private pool. The view is fantastic as well. We were so happy that we choose this as our main place to stay while on Oahu. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants quiet rather than hectic.

Our 10th year of staying here

  • 5 of 5

Terri and Mike are the best hosts ever. The inn is amazing, private and quiet, but with a stunning view and wonderful pool. Need a car, but can zip over Oahu from any direction within minutes...........away from the screaming tourists and ticky tacky stuff

Perfect Spot for couple

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed here for five days. Mike and Terri were great hosts and the location was perfect with a great view. The suite was well equiped and there were a lot of food items left for us to more than get us started. The pool was perfect and so close to the suite that you literally walk out three steps and dove in. The house is easy to find and close to most of the main tourist attractions for easy access. Thanks for the great stay. We will definitely book again if we are back in Oahu.
