Amy Griffin purchased this farmhouse in 1990
Incredible mountain and valley views from many windows and huge wrap-around deck! Bright country kitchen, wide-plank heated wood floors, steam shower, luxurious linens. Fruit trees, berries, herb gardens, mountain meadows, rushing stream, all right on property. Camp out under the stars, hike, go for a sled ride, without ever leaving your own private 60 acre estate!
The house was perfect for a group of nine looking for cozy, quiet accommodation for a wedding nearby. We played board games late into the night after we arrived and loved exploring the grounds in the morning. The kitchen had everything we needed, and all of the bedrooms were clean and comfortable.
My wife and I rented this lovely farmhouse as a place for family members to gather upon the occasion of my son's wedding. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable, with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. We especially enjoyed the quaint character of the house (wide plank floors, knick-knacks that the family treasured, an impressive library of interesting and uncommon books). Since it snowed one day, much to our surprise, I can also say that the house was both warm and cozy. I can only say "Thanks" to Amy for sharing her lovely home with us.
I rented this charming farmhouse for a family get together in Roxbury. I could not decide between this property and another. The exchanges I had by email with Amy, the owner just enthused such warmth, and desire to make our visit the best possible. On the other hand, the other propery exchanges were cold and non welcoming. I am so pleased I went with my gut and chose this beautiful farmhouse.
The moment we walked in we all felt this was our home away from home. This was not just a property to rent, it was a home that had been well taken care of and loved. You couldn't help but feel the warmth and love.
No lack of kitchen or bedding supplies.
There was no WiFi and spotty cell phone service so we enjoyed talking to each other, and taking walks on the premises. Also, there were many board games we could have played if time had permitted.
We had a very difficult time leaving, even the 3 yr. old cried when we left. She did not want to leave all the books and stuffed animals behind.
Thank You Amy for sharing your home with us.
I rented this house for my son's wedding. We loved it. Lots of space to spread out. Everything you would need in a kitchen. Beautiful deck and yard. And Amy was a pleasure to work with. Even calling on our arrival to make sure everything was ok. Be aware cell phone service is spotty in Roxbury and there is no internet at the house so listen to Amy's advice and give out the house phone number!
The house is wonderful. Comfortable, very clean, and a great layout for our party of 7 (including two young children) and a dog. Everyone had space when they needed but we were also able to easily gather together to cook, eat or complete a jigsaw puzzle. The grounds and views are great, though we didn't explore much as we went skiing every day. Plattekill is 10 mins away and Belleayre is about 20 mins away. The owner was easy to work with during the reservation process and made herself available for any questions/issues during the stay. But we didn't have any - everything was in perfect order. We would definitely rent it again.
I rented this farmhouse for a group of friends attending a wedding at Stone Tavern Farm and it worked out wonderfully! There was plenty of space in the house and surrounding property for us to all be there comfortably together and not crowd each other. And we were so close to the venue and to town to grab a quick coffee as well as great hikes in the Catskills. Although with all of the wedding events, we didn't have much/enough time at the house, we did get to see lots of bunnies in the field and shooting star!
WE ARE RIGHT IN ROXBURY! Within 5 miles of wedding venues (Roxbury Barn, W. Settlement Inn, Stone Tavern, Plattekill) NOT 40 miles away from weddings!
