About the property

House, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

The GUEST HOUSE has the feel of an efficiency with a bedroom/living area and kitchenette combined in a one-room open plan. The separate bathroom/shower is newly updated. Newly redecorated as well, the guest house is light and airy with a nautical feel about it. The large deck attached contributes to a feeling of spaciousness. All furniture within the guest house is new, comfortable and casual. It includes a love seat, coffee table, end table and lamp in the living room, a queen size bed with two end tables and two lamps for reading, and a large dresser in the sleeping area. Sink, stove, oven, a small refrigerator with pots, pans, dishes and eating utensils in the kitchenette are available to make a quick breakfast or a full dinner served in the living area or on the deck.

Golf Cart - If you have one, bring it! Golf cars are driven anywhere and everywhere on the island. A great way to get around to the beaches, shopping areas, Forest Gump filming sites, docks, restaurants and more.

The property sits on a peninsula which extends into Fripp Island's most expansive marsh. The marsh basin fills with tidal waters and can appear like a lake right outside the home. Dolphins can be seen from the house especially during high tide. Plan to experience absolute peace and solitude with only the sounds of osprey and herons. The view offered is 180 degrees with amazing vistas of wildlife, the marina and Old House Creek. With western exposure the vistas (and sunsets)are beyond description.

A visit to the GUEST HOUSE will be memorable long after leaving Fripp Island.

About J. Teppen

My husband and I are international school educators and have lived overseas for the past 20 years. We are now living in Minnesota and hope to retire to Fripp at some point. Until then we have decided to open our Guest House to Fripp visitors. Thank you, in advance, for caring for our home.

J. Teppen purchased this bungalow in 1998

Why J. Teppen chose Low Country & Resort Islands

Fripp Island is an idyllic place to live or vacation. Fripp offers beautiful seashore and vast low country marshes and upscale realty with an environmental preservation ethic. Fripp Island exists in a part of the country that has low country charm and history. It provides quietude, peace and beauty to its visitors.

What makes this bungalow unique

Reasonably priced rent compared to all other properties on Fripp Island, Atlantic Ocean 3-mile beach, Audubon trails, crabbing docks, bird watching, dolphin viewing, Hunting Island State Park nearby. Relaxing and serene getaway.

Great Weekend in God's Country

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed at the Guest House and found it perfect--from the views to the wildlife to Ms. Joan who was wonderful to work with. Lots to do on the island and in the Beaufort area . Yes, I would bring bug spray or citronella for the deck up until the first frost, but that is for the Lowcountry in general--a very small price to pay.

This little beach bungalow was just perfect!! Our sunsets were incredible!! My husband and I could not have asked for a better get away!! The marsh life was exciting and coffee on the deck was a perfect way to start the day!! Only advice is BRING BUG SPRAY...LOL, you are sitting on the marshland basically. We really enjoyed our stay...no complaints, only wonderful memories!!

Great Place to Stay on Fripp Island!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay at the guesthouse! Such a relaxing few days. The deck was a great place to view the marsh life, birds, and even deer that came by! Joan and Terry were great to work with, and the very cute guest house provided everything that we needed. If you go to Fripp, make sure and stop by Hunting Island Park. it is beautiful! I would definitely recommend the little guesthouse for a stay on Fripp!!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This is my second stay at this little piece of heaven. Everything is quaint and perfect for a couple to stay for a relaxing getaway. One week is not enough time and I'm already planning my next visit. Come here at your own risk, you'll never want to leave!

A gem of a rental on Fripp Island

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in the Guest House for 4 nights and loved it. It's a perfect little place for a single person or couple. The space is small but well-designed, inviting and cozy! We especially loved sitting out on the deck in the mornings with the amazing view of the marsh. The Guest House is quiet and secluded, making it perfect if you want to escape the crowds that are elsewhere on Fripp during the busy summer months.

Joan was very responsive when I inquired about booking and provided detailed instructions regarding check-in. We had trouble with the internet connection upon arrival and Joan and Terry very responsive (Terry even called me!) to help get it resolved.

I definitely recommend the Guest House!

My experience at Fripp

  • 5 of 5

This house has a beautiful view of the marsh from the deck - we loved watching the sunset each evening from the deck. Our first day we watched a raccoon swim a little ways into the marsh and hunt in the mud for food. The location is secluded and peaceful - lots of wildlife and a great place to de-stress . We were also only a short walk away from a crabbing dock. My mom and niece learned how to crab during our stay. If you enjoy longer walks, there is an Audubon bird trail that takes you across the marsh. The beach can be uncrowded depending on which access point you enter. On the third day of our stay, we entered at access point 31 and we were the only ones on that stretch of beach - it felt like we had our own private beach. You will want to call at least 3 months ahead of time to a local business to secure a golf cart - we discovered this is almost a must on Fripp. Unless you have a very small car it can be difficult (but not impossible) to find parking to access the beach. The owners are easy to work with, the house was clean and just as described - I would definitely stay at this location again!

Notes:
The Guest House is perfect for two people. We have had honeymooners and welcomed others on their anniversary. It's a romantic getaway for two or it offers quiet solitude for a single guest looking for a peaceful time-out. What we love most about the Guest House location ... morning walks, viewing and hearing birds day and night, the crabbing dock nearby, sitting on the patio and viewing a starlit evening and waking to a 180 degree panoramic view of the marsh. The Guest House, itself, is newly remodeled. It has a nautical theme and is fresh, clean and spacious for two people. All your linens and bedding are supplied as well everything you'd need in a kitchen. Economically, it is the best place you will find on the island for two people. We'd love to have you visit!
