Affordable Gem - Best View - Fripp Island Guest House

Bedrooms Studio
Space 600 sq. ft.
Property type bungalow
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

The GUEST HOUSE has the feel of an efficiency with a bedroom/living area and kitchenette combined in a one-room open plan. The separate bathroom/shower is newly updated. Newly redecorated as well, the guest house is light and airy with a nautical feel about it. The large deck attached contributes to a feeling of spaciousness. All furniture within the guest house is new, comfortable and casual. It includes a love seat, coffee table, end table and lamp in the living room, a queen size bed with two end tables and two lamps for reading, and a large dresser in the sleeping area. Sink, stove, oven, a small refrigerator with pots, pans, dishes and eating utensils in the kitchenette are available to make a quick breakfast or a full dinner served in the living area or on the deck.

Golf Cart - If you have one, bring it! Golf cars are driven anywhere and everywhere on the island. A great way to get around to the beaches, shopping areas, Forest Gump filming sites, docks, restaurants and more.

The property sits on a peninsula which extends into Fripp Island's most expansive marsh. The marsh basin fills with tidal waters and can appear like a lake right outside the home. Dolphins can be seen from the house especially during high tide. Plan to experience absolute peace and solitude with only the sounds of osprey and herons. The view offered is 180 degrees with amazing vistas of wildlife, the marina and Old House Creek. With western exposure the vistas (and sunsets)are beyond description.

A visit to the GUEST HOUSE will be memorable long after leaving Fripp Island.

The Guest House is perfect for two people. We have had honeymooners and welcomed others on their anniversary. It's a romantic getaway for two or it offers quiet solitude for a single guest looking for a peaceful time-out. What we love most about the Guest House location ... morning walks, viewing and hearing birds day and night, the crabbing dock nearby, sitting on the patio and viewing a starlit evening and waking to a 180 degree panoramic view of the marsh. The Guest House, itself, is newly remodeled. It has a nautical theme and is fresh, clean and spacious for two people. All your linens and bedding are supplied as well everything you'd need in a kitchen. Economically, it is the best place you will find on the island for two people. We'd love to have you visit!

Even more charming in person than it is in the photos

  • 5 of 5

We were on Fripp for a weekend, visiting family. Mom had a full house, so we had to seek out our own lodging. So happy to have found this place. It was perfectly cozy and clean, and the view of the ocean marsh was breathtaking. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Rustic charm and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

I have heard the sound of the tide rising in the salt marsh. the gentle popping of the air bubbles in the crab holes sounds a bit like a gentle rain. I could sit on that deck for hours watching the birds and wildlife. Combining that sitting with walks on the beach kept us on the island more than we had planned.

Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The property is exactly as described. Joan called to be sure I had everything I needed upon arrival. The room is lovely, with a well-stocked kitchen and ample room to spread out. Situated at the end of a culdesac, the little guest house opens up to a breathtaking view of a salt water marsh. The wild marsh grasses appear to change color with each passing hour, glowing warmly at sunrise and sunset. The stars sparkle overhead at night, with only an occasional bird call punctuating the silence. I took memorable runs on the beautiful beach in the mornings, and the numerous local deer were a wonderful surprise addition to the abundant wildlife of the island. I couldn't have asked for a quieter oasis in which to relax and unwind. I highly recommend the property for anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation.

A Great Thanksgiving Holiday Spent Here

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here during Thanksgiving, 2016. We had never experienced a one-room-open-plan before but were very pleased with this guest house. In my opinion the room was large enough for us with everything conveniently located without feeling cramped. We enjoyed the coziness and simplicity of it all. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated with a nautical theme. The view (either from inside looking out through the windows or sitting on the deck) was fantastic.

We were fortunate to meet the gracious owners, Joan and Terry, and they were very friendly, accommodating, attentive and courteous. Even though they were obviously busy with family celebrating Thanksgiving, they took the time to make sure all our needs were met.

This guest house is only attached to the main house by a breezeway which lends itself to a quiet and private setting. The only windows you have in the guest house lookout over the deck and the marsh with beautiful sunsets in the evenings. For our stay, we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Great Weekend in God's Country

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed at the Guest House and found it perfect--from the views to the wildlife to Ms. Joan who was wonderful to work with. Lots to do on the island and in the Beaufort area . Yes, I would bring bug spray or citronella for the deck up until the first frost, but that is for the Lowcountry in general--a very small price to pay.
