Excellent location!!! Our home is just 20 minute drive to the Yosemite National Park entrance, 5 minute drive to the town of Oakhurst, 15 minute drive toTenaya Lodge, 7 minute drive to Bass Lake. Nelder Grove "Shadow of the Giants" is right up the road from our home, on Road 632. Within Yosemite there are so many "must see" places: Half Dome Village, the historic Majestic Yosemite Hotel, Glacier Point for amazing vista views of Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass for skiing fun in the winter months. Our home is a great launching place for all of your Yosemite & Bass Lake adventures!
You'll love the benefits of a vacation home: instead of everyone being separated in the evening as you would in a hotel, you get to hang out with your friends and/or family in the living room or game room! This is an extra bonus if you have kids, you don't have to cut your evening short just to get them to bed. Once you've stayed here, you'll never want to stay in a hotel again!
Our home is surrounded by a forest of Manzanita trees, Ponderosa Pines and other native trees. Overlooking the back deck is a picturesque view of the beautiful mountain ranges, native trees and wildflowers. There is a seasonal creek with trout for the fisherman in your group that is located about 1/2 mile from the house. Sitting on the deck looking out on the pine trees and mountains in the background is one of our favorite things to do!
Our home is a comfortable 1600 sq ft, with a roomy living area downstairs. The room with the pool table is open to the living room where the TV is with a comfy loveseat, couch (with a pull-out bed) and 2 leather recliners. It's a 3-bedroom, 2 bath home. The master bedroom with a Queen bed is downstairs, with a private bathroom that has a shower, sink, and toilet. The laundry room is also accessed from the master bedroom (HE washer/dryer, with laundry pods for your use). Upstairs is a hall bathroom with a shower over tub, sink and toilet; the other two bedrooms are also upstairs. One bedroom has a Queen bed, and the other bedroom has 2 Full-size beds. There are 2 adult-size folding sleeping mats if needed, and 2 pack 'n plays for parents of little ones, along with extra blankets and sheets.
The kitchen has a glass-top electric stove, dishwasher, and coffee pot. We provide paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, sponges, kitchen towels, and garbage bags. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cookware, etc., you just bring the food! We have spices in the spice cabinet as well. The dining table is set for 4, but there is also a leaf available and 6 folding chairs, as well as 2 strap-on high chairs. We have a folding table that you can use to spread out at meal-times, use as a buffet, or take on the back deck to enjoy your meals surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Our home is fully equipped with everything for your stay: propane BBQ grill; fully stocked kitchen; comfortable beds with nice linens; towels for the house as well as separate ones for the lake; pool table and ping pong table and dart board; lots of fun board games; playing cards; DVDs; a growing book collection; cable TV; PS3 for games, watching DVDs or movie streaming; Super Nintendo; Wi-Fi internet; woodburning stove for those crisp, cold fall and winter nights, washer/dryer, central heat & air, and more.
Enjoy your stay in our lovely home!

About Seth or Regina Nelson
My brother and I, along with our wives, bought this house in 2013 from Dave and Erica Moyer (who took unbelievable care of the house). We both greatly enjoyed staying here, and were excited when the opportunity arose for us to acquire it! There's so much to enjoy in the Oakhurst area: Bass Lake, Hiking, Snow Play, and of course Yosemite! Our families love being outdoors, and this is such a wonderful place to bring our kids to enjoy the great outdoors. Our home is so close to all these amazing destinations, and we're happy to have the opportunity to rent it out so visitors to the area can have the opportunity to "time share" a home without the commitment involved in a regular time share. Our sweet mountain retreat is also a perfect place for Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas gatherings, and we love the fact that others can also share their own family memories at our home during the holidays. Regardless of the season or occasion, you will have a wonderful stay at our home! ~Seth Nelson & Jerod Stewart

Why Seth or Regina Nelson chose Oakhurst
There are many reasons we chose to buy our vacation rental here in Oakhurst. It is centrally located to so much! We are just about 7 minutes away from Bass Lake; just close enough to be convenient, but far enough away from the over-crowded and expensive rental cabins. We're only 20 minutes from the south gate of Yosemite, a main attraction in the area. Our home is located at approximately 3,000 foot elevation and just below the snow line. When there is a snow storm, we will get snow, but it won't always stick to the ground. That means you can come and go as you please and not worry about getting stuck. The main roads (Hwy 41 going towards Tenaya Lodge) will be plowed if snow does stick. All the comforts of home are right there: in a short minute drive you will be at the town of Oakhurst which has Von's, Raley's, RiteAid, Blockbuster, Starbucks, Big 5 sporting goods, a movie cinema, hardware stores, restaurants... pretty much anything you might need! We also love that our neighborhood is full of pine trees and mountain views. The houses in the neighborhood are not right next to each other, making it feel more like a mountain getaway, compared to staying in a neighborhood with houses stacked up right next to you. There are so many places to go out and explore; even without taking a car, you can walk out from our front door and go for a hike in the neighborhood.
What makes this House unique
There are so many places to hike nearby and lots of places to fish and explore. There is the prestigious Sierra Meadows the Country Club in Oakhurst (20 minutes away) as well as the historic Wawona Golf course in Yosemite (40 minutes away). There is kayaking at Bass Lake and Yosemite's Merced River in the summer. We fish at Bass Lake in the Summer and Fall and do lots of hiking & exploring. Nelder Grove, "Shadow of the Giants" is a rare grove of giant Sequoia trees located up the road from our home and has one of the largest Sequoias in the world, 'The Bull Buck Tree'. There are too many places and 'things to do' to list, but just let us know what you are interested in doing, and we are happy to direct you.

Great Hosts and Very Well Kept Property
Regina and Seth are by far the best hosts I have ever had. My wife was not keeping well and Regina went to the extent of sharing near by hospital information (along with timings and ER information) incase we needed to go for a visit. Not just that, their house was so well kept! Ample furniture, very good instructions and well stocked house. I would definitely go back for another visit. Restrooms and bedrooms were very very neat. They also graciously allowed me to add an extra guest in the last minute. Thank you Regina and Seth - for not just setting up the house so well but also checking on us, making sure we are alright and taking all the extra steps to make out stay enjoyable!
Fun, spacious, beautiful home - great for our family!
Had a great time. We had 4 of our teenage kids with us, and this house had plenty of room and plenty of fun things for the kids. The ping pong table, darts, and pool table were all used and kept the kids busy when we weren't at the lake fishing or up north in Yosemite hiking and checking out the beautiful and majestic landscape. The location is great - it was nice having the town nearby to pick up groceries or to get gas, and Bass Lake is so close. I was most impressed by the fantastic communication between the owners and us. I had a couple questions before and during the stay (like "can you recommend any nearby trails or fishing spots?"). Regina responded immediately and went above and beyond with her responses, sending links and even contacting local spots to see if they were open at the time for us. Would certainly stay again. Thank you so much!
Great location and home
We loved our stay during the Christmas week in this home. We were 10 minutes away from Bass Lake and 25 minutes to the border of Yosemite National Park right off of Highway 41. Remember, Yosemite is 1200 square miles of land, so even though you are 25 minutes near the border of Yosemite, you still have to drive another hour to get to the Visitor's center on the very curvy Highway 41.
The home itself suited our family of 8 wonderfully. We loved the pool table and ping pong table in the garage. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. We planned on cooking our own meals, but we were so exhausted from hiking around Yosemite that we ended up eating out in the main strip at Oakhurst. Lot's of American/Mexican places to eat within 15minutes from the house.
In the cold weather, the heater worked very well, all of us felt snug as a bug. No issues with hot water, plumbing, or climate control. Driveway is a little steep and can get icy during the winter months. Fortunately for us the temps never went below freezing so parking on the driveway was not a problem. Very quiet neighborhood.
The backyard porch offers a nice view. Our regret was we never took a group picture on the backyard porch!
Lastly, Regina Nelson was a pleasure to work with. She answered every one of my questions and offered great Yosemite suggestions, trails, maps, and driving directions.
I would highly recommend this place for large parties of 8 to 10 people.
The location was beautiful,
Very big house very nice
Bonus the pool table
Thank you very much
The cabin was very nice homey and comfortable, and Yosemite was breath taking absolutrly out of this world.
Comfortable house with all amenities
Thank you for the wonderful stay at your lovely house. We were very comfortable and felt at home during our stay. Everything needed was provided and the clear and thoughtful instructions posted at many places around the house made it very easy for us to find and use things. The kitchen was a joy to work as it had all the dishes, utensils and accessories. Also we had a great time playing table tennis and billiards. I would strongly recommend your place to anyone visiting Yosemite and around.
