Upgraded one bedroom oasis looking right over the ocean. You will love the unit, you will love the location, walking distance to everywhere in town.

Stroll down Alii Drive and you will find a variety of shops and restaurants. Nearby restaurants include Splashers Grill, The Fish Hopper, Huggo's, Don the Beachcomber, Kona Inn Restaurant, Kona Canoe Club, Outback Steakhouse, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Island Lava Java, and Bongo Bens Island Cafe and the list can go on.

But the town of Kailua also "hides" some very important Hawaii Island historic spots. Both the Hulihee Palace and the Ahuena Heiau are located on Alii Drive. King Kamehameha I spent his last years living near the current site of the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. The Ahuena Heiau, located on the grounds of the hotel, is a reconstructed temple rebuilt by Kamehameha himself and is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.

The Kailua Bay pier is a short 10-minute walk, from which most of the boat excursions on the Big Island's west coast depart (snorkel, whale watch, dinner cruise). The pier is the starting and finishing point of the Ironman World Championship (October) and a great place to watch the sunset.

We arrived and the place was beautiful and ready to go. Only bummer is no a/c for those that are used to having an a/c unit. The place did have plenty of fans which was nice. Would definitely stay again.

Although this unit does not have air conditioning, we feel that there is something special about the Hawaiian breeze that flows from the ocean to through the lanai doors to cool the condo.

The condo was great. Great location and view! Love being right in town. The one problem was the appliances are in bad shape. Frig sounds like a fog horn at night and the microwave sparked and smelled so bad we didn't use it. The layout is a little weird, too.

Overall, we had a great month in Kona. Our condo was quite comfortable, with a good view, even if partially blocked by the palm trees. Not much to complain about. The street noise from Alii Drive is loud. This condo has no cooking supplies. Not even salt & pepper. We did buy those and leave them there. The front bathroom is very nice. One of the largest we've seen in the Kona Alii condos. We enjoyed the closeness of restaurants around the area. Love Lava Java. Also Humpys, Bongo Bens, Huggos and Bubba Gumps are near by and good.

The condo location was great, although there was a lot of street noise. The ocean crashing against the rocks was soothing and the view was fantastic. The condo itself did not meet our expectations. The refrigerator made such a horrible sound that we had to unplug it at night. One bathroom did not have a full door; just a café style swinging door. The other bathroom's one electrical outlet was inoperative.
